Overpriced so so food. They don't make pizza to order, their way or the highway. Lady at front desk was rude. Waste of time I spend my money where I'm treated right and they serve my food to order.

I had heard good things about this place. I read the reviews and they were mixed, some people were very unsatisfied. I figured it was perhaps jealous competition due to the restaurant being around 50+ years. I should have listened. I

Only 2 negatives about this place they only accept cash and the decor is a out of date. This is the best pizza in Cleveland IMHO.

Geraci's has the second best pizza that I've ever eaten. It's the best pizza I've had in Ohio! Everytime I'm in the area, I'll be eating at Geraci's. Prices are average, service was average, pizza was exceptional, space was very limited. I

We have been wanting to go to Geraci's for a couple of years. Finally made it tonight. It was awesome! The food was great (try the hot pepper appetizer ... yikes!). The service was great (must have been 5-6 people worked our table, but not in an overwhelming way). We're going here every visit to Cleveland from now on

The food was excellent and service was wondeful. We had fried ravioli as an appetizer which was delicious and pasta with meatballs in meatsauce as our entree. The customer service we received was excellent, though in the past I have heard horrible things about the management and owners so was prepared to deal with that, but did not witness anything while I was there that evening. I would recommend this restaurant to others in the mood for quaint quiet dining and good italian food.

I never use the acronym OMG, but I'm using it here. I grew up in Cleveland and used to go to Geraci's Pizza with my friends in high school. I moved away when I was a junior in college and haven't been back to Cleveland in over 20 years! My son now has a job outside of Cleveland and the first place we went to when we got him settled was Geraci's. The pizza is just as great today as it was 40 years ago--yikes am I that old? There's something about the combination of a certain kind of pepperoni, the sauce, and the crust--OMG it is amazing. I ran into Mrs. Geraci at the restaurant and she was just as sweet as she was when I was in high school. It's so nice to know and support a family run business. OMG.

Pros: Pepperoni Pizza

Cons: Nothing

I guess they read the comment and put a menu online. I have always thought they were super nice there. Only reason they would be rude is it is always really busy there and the wait is long often. I think it is the food and I would say a wait isn't always bad. About being rude...we always have the host sit and talk with us. We don't go in that often and I don't even think he recognizes us, but he will sit down and have a conversation. Love this place:)

I've been going to Geraci's for 50 years because we really enjoy their pizza. Two days ago I ordered a small pepperoni
pizza for lunch. It had the wafer thin pepperoni on it like you would find at Zeppe's. I called to comment on my displeasure and was told by Prune Face Frannie that if I didn't like it don't come back again. She then hung up on me.Mrs.G and her older two daughters are delightful, but they should not allow Prune Face Frannie to be around customers.(no wonder she can't keep a husband).

We decided to try this place, and we were willing to wait. As it turned out there was no wait and 5-6 empty tables. But we have to wait 5-7 mins. just to get a menu, After waiting for a total of 20 mins. we walk out. No one even got our drink order. I'm guessing we didn't look like enough money for them. To bad, we are very good tippers and spend freely.

About the rude thing....I agree. Just called the restaurant to see if there is an on line menu or if I could get it faxed. The person that answered the phone said they don't have one on line, nor do they have a fax machine. Even when I pointed out that I would be driving quite a distance to their restaurant & would like to know what I was ordering before hand. She told me............."I told you we don't have a fax." She was very rude - I will not be patronzing that restaurant.

When we got to the restaurant half the tables were covered with dirty dishes and when I opened my menu there was a big splotch of something creamy in the middle of it. Our pizza was okay--only the outer part of the crust was crisp, the center of it was soggy. The veal parmesan and the eggplant parmesan sandwich came a lot later than the pizza and they both were both burnt in places. The best thing that we had were the appetizer zucchini fries. They were dusted with parmesan which was great but a ramekin of what looked like diced tomatoes in the juice from the can came with them. They were pretty good by themselves, though. Overall, I would say that they were overpriced for what we got. It might have been an off day for them, but my family won't be going there again to find out.

I had heard of it, but never been till saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. So I went when my friend was here from Chicago, both agreed the pizza was really good, the sauce and pepperoni were excellent, but the pizzas are small if your a pig like myself. I would still put in my top 3 or 4 in Cleveland, maybe top 10 that I've had ever.

Great dining experience! My wife, mother-in-law and I went to Geraci's after seeing the Triple-D episode on TV. The wait was about 15 minutes and the service was attentive after we were seated. The pizza was excellent, my wife had the lasagna and loved it. My mother-in-law enjoyed the food, she is Italian and it passed her standards (remarkable). My wife invited Mrs. Geraci to sit with us and her company was delightful. Next time we're in Cleveland another visit is definitely on the agenda.

The pizza is very good I love the pepperoni. And the antipasto salad is the just the absolute best! they have thick pieces of meat and cheese and the dressing just sets it off. And the garlic toast that comes with it magnificent! I used to work next door to geraci's and ordered for lunch on a regular. They are the best!

Ok here's my recollection of Geraci's Pizza. I used to work there back in the 70's while going through school, so I can remember their heyday! I was one of the guys making the pizzas during the busiest dinner times over the weekends back then. We used to pack them in that place and I am not kidding. Wanna talk about dreaming about pizzas, try having nightmares about having a huge stack of waiting orders to be filled and not burning the existing pies in the 650 degree ovens.

Well time moves and Its been 30 years, and I still find myself comparing other pizza'a to theirs. I took my significant other back to Cleveland to try on of their pizzas and she was blown away by it. She said it was the best she had ever had.

I have found many good pizza's and many mediocre ones and a few really bad ones, but theirs stands the test of time, as my recent trip back proved. It was indeed like going home to a home cooked meal!

As for the secret to their pizza? How does one define any secret, its not any one thing, its the combo of all the ingredients and the passion, the place, the history and the people who made it happen then and who make it happen now.

There is no other place like this, and I was priviledged to work there as one of my very 1st jobs.

Pros: Good traditional Sicilian style food

Cons: Try getting a seat on a busy night

Although I love the food, the service and managers are rude and curt with the guests. I was there for lunch the other day and the server never smiled and the manager looked acted like we were ignorant when asking a question about the restaurant. Very conceited and rude to us.

I have been eating at Geraci's for almost 40 years. I have traveled around the world and now live in Virginia, but I profess to everyone I meet there is only one place to get the best pizza on the planet, a lttle restaurant on Warrensville Road in University Heights , Ohio. Whenever I am in Northeast Ohio I am sure there is time to drive to University Heights for lunch or dinner. Do your self a favor, forget the rest, eat the best. There is no other pizza that is even close.

Pizza was so-so. When I've ordered a barbecue chicken pizza elsewhere it comes with barbecue sauce not tomato sauce, odd taste.
They only take cash or checks and that information is not prominently posted. There is a small sign on the cash register...............a little late. When I called in I stated that I had never been there before, the fact that they don't take any credit cards should have been stated then.
I overheard the staff semi-complaining about a party of 35 coming in, that there was no place they could put them.

Tried Geracis for the first time recently and I was impressed. The restaurant is a tight squeeze but once seated it was no problem. We had a comfy booth for the two of us. We waited a bit for the pizza but that was expected during a busy Friday night dinner rush. Our server was very friendly. The pizza was very tasty. Not thrown together like others pizzas that are made during busy hours. The prices are very reasonable. Cherry soda was a nice surprise, nobody seems to carry that in the fountains anymore.

Similar pizza to Mama Santa's (top rated) and the pizza is very easy to eat; however, the sausage was average quality. One individual in my party compared it to Totino's store pizza. The meatball sandwich gives you an idea of sauce genorosity and there was very little on the meatball sandwich ($6.95), size average no potato chips (Pizzazz's is $5.50), just three pepperocinis. The meatball quality was excellent. The dining experience at Geraci's dine in has to be experienced once. There was a waiting line of about fifteen minutes and three parties on Saturday night; there was one or two parties waiting when we left. The dining room is about twenty five tables closely seated with nice bright lighting and very enjoyable conversation everywhere; the noise level will rise if you rise you voice above the noise level. The presentation of the pasta dishes and the portion sizes were very good. Service was very good; the restaurant has as much carryout business as dine in so expect to be treated equally to the call in orders. I pity the kind host at Geraci's dine in, that has to work there entirely, as it is closterphobic entering and exiting the dine in area (not much different to Mama Santa's entrance to the carry out and dine in at Little Italy, Cleveland).

Cons: Very tight seating with a product that is a bit overpriced and can improve.

The pasta here is awesome, but I go for the pizza. This is one of the best pies I have ever had... anywhere! The pepperoni is out of this world and the sausage is equally as good. Eat it there and enjoy the ambiance, or take it out, but don't try to use plastic, they don't take it.

Their pepperoni is the best. They are small, but cut thick and curl up on the ends. Great for holding in the grease! The carryout area is tight and I don't understand how in this day and age they don't take credit cards. There is nothing more embarrassing than having to walk out of a restaurant to go to a cash machine down the road.

Geracis is a small italian restaurant, that has a great cozy atmosphere. The food partions are a good size, the menu has a nice variety of italian dishes, but the dishes are the same as you would find at any other italian restaurant, and the prices are a little high.

When we found Geraci's Restaurant, we found a piece of heaven on earth. They have the best pizza we have ever eaten. Their pizza has won several awards from the Plain Dealer and other Cleveland publications. Once you taste it, you'll understand why. When you mention their name, people always comment about their fabulous, mouth watering pizza! We also enjoy their pasta and baked italian sausage casserole. Mr. & Mrs. G have a terrific restaurant. When we would be down in Akron, we would actually drive ALL the way to University Heights to eat a Geraci's pizza. I don't ever recall doing that for anyone else's pizza!

I have traveled all over the world and tried pizza everywhere. I tell you - there is no better pizza. I have begged for the recipe - and of course - it's a secret. Have you ever wondered what food you would desire most - if you were a castaway on a lonely little boat lost in the ocean - with no food or water for days and days. I would dream of Geraci's pizza. I know - it sounds rediiculous - but its true. But this is coming from a guy who drives into Cleveland from Chicago - just for a delicious- DELICIOUS - Geraci's pizza. I'm not kidding. That's my opinion - and I stand by it. PS - I even have my parents FEDEX me a pizza from time to time. I'm that sickly in love with it.

I live on an island in Lake Erie and when I want really great Italian food I travel across a lake and drive nearly 2 hours to Geraci's. The food and service is excellent and I love the ambiance...it's like coming home for dinner. I always feel like a member of the family and I enjoy the exellent wine list and the variety of entrees. And I love Geraci's pizza. Dining here has always been a pleasure.

I began wating pizza at Geraci's in 1970 as a student attending nearby John Carroll University. I recently was back in the area and had a chance to eat there sevral times -- the pizza still is excellent and the eggplant also was very good. I'll go back again!

Finally, someone decides to give Geraci's its due! For generations this has been the place to be after any local event for kids to adults. I can remember the trip to Geraci's after dance classes at Flo Shapiro's decades ago. It was actually a social event that you couldn't ignore. Even IF the food was only medicre, you had to make an appearance. The pizza is about the best there is. I can still taste it! Well of course I can, I just had one last week. I will make the 40 mile trip just to go to Geraci's just because. You can't lose here. Try it, you'll LOVE it.

It took an hour for them to get our pizza, then on top of that they got it wrong, and it took another hour for them to get it right.

One word:
Pathetic

As one of the many long time employees of Geraci's, I simply must respond to the "Dragon Lady" review. At least 95% of our valued patrons are friendly, courteous and generous. But that small percent who suck down enormous quantities of liquids, reach into the bread basket before the bread plates are served, insist on piling coats on a chair rather than using the coat rack, flag servers down to order when they have no idea what they want and behave as though the lack of a handful of cheese is the end of the world: watch out, we've got names for you too!!!!!

Pros: nice wine list, excellent bread, inexpensive

Cons: crowded seating, no smoking at all, rude customers

I live on the Westside of Cleveland and travel over to University Hts the long way whenever I want a great pizza. Granted the service can sometimes be not too attentive, but the pizza......YUM! The pepperoni is REAL, not the greasy thin slices. The pasta dishes are great too! Actually everything there on the menu is great.
