Here are some of the things that made COSI so special and exciting for me when I was a kid taking field trips and over nighters there. This was during the mid 80's. Rats taht played basketball show. The giant metal orb that made your hair stand up as the everyone would hold hands. The old time street where you could see wax figures of past presidents that were animated and spoke. The giant space rocket in the enteryway as you made your way inside the building. I could go on and on....Does any of thosw things ring a bell with anyone?

When I was younger, they had Cosi located a little farther down the road, across from the first Wendy's. I don't remember the price considering I was only a small child when I went, but the experience was fun. They had a "mining cave" and they had the retro rooms (I think it's called Progress?). They still have Progress, but not the mining cave, or the train, or anything else super cool I remember about it.
Last time I went to the new Cosi, it was interesting, but not as great as I remembered the old one. They used to have an exploration type area, with a room where the floor was completely tilted and everything, and that was neat...But they closed it. The water themed area is neat, but after you see it a few times there's not much to look at anymore. Life was very informative, which I liked.
Cosi has its high and lows, but the lows outweigh the highs more...Considering the price for entry.

Before I went to Cosi, I used to think: Oh, thats just another place for little kids. After i went, i was blown away! It was absolutely SO FUN! I went on a midair unicycle ride, and went in their EXTREME screen to watch "stomp"! I was very lucky, to get in free because of an OSU event, and get to watch STOMP (which i happens to be a fan of.) This place is great! Fun for the whole family!

PROS: Fun for everyone
CONS: Food costs and the extreme screen tickets are not relaly cheap.

This museum of science is so cool because it is totally run by volunteers. I used to volunteer here when I was in high school and it was an amazing experience. It offers so much for kids and adults in the Columbus area. A great place to learn and have fun. The prices are realy reasonable too!

I really enjoy visitng COSI because I majored in Science and I find a lot of the exibits there very interesting. It is really a place for all ages and has something of interest for kids through adults. The staff there is very nice, and it is really reasonably priced for all the things there are to see and do. Definitely an educational experience for the whole family.

I have taken my nephew here a couple of times and he loves the kids space. There is a ton of room and a lot for him to do. The last time I took him he got soaked in the water area. Fortunately, they have a dryer and extra clothes so I put him in sweats that one of the girls who worked there gave me while they dried his clothes. It was really nice. Another nice thing is that you can pack a lunch, so that's one less expense you have if you go here for the day. It is a little expensive for admission, but if you pack you can spend the rest of the day here without spending any additional money.

If your children are saying that they are bored in the winter or on a rainy day, consider taking them to COSI. This Central Ohio Science Center is a huge facility that has a lot of options to choose from.

The cost for children ages 2-12 is $7.50 and $12.50 for ages 13 to adult. SInce they are open from 10am to 5pm Wed to Saturday and 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday's, you can have an entire days worth of fun!!!

They have about seven permanent exhibits that are sure to engage the minds of those young and old. I have been going since the mid 1970's and never tire of it.

There is something for everyone. While having fun you are also learning. There is a kids section for the under 6 group. The kids area is great and safe. The kids can wear themselves out in a safe learning environment while having a great time. They have some items that are hard to find, and the kids love them. They have little tykes big building blocks which are very hard to find, but the kids love playing with them.

COSI is a great idea, but the execution doesn't quite match. There are a lot of exhibits that take up a lot of space and don't do anything in particular. My preschooler loves to go there for one reason -- the "Little Kidspace", which is basically a really well-outfitted playground. It's great for bad-weather days, except for the fact that usually many, many other parents have the same idea, and it can get crowded and germy.

Overall, though, it is a nice destination with a lot to do. And maybe sometime they'll figure out how to best use every bit of it.
