The Scene
The restaurant's pseudo-industrial interior is dressed with copper and black metal motifs, exposed pipes and Japanese accents. Dried flowers and exposed brick walls keep the atmosphere friendly. Starters include the baked goat cheese in pecan crust with field greens and tomato-basil relish. The smoked salmon pizza has a thin crust topped with Norwegian salmon, three cheeses and capers. Or try the creamy bow tie pasta flavored with aromatic garlic and tossed with wood-grilled chicken and fresh herbs.

I am a lifelong Cincinnatian and have patronized this restaurant for 20 years. Trio is one of the best casual dining experiences in town. Highly recommended for locals and visitors. Very conducive to comfortable, long conversations as the waiting crew is never pushy but rather courteos and polite. Truly, I don't work work there. Trust me - go for it!

Ratings_icons Just not worth it!

I will start with the positive. Good service, seated quickly and received the meal in a timely fashion. However, the rolls were not hot and hard as a rock. The glaze gave the steak more of a burnt taste then flavor. Then the topper was the bakery fresh cookies I odered to go. They were not bakery fresh. They smelled and tasted like they were burnt in a microwave. I could have had a better meal at Applebee's at a third of the price.

Pros: Quick service

Cons: Cramped seating and bland food

Ratings_icons Rude treatment, disappointing food... a BAD time in the GOOD room

Mairlah

I have never been so rudely treated in a restaurant. We were seated and ordered food which arrived on oversized serving platters. This created a shortage of space on the table top (I ended up holding a basket of rolls!). When we asked for more space, we were asked if we had a reservation! All this AFTER we had ordered and were served. Staff showed no concern for the problem until we threatened to leave them AND their food ( which was very disappointing). We were moved to "the good room" ( it made us wonder where we were seated before.... "the BAD room" ? I insisted THEY move the food, which they did. Food, of course was cold. After "dinner" the manager returned to argue with us some more! Dinner was comped, but our evening was ruined. I will NEVER go back.

Ratings_icons Great romantic dinner

lmbucalo

A recommendation of this place is easy....romantic atmosphere, prompt greeting and seating (with a smile), attentive staff, and the food is succulent...a great place to get away for a couple of hours and forget about the world outside.
Short story: A wedding anniversay couple was staying in the Embassy Suites in Blue Ash. After celebrating one dinner at Cascades Restaurant in the hotel, they were looking for another place to explore. I suggested Trio's. I called Trio's staff to let them know about this special couple...they helped me make an evening so romantic that the couple were completely taken aback! Thank you Trio's!!!

Pros: Atmosphere, parking, staff/service

Cons: none

Ratings_icons Vibrant and Satisfying

jbr2000

No snooze job here. Fun, attractive people enjoying themselves in a well serviced restaurant with great drinks, salads, good bread--too uncommon in Cinciannati--and delicious desserts. The banana cream pie warmed with a white chocolate topping is unique and highly recommended.

Pros: Value, Vibrant, Quality

Cons: Need reservations
