Werwa Jeffrey A Dvm - Cincinnati Animal Medical Ctr

I met Dr. Jeff when my bird became sick, he was highly recommended to me by the bird shoppe. I was impressed by Dr. Jeff's kindness and his complete dedication to what he does. He has been my vet every since, I have three dogs and three birds that he cares for. Dr. Jeff is a very outspoken and energetic man he says what is on his mind. To judge him by a phone call you made during his off time is not fair. But i think all the reviews here speak for themselves, he's the best vet around! You won't find another vet who has such dedication and love for animals, Dr. Jeff is highly recommended by me and my flock!

He's been my vet for over 16 years and I do not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He's been with me through five ferrets, and I can't imagine going to anyone else. Several of my ferrets had to be put down after getting various cancers, and Jeff was one of the kindest, caring people I've ever known during that process.

I am not only happy to call him my vet, but also my friend. Our last ferret died a few years ago, and I haven't had a pet since, but I've stopped in a few times when in the neighborhood for other business, just to say hello and keep in touch. He always welcomes me warmly and takes a moment (if he has it) to catch up.

If anyone gets the notion that he is curt or short with people on the phone, he's a very busy man. He does not hesitate to fit his clients' pet emergencies into his already packed schedule. On his busiest days I've seen him take the time to really listen to every issue. If you want to get to know him, make an appointment for your pet and see how he handles the visit. You'll be sure he's your vet from then on.

And he's never sugar-coated any situation for me. No matter how bad the health issues were, he never gave me false hope and was always frank with me about the odds and the costs.

He's also the only vet for many of my friends' dogs and cats - some on my recommendation, some found him on their own and we were so excited about the realization that we both were going to him! So many Dr. Jeff stories to tell.

I'm getting ready to take my first kitten to him and look forward to renewing our regular association.

I think people who are looking for vets should call and make an appointment to just go in and talk to the vet you are interested in, not call on the phone and request information. Just requesting information does not do anything for you just tells you what others have already told you. I think calling Jeff at 6:45 am(during emergency hours) is very inconsiderate as he is a very busy man and does deserve to have a little time to himself. I would only call at that time if it was a dire emergency. Karen you need to maybe work out that problem with your current vet because it seems like no other vet will ever satisfy you.
Our birds are our kids too and if it weren't for Jeff and his knowledge and compassion of animals, we would be lost. Jeff and his staff treat our birds like they were their own kids. I have called Jeff on weekends and he has called back in 5 minutes or less and is always very concerned about what is going on. He always makes sure our babies get the best of care. We feel like Jeff and his staff is part of our family. We will go to no other vet, because Jeff is the best avian vet around. Thanks Jeff and all your staff!

Jeff has been wonderful with my pups! Most vets come in and go through the process of checking the dogs. He took the time to put them at ease and let the dogs get to know him before he started in on them. I knew right away that he would be a great vet. He was gentle with them and very knowledgeable. Those who have stated that he is can be too forthright, he is just from the New York/New Jersey area, listen to his accent. People from that area aren't rude or aggressive, it is just how they are. Don't take it personally that he doesn't add the "fluff" to seem warm and fuzzy! He's a great guy who truly cares for animals

We have been taking our two dogs there for a few years and find Jeff to be a bit of a character and yes, sometimes he can be brief or seem to be rude, but it is because he is trying to appease so many people at once and does handle emergencies. I personally feel he is one of the best vets I have ever known. He doesn't beat around the bush he will tell it like it is and his fees are not out of line. Not cheap but they are running a good center and that isn't cheap to do. So if you want the best for your pet and want a good diagnosis the first time go see Dr. Werwa. We love him.

I'm not sure if the other folks woke up on the wrong side of their beds to complain about Dr. Jeff Werwa or what but I have to tell you he is the best vet around, we have used Dr Werwa to treat our animals for years and he will always be upfront and truthful with his clients.Dr Werwa is a man of integrity, he is honest, and he is definitely not rude as a few previous posts suggest.

I too had a similar experience to Karen's. I didn't know the man but had read the positive reviews. maybe he only reacts this way to people who don't fall at his feet. Her words of "attack" are good word choices. he did the same to me. Forgive me. I'm too afraid of his instability to leave my name.

I just read Karen's review of Jeff Werwa. I have to say that she has made a big mistake. Jeff is a wonderful vet and a friend to our entire family. He's always busy and always takes the time to talk to everyone. I'm sitting here with my 14 year old dog, who was just diagnosed with lymphoma. We are having a very hard time facing this. Beyond the diagnosis, he took the time to talk to us about our choices and our feelings. He took the time to help my daughter, who doesn't remember life without this dog, He took my dog for a walk, just to get a better idea of her quality of life. The staff is the greatest. Sometimes the only saving grace in facing a bad situation is the kindness you receive from others. I would recommend him to anyone! We have five pets and he's taken care of them all.

My animals are my children. My only children. I have been with the same vet for 20 years and encountered a problem. I heard good things about Jeff Werwa and Janet Clem, so I tried to gather information, which included costs, although for me costs aren't the big issue at all.
When I called, she asked if I could call back in ten minutes. I did. I asked her to fax me info, but when it came over all three pages were blank. I called back and asked her to refax. Nothing ever came.
I called the 513-761-8387 number at 6:45 am. I c=got a canned message, heard a beep and left a request for the info to be faxed to my number again.
Jeff Werwa called me back, said "Mrs. Weiland, this is an emergency line." I couldn't even get out that it was the same number I called yesterday, when it wasn't an emergency line before he said, "I'm good at what I do and my costs are very reasonable." I squeezed in, That's what I have heard." To which he responds, "I don't want to be rude, but people who call around for costs, I don't want as clients." Fighting back tears and thinking this guy thinks I choose my vet on cost only, "I said I have been with my vet for 20 years..." Mr. Werwa interrupted saying, "Then you should stay with him." To which I said good buy and slammed the phone down. Hey, Doc, thanks for all the help in my time of need. I was referred to him by several people. You better believe they will hear my story. Its a shame Werwa couldnt take the time to listen and know the story. That kind of crappy customer service I don't need. Do you??

Jeff Werwa is a crazy man, but he is the best at diagnosing and has wonderful instincts (and I only mean "crazy" in the positive sense of the word.) He donates his services to several rescue groups in town. He's been my pet's vet for about 15 years, and he's like a member of the family. The staff is terrific too.
