Please do not risk going to this place and throwing away your money. I went there because my service engine soon light came on and I was smelling gasoline. A guy came out and opened my trunk, shone a flashlight down inside, and said I had two blown intake gaskets and that it would cost 700-800 dollars to fix. He said if I don??t get it fixed right away, it would result in a blown head gasket which would cost $2000 to fix. I was very upset, crying (a lot of money to fix a car with 145,000 miles on it), and called my Dad. He said to bring it out. Turns out, the ??evidence? he was showing me was just oil residue from having an old engine. The engine runs perfectly, and there??s nothing at all that would indicate two blown intake gaskets.

I also found out that the estimate of pricing was extremely high and you can??t diagnose blown intake gaskets in 10 seconds like he did. I have had no problems at all with my car since, must have been a freak occurrence (with the gas smell). Please do NOT go to Midas in Heath. I was almost out $800 for NO REASON!! What a shady person to look at me crying and have no shame at all in taking my money. He was obviously preying upon the fact that I was a woman and unknowledgeable.

Midas in Heath Ohio replaced my catalytic converters in May 2007. Since then, the check engine light has been coming on once a month and now stays on all the time. This is due to the fact that Midas put an after-market converter on my car that does not fit my car properly. They also damaged the oxygen sensor when they replaced the converter, which cost me over $400 to fix. When we took the car back to Midas, they refused to acknowledge this. They refused to admit that their computer told them the code says ??catalytic converter? even though an independent mechanic has confirmed that this is what the code says. I have spent over $500 on my car to undo the damage caused by Midas. To fully undo the damage would cost me another $800 for new a converter. The converter should have been under warranty but they will not admit that the check engine light indicates the converter and therefore, they will not replace it. Another mechanic verified that it is the converter setting off the code. Don??t trust Midas. Seek service elsewhere!
