This is a very poor choice for a caring nurturing environment. I have two children which were placed with me by Childrens Protective Services, they happen to be african american and there is a very distinct difference in the way they are trated by staff. When I tried to discuss my concerns with the ownership I was very discouraged by the owners lack of concern and actually dismissed my concern as inappropriate. The choice to use this center is for each parent to decide but this is a very poor choice.

After referring Rainbow Station's before and after school program to an out of state friend moving to the area (whom which has researched reviews) I was deeply saddened to see the negative comments from customers. Although these comments have not been directed toward the before and after school program, I feel obligated to voice my opinion. I have lived in Reynoldsburg over 17 years. All three of my children have/are attending the before and after care program. Two of my children have since graduated from High School and to this day still speak volumes about Angi Rider, the program she operates and many of the staff she employs. I have nothing but praised gratitude for the dedication, honesty, compassion, love, care and knowledge for success in school and in life she and her staff give daily. As well as the amount of empathy she has given to many customers/citizens in the community in time of need.

My children race through the school building doors to see the teachers who meet the children with a smile/hug and a very warm welcome to their parents. It is an overwhelming feeling to know your child is in good hands.

I wholehearted disagree with any negative comments/feedback concerning the Rainbow Station Before and After School Program and understand that reviews are typically written out of anger. All reviews are of course based on opinion, however, I would recommend any potential customer to seek the truth in the eyes, heart and mind of the ones who matter; the children.

Once upon a time I was employed with rainbow station as well and I had to leave because the people in charge at this place have no morals. I will agree with you James that the directors such as Dena, Tracey, and Michelle are very unprofessional. They speak so badly about the parents using words like you mentioned ghetto, trashy, and they make racial comments as well. Danielle all I can say is people at rainbow may be nice to your face but from experience I can bet they talk about you as soon as you walk away. James I will disagree with you on the fact that they employee professional staff. While some of the staff are great what you don??t know is they have had so many incidences where the children are pushed around and roughly handled and there have even been people that have spanked children, this is another reason why I left. I would not call telling children that they are retarded very professional, and administration you know who the staff is that is doing this why don??t you get rid of these people? I guess it just depends on who you are right.

I have read the reviews and disagree with most of them. My children have been attending Rainbow Station for a couple of years now. I have never had a problem with the Director, the teachers, or the Admin. staff. In fact, my children LOVE their teacher, I am always greeted by the Director (Tracy), and Sue and Michele in the office are friendly and assist me with Title 20 issues.

Being on Title 20, I can tell you that no one have EVER treated me different than other cash paying customers. In fact, the Admin staff has helped me fill out paperwork, delivered my application to my caseworker, and made payment arrangements with me when my copay went up without notice.

There are rules in effect to keep a business running smoothly. I think that previous reviewers were told something they didn't want to hear, so they are taking it out on the company.

Rainbow Station is a wonderful daycare and I have been fully satisfied with their service.

Once upon a time I was employed through Rainbow Station Daycare. While many of you have valid complaints and there is absolutely no love lost between myself and this place, I feel the majority of staff are very friendly and caring. However, with the exception of Angi Rider, the administrative staff, owner, and her children she employs in leadership positions are very unfriendly and unprofessional. Furthermore, I feel that this company has an unfair monopoly in regards to use of public school facilities. Reynoldsburg City Schools should follow Pickerington City Schools lead and terminate its partnership with this company IMHO. I would disagree that this agency is discriminatory (they charge a 1.00 a minute rate for everyone) but I know they are judgmental and make comments about the clientelle. I remember hearing remarks from administrative staff ranging from ghetto, to trashy, to anti-gay comments made about same-sex parents.

I am very disappointed with Rainbow Station; Michelle is about the rudest director I have ever encountered. I am removing my children from this center after four years. I am very displeased with the way the center is now being ran. I never had any problems before and I love the staff but I feel the director is just too much and needs to learn how to better handle herself.

I will say I would have to agree that this daycare center discriminates against people with Title XX as well and blacks in general! Because some people have done certain things they feel everyone else will that receives any type of government assistance and ask for things that are not required but is preferred of a certain class/group of parents. If you look of discrimination that is what it says and what this center do. They try to stand behind the state and say they are asking for these things but that is not true. I have called the state and they stated that this is not needed from them and just something they are doing to babysit parents. I feel like the know you need childcare and chooses to treat parents with no respect. They fail to tell me that a medical form I had given them they were unable to use until the week that they needed it and refused to accept my child until I got the correct one filled out! So I had to come out of pocket for additional care because of an error on their part and they didn't feel the need to try to accomdate me. It was thier mistake and I had to pay for that mistake even though they were already paid to care for my children and the refused to keep them. The contract only protect them and not the parents for any of their wrongdoings. I think parents should re-think coming here because of the headach and discrmination and find a center who appreciated the parents and children.

I have never in my life seen a daycare so prejudice and money hungry! If you receive title XX they treat you like crap and nickel and dime you. Someone needs to explain to them that money is money and there is no difference if they receive payments from a private pay person (who can bring their child from 6am until 6pm) or Title XX who can only bring their children a certain amount of hours a week. If combine with Title XX and co-pays they are receiving the same amount as a private pay how can the try to charge you a late fee ($1.00 per min) if you are picking your child up before they close. I work from 8am until 5 pm and when I got there at 5:30 they wanted to say I owed them $1.00 per min because I was late. Which for my two kids was $60.00!! This is because I drop the kids off at 7:30!! I wanted to get to work early! Granted you could try to get your case worker to increase your traveling time but that shouldn??t matter if they are receiving a full tuition for your children anyway. What if traffic is backed up, what if the weather is bad?? I have to jeopardize my life because I am getting title XX and you want to count my hours and make additional money out of me. I should be granted the same privilege as a private pay person and allowed to bring my children from 6am to 6pm! No other daycare that I know of does this and they don??t tell private pay people that they pay by the hour. Don??t take your kids there and deal with this prejudice company. And they will learn if you don??t keep your customers happy you will soon loose children and in the end lose your daycare since your money hungry!! Am filing a complaint with the state as well!

Sounds like a digruntle employee trying to get their kicks. If Reynoldsburg Rainbow Station is such a horrible place, then how did they get their first step up to quality star? Some of us who take their children their are very happy with the care their children receive on a daily basis. Don't let a few bad apple opinions ruin a good daycare. If you have questions or concerns, my advice is to stop by and check it out . Don't knock it till you give them a chance.

I find the Reynoldsburg rainbow station to be a terrible place. First of all the director Michelle is nothing but rude and they way she speaks to parents is completely unprofessional. Second the toddler room there is unbelievable. I pick my child up only to find that there is bleach all their clothing. Why is my child being exposed to bleach? When I addressed the issues Michelle acted like it was no big deal and informed me that new clothes would be purchased, WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT MY CHILD WAS EXPOSED TO SO MUCH BLEACH THAT IT RUINED THEIR CLOTHING???? Please stay away from this place.

Im a parent of a child that attends rainbow station (reynoldsburg) and I've heard the infant room teacher (with glasses) and the director (michelle) discuss "how this contry is going down hill due to the forieners and lazy blacks." I'm appalled that such discussions go on in a "diverse" daycare!!! It was not the only time I've heard this, and because of not earning enough of a salary myself, I've had to leave my child with such people!! I DO NOT RECCOMEND THESE RACISTS TO CARE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!!!

Rainbow Station is a WONDERFUL center that has been providing care to children for over 20 years. Both of my children attended the daycare and latchkey programs. Now, my grandson is also attending the daycare center. Myself and my daughter are extremely happy with the care my grandson is receiving and he looks forward to going to daycare everyday. The teachers are trained very well and are courteous to all parents.

I've noticed some bad reviews from parents on here. Parents need to realize that there are policies in place to ensure superior service.

Rainbow Station DOES provide superior service.

I have two children who have both attended the Rainbow Station in Pickerington since birth, both the staff and administration are excellent. Rainbow Station provides transportation to most of the Pickerington schools and they offer a weekly curriculum for all of their age groups. The most important aspect of this daycare is that several of their staff have been there several years, watching and nurturing my children while they grow. I would definitely recommend this facility to all of my family and friends!!!!

My children have been attending Rainbow Station for six months. They absolutely LOVE the school and the teachers. Rainbow Station has found that balance between education and nurturing that all children need. My children have attended a few other reputable centers in the area, and Rainbow Station is far superior those centers. I feel that Rainbow Station is one of the best centers in the Reynoldsburg/Pickerington area.

My child is a toddler. I am very disapointed with this daycare in the way they carry themselves including other things. The director Traci is rude and they have no set curriculum for their preschool age children. My child learned nothing there and they are not focused towards learning at all. They provide mediocre breakfast items such as nutirgrain bars and milk and they don't provide drinks with the afternoon snacks. It's horrible treatment. My child was withdrawn in two weeks after we enrolled. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE!

First off, my children where constantly given BAGS of skittles, cookies, etc as snacks. I do Not give my children snacks as thoughs at home and had asked that they not be given such high sugar snacks as thoughs...but they did anyways. Secondly, to obtain more candy, my children said they hadn't eaten dinner but when asked my the director, my oldest son told them the truth and that his brothers said that to get more snacks. Well these people decided to call CPS anyways. Needless to say NO ONE contacted me at ALL. I did contact CPS when I heard about it and they notified me they had indeed been out but that the allegations where unfounded per my oldest child!
I Immediately took my children out of this daycare! I'll never recommend them to anyone! They even allowed my ex husbands mother access to my children though there was an order in effect forbidding her to contact them.
RUN... do not walk!

PROS: NONE
CONS: EVERYTHING!

FIRST THERE IS NO SECURITY CODE FOR THE FRONT DOOR, AND THEN THERE IS THE DIRECTOR, AMY. THIS WOMAN IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL DAYCARE DIRECTOR IVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE, MY CHILD CAME HOME FROM DAYCARE AND WHEN I ASKED ABOUT HER DAY SHE WENT INTO DETAIL ABOUT HOW THIS "MISS AMY" WENT INTO GRAPHIC DETAIL OF HER SEXUAL IN DEVOURS TO ANOTHER TEACHER WORKING IN THIS CENTER. I DID CALL TO REPORT THIS AND WITHDREW MY CHILD FROM THE CARE OF RAINBOW STATION, HOWEVER I AM UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT THIS WOMAN IS STILL EMPLOYED. SHE HAS NO BUSINESS IN THE CHILDCARE INDUSTRY WITH BEHAVIOR LIKE THAT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DAYCARE TO ANYONE, VERY UNCLEAN AS WELL.
