Barnum Beauty Systems

I pretty much concur with Teresa and Cheryl. I know that most Cosmetologist aren't well educated or stellar students! I have taught at local vocational school for years as a cosmo instructor most of my students struggle with the book work while they excel at the hands on. Hair care isn't rocket science! What the non-professionals don't have are practice and experience and that levels the playing field. Sure anybody can read directions and maybe do a good job but we don't need any stinkin directions we've done this before.

Hair care products purchased at the salon are overpriced. I am a former stylist and know about the mark-up. True most stylist in this area have employment issues. I didn't graduate high school (I have now taken a passed my GED and went on to college). But I will still able to become a hair dresser. One of the Hair Dresser's I worked with got her training in Prison.

Barnum sucks now anyhow since the quit carrying Chi Products. And I have bought at Barnum and sold it on Ebay its done all the time.

This is in response to Teresa S.. Five Stars to Barnum for selling to the Professional Stylist only! The products you buy from your Stylist are guaranteed to be top quality. There are plenty of black market sellers out there. Of course you don't know how old the product is or what temperatures it was stored in - all affecting quality.You think you don't need professional services ( Stylist, Doctors, Attorneys etc. ??? ) It will cost you a lot more for us to "fix" the mess you made than if you had let a Professional do the work in the first place.

You are tackled at the door for your "Barnum Card" or your license, "why" you might ask well its all about money making and politics. See Barnum sells to the professional stylist/shops only because they in turn double the price and sell it too you the end consumer. So if every Tom, Dick, Harry and Sally could walk in and make a purchase well your stylist would go broke for not being to overcharge you for the products they hawk. So lets say your stylist sells you this fabulous Matrix Shampoo for 20 dollars she probably gave 10 dollars (or maybe a whole lot less if she buys it in bulk) she just made 10 dollars from you. They go on that their hair chemicals (color, perms, straightners) are for professional use only that might be so since they don't include the "dummy" directions, but the average joe could still use them but again the stylist would lose money. Get a grip you don't even need a High School Diploma to do hair. Get your products on ebay and level the playing field.
