NOT GOOD. Went here with a Groupon (given to us as a gift) and we supposedly got $58 of food for $29 I think what we actually got was $15 worth of food. The service was terrible and the inside of this place is just old and gross. No music

I don't know if anyone else noticed this? But this place does not serve real Mexican food. It is actually the worst Mexican food I have had in my life, and tastes like any random person's first time attempt to make Mexican food. On top of that - it is ridiculously over priced for no good reason. The meat and everything else was dry and tasteless in their dishes, the rice tasted like Ponderous buffet rice, bland sauces, the portions are no bigger if not smaller than most Mexican restaurants - how do you mess up a burrito and enchiladas? This was literally up in the top 10 for worst food I have ever eaten in my life and my date agreed. The atmosphere is also really strange, not private at all, like you are eating with the table next to you. The only thing I will give this place is their service was good - but man, leave Mexican cooking to the real restaurants that know how to do it - I have had better food at TACO BELL!!!

Pros: good service

Cons: the food sucks, atmosphere is weird, and everything else.

I've recently went to Luchitas hoping it would be a great Mexican food. However, I was sorely disappointed in the quality of food. The food I ordered had very little taste. You would think Mexican food would have alot of spices too it but it didn't. Service was great and people were friendly. Most people don't just go for the atmosphere. They ame for great food. Try Mariachi' or some other place. Luchitas is like a fast food Mexican restaurant.

I can't believe some of the reviews. I have been going to Luchita's for 20 years. It's where I always ask to go to on my birthday. Great food and margarita's. The best salsa and red enchilada sauce around. Helpful hints, order the guacomole picado and ask for your margarita to be hand made.

El Jalapenos is so much better! El Jalapenos has an amazing chile con queso appetizer as well as killer margaritas. There's much more seating and it's cheaper than Luchita's! Hands down, El Jalapeno's is the best mexican on the west side.

Just arrived from O.C. and was hungry for mexican food. Friends in Parma recommended Luchitas. I have NEVER received such great customer service from a restaurant ANYWHERE! The manager gave us VIP treatment, making me feel like I wasn't just another tourist. He and his staff literally went above and beyond, making me feel as though I was a star! We were served plates of tender and delicious carne asada and carnitas, two types of flavorful rice and beans, fresh chips with mouth watering salsa, and a wonderful (and very different) guacamole. The margaritas were EXCELLENT! Five stars for both the excellent food and outstanding customer service! Coming from an OC girl who has mexican restaurants on every corner, I was very pleased with my experience at Luchitas and will definately visit again on my next trip to Ohio.

I wonder how they get rated best Mexican cuisine every year. I have tried it several times and found the food has no taste! They also tried to overcharge for a few pitchers of margaritas, which I don't think had any alcohol in them. The prices here are way too high. I read an article where the "owner" travels to Mexico 5x a year for ideas. I go to Mexico at least twice and year and the food is authentic and HAS TASTE! Not recommended.

PROS:
CONS: Bland foods, high prices

Weak mexicanish food. Tis a shame with so many good places available in the area that this psuedo-Mexican stuff wins the poll.

I was looking for good Mexican food in Cleveland for a good price. This is not what I found at this restaurant. First of all when I heard the cost of my total order, I almost could not believe it. I would have gladly paid this price, however, had the food not been bland and had I even been able to finish my entire dinner. Overall I was greatly disappointed in the experience and will not be going back.

The place looks run down to me at walk in, and I've seen real Mexican food in Texas, California, Mexico, etc. The Menu is awful, my Margarita tasted like ice with red juice, worst ever! The Pepsi didnt even taste like anything close to Pepsi Cola (Sugar Water)
I seriously never tasted such bad so called Mexican food in my life. Just start with
bad tortilla chips and not anyones idea of a decent salsa. No way, no how recoomended. I can't understand why people would eat ther more than once. The servers are not well dressed, food brought out in towels, not on trays. They stand and watch you eat, ready to take your plate and give you the bill. Wasted Money! Please try other Real Mexican Restaurants. Thank-you

Excellent salsa. Good guacamole dip. Authentic. Much more than the traditional, bland mexican in most cities.

After 3 months of rolling around Mexico I developed a respect for thedifferent regions cuisines. When the fun was over I came back to Cleveland hoping to be able to relive some of my culinary experiences. Friends told me Luchita's would "blow me away... They were right! You haven't had real, lousy Mexican food till you've eaten here. Staff was S L O W ! ! ! Beer was warm. Margarita was watery, Food took forever and was missing any resembelence of flavor. Regional style of Mexico? No place I was, thats for sure. Save the pesos and eat elsewhere.

There is a reason that Luchita's is consistently rated the best Mexican Restaurant in the city. There is a reason that you always have to wait for a seat in the evening and even sometimes at lunch. This is simply the best in the city. The salsa is unmatched - try the chipolte chicken or chile relanos (forgive my spelling please). I have NEVER had anything but a GREAT meal at this restaurant. Do yourself a favor and vist; this is still the best of it's kind in the city.

Well, take it from a texan, Luchitas is authentic Mexican food..notice the distinction here...Mexican, not Tex-Mex. The food is appropriately prpared and selections are inventive. The restaurant is between shabby chic and just plain shabby. Service is friendly and attentive. If you're looking for enchiladas with chile con carne and/or fajitas this is not the place...if you want a friendly atmosphere with authentic dishes from mexico...eureka!

knowing I'm from Arizona a co worker told me I have to try this place. Well I'll tell you the same thing I told him "This place sucks". After waiting 10 minutes in a empty resturant, We were finally seated. My room temp beer came a blistering 10 minutes later as well. The food we orderd may have been authentic becuse I believe thay went to Mexico to get it !!!! 45 min or so! But after the first bite I could tell this was not the real deal. Save your $13.50 and go get a #3 at the Bell because it's the samething. Only the Bell has more flavor and you can eat it the same day as you orderd it....

besides the food being wonderful and the drinks out of this world, Luchita's has the best service around. If you go to any other restaurant you know you wait awhile for a server to show up and they take forever with everything. At Luchita's everything is prompt and quick. Customers at Luchita's are almost getting spoilled and don't even think twice about it!!!Luchita's is numero uno!!!

After reading great reviews about this Luchita's, I decided to take my mother there for her birthday. We sat down and placed our order at 5:20. At 6:30, we were still waiting for our food. I inquired and the waitress (offering no apology) said our food would be right up. After another ten minutes, I walked up to the manager and explained the situation. With no apology, he said that the kitchen had lost our order and he would check on it (he then just walked away form me!) Our food was served soon after and our waitress acted as if it was perfectly normal for patrons to wait over an hour for their food. Needless to say, although the food was delicious, our disappointment in customer service left something to be desired.

This dimly lit former tavern is overseen by Mama Luchita Galindo, who cooks foods of Northern Mexico and her hometown, Mexico City. There are no frills here, but the food is tasty and the service is warm and friendly. We suggest starting…
