A low-key, friendly place where U.K.-imported bartenders are chummy and the music is quasi-Gaelic "lite" rock.

THEY BITE!! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I lived directly above Flannery's Pub for 3 years (2002-2005) in downtown Cleveland and occasionally would order takeout or visit for a beer and listen to a visiting band. The atmosphere was very comfortable, not too loud, good food, friendly staff, with lots of "real" Irish people frequenting the place. St. Patricks day was always a hugh event here, worthy of making the news and often did. I used to love their hamburgers, especially their "Black and Blue Burger". I am a polite, shy guy, in my 30's and began to feel comfortable and welcome and recognized by the staff here. Once a week I would order something for me to pick up and bring upstairs to my apartment. One day when I called to order the answer was NO! I was told they were "too busy" to fill my order. I dont' think I had ever been told that by a restaurant before! I asked to speak to the manager and was again told NO they were not filling my order. This bizarre response was a mystery to me and I proceeded to explain I was a loyal customer who lived above them, did not need a table, who always picked up my orders and left tips! They proceeded to hang up on me!! I assure you this was not due to anything I had done or how I had behaved on the phone, it was just very rude and speaks volumes about their true "friendly neighborhood bar" persona. One last thing I forgot to mention....I was durn hungry!!!

4 Star Rating - Very good

This is another "American Irish" bar. This does not resemble a traditional Irish pub, and the food isn't authentic either, for example: Shepherd's Pie is made with ground lamb not beef. And since when has Chicken Marsala been a traditional Irish dish? I opted for the fish and chips, and was disappointed with the quality of the fish and the over-cooked FRIES, not chips. Husband's reuben was "just ok." The service was good and the place had a nice atmosphere. Extensive beer list too.

Pros: Beer list, Nice atmosphere, Location
Cons: Average food

Good Eats! 5 Star Rating - World class

Went there before a Cavs game...perfect to fill up on food and drinks! The shephard's pie and hamburgers are great. The Frech Fries are the best in town! Pair it with a Black and Tan or some other pint and you are all set.

Pros: Good Service, Great Food
Cons: Little Loud

Average to above average 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I have a hard time rating this restaurant because it is not very authentic, it is a VERY large restaurant for Irish and the food is about average, but the service is great and the beer selection is the best I have ever seen. The food is not very authentic, but from what I have seen in this city it is hard to get true Irish food, but they make up for it in a beer selection that is second to none.

Pros: Drink Selection, Friendly Staff
Cons: Food
