They have lots of baby clothes at reasonable prices. Some if it is brand new. The store is cramped though, and it was apparent that someone had been smoking inside, which was a big turn off for me. Also, there was what appeared to be pet hair of some sort on a lot of the clothing. I got some good deals though... I am just going to throw everything right in the washer. I would visit this store again but was not overly impressed.

SOLD ME RECALLED BABY CRIB
by Lorri M at Citysearch
This store sold me a recalled baby crib, after I had ask if they check for recalls and was told they did. I took their word for it and bought it. I doubled checked before I put my new grandson in it and found it had been recalled. I called and talked to the owner, and she was defensive right away(put me on hold for about 5 min.) then said she was sure that the crib had not been recalled (because "NOTHING GOES ON HER SALE FLOOR THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED") but then did ask me for the name and model # and dates that the crib was made...I gave her the info and she said I was wrong..it had not been recalled, after a heated argument I hung up and called the crib company AGAIN, and was told that it for sure was recalled, so I called the owner back and gave her another chance to redeem herself. What a joke...she would not admit the crib was recalled but told me to bring it back in and she would give me my money back, I told her I morally could not do that and in fact was told by the crib company not to take it back to her store for fear that she would put it up for sale again. The company also told me what I needed to do to get a voucher for a replacement crib, she must have called the company also because at some time is our 2nd conversation (screaming match) she said she could get a free crib from the company so I should just bring it back to her and she would refund my money...how stupid does she think her customer are...why wouldn't I just send away for the replacement crib myself and make sure the recalled crib went in the trash where it belonged, I know I will sleep better at night knowing that it would be disposed of properly and not sold again. When I got to work later that day I had a message to call Sue (?) at The Growing Years...I did not return the call, because she seem to care more about her "livelihood" then the safty of her merchandise.
Pros: NONE
Cons: UNSAFE MERCHANDISE/ POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

For the most part this store is great. But you have to be selective, some items are a very good buy, and some are not. I was fortunate to have recently attended a sale where all articles of clothing were $1 each, along with the 20% off coupon from the Entertainment book this was a spectacular deal and I bought my daughters and son a lot of clothes for a very good price. Many of the clothing items are new with tags still on them. I also bought a used crib from here. The crib is a little beat up (really just wear and tear), but a $400 crib / daybed for $100 is a good deal no matter how you slice it.

As long as you know what is a good price going in you are golden. If you are looking for something specific, they will even put you on a list and call you when it comes in.

If you want to visit THE BEST resale shop in the State. Stop by the bona fide original "Growing Years" in Stow OH on Rt # 91. This is the nicest UPSCALE resale shop I've even shopped. You walk in and don't even realize it's resale, but when you see that every item is a high quality name brand item, you know your in the right place. I've saved thousands on my families' wardrobe. They have sizes from newborn to teen, and maternity also.

Stop by if your visiting the area, you won't be disappointed !!

This is a great resale shop for childrens clothing. I have bought several items from here. Clothing was clean and in excellence shape. Prices were very affordable. Sales staff was willing to help with finding the sizes I needed. Store is well organized. I like the fact that they sell name brand used clothing at a fair price.

What I don't like about all the new up and coming resale shops is that they just can't compete with the original. There have sprung up many children's resale shops in the Toledo area over the last year or so, and quite a few have them have ended up closing up shop.

My thoughts on the Growing Years Too was that they were too expensive for used clothing. And, some of their stuff was really "used." I have paid less at other stores for items they were selling in theirs, and they were not in very good condition.

One thing I don't like when I go to a store is to see workers standing out the door having a cigarette either. When will family businesses wake up to that being a negative image for our children.

When I go shopping with my kids we do it as a learning experience as well, and it just does not make a good presentation when things smell like smoke. I also saw a hose in plain site with car seats upside down where they do their cleaning. It just didn't look very professional. You wondered how sanitary some of these products were going to end up.

I do understand that a lot of these businesses are run by mothers trying to make an income, but for the used children's clothing Once Upon a Child is the best in the area.

It was hard to find the correct size and style you wanted at The Growing Years Too, and, I'm sorry to say, that my first visit will be my last.

The Growing years too is a great place to get used children's and babies' clothing, toys, furniture and accessories. They sell only gently used items and they have a pretty good selection. It is a pain to shove thru the tight aisles pilled with stuff so it might be good to leave the kids at home, but a trip here will save you money. They have baby stuff mostly, but also carry items for children up to around age five.

PROS: great price, good selection
CONS: very tight cramped store
