I am amazed at the owners reply to an unhappy customer below, I did not receive such service and I did not leave with the feeling that "OUR CLIENTS- ARE OUR BUSINESS" . I did leave after my membership was cancelled without notice and unjustly and after I was told that the police would be called because I was trespassing.
I am completely appalled at the service I received at this salon and by the owner herself. I have been a customer for at least 2 years. I tan on a regular basis & I pay faithfully every month and have never had a complaint about the owner, the salon or the employees. I loved coming there, it was clean and quaint. I have recommended this salon to everyone I know who tans? until today!
10/28/10 I walked into the salon right as the system went down. I waited patiently while the employees frantically called for help and scrambled to manually put people in beds-which didn??t work. I overheard the girls saying that Liz (the owner) wasn??t coming and they were quite irritated about it-like it??s not the first time the owner didn??t come through for them. I waited around for about 25 min. until a young woman finally arrives (not the owner) and I??m manually put in my bed. I upgraded to the level 5 &purchased a packet of lotion. The salon manager manually figured out my total and I paid with exact change-I believe it was $10.64-because there system was still not working. I tanned and left, no problem. I came back the next day and proceeded to create small talk with the young woman who was working and asked about the system. She then tells me that I owe $1.42, I asked what for? I paid exact change yesterday and shouldn??t have a balance. She could not tell me what it was for but I had to pay it or I wouldn??t be allowed to tan. Needless to say I paid the $1.42. I asked the girl to have the manager or the owner call me so I could discuss this; I thought it was absurd to make a customer who has been coming to your salon for 2 years pay this when you can??t tell what it??s for. I was told she would have the owner call me back; she just hung up with her and would be talking to her again that evening.
I waited a few days and still no call. I went back to the salon and asked why no one had called me. I was told that the $1.42 was given back to me- Which this was not the point at all. She also said the owner said just to credit the$ 1.42 in tanning bucks-all I wanted was an explanation of what the charge was for. I again, asked for a call back from someone and was told that it would be done. I waited and again no call.
I go in a few days later and was told that the owner is just too busy to call me back. They proceed to explain that she is having some personal issues and just doesn??t have time. I don??t want to have a lengthy conversation all I want is some answers and an apology. I then asked if I could have her email address since she is not reachable by phone-even though she calls into the salon several times a day. (I did not find this review until after the fact or I would have reached out by email) I was told by the salon manager that she herself would call me one way or the other by 5pm and let me know if she had it or not, 5pm came and went and no call, at this point 2 weeks have passed. I called the salon the next day and spoke to the salon manager and told her that I didn??t forget she didn??t call me back and she was speechless and had no explanation as to why she didn??t call. I began to tell her that I was appalled that no one in the salon cares about their customers and that it was disheartening that I??ve been treated this way. I know I don??t have the most expensive package but I am a customer who previously loved your salon. I told her that I would be looking for a new salon after this month-since I have already paid-and will reach out to the better business bureau.
I didn??t want to go back to the salon but I was already charged for the month of Nov. I was not going to just give my money to them. I go into the salon on November 13, 2010 and was asked by the salon manager if Liz left me a voicemail-No I didn??t receive a voicemail. She told me that Liz cancelled my membership. I asked for a refund because I was charged for Nov. She proceeded to call Liz-the woman that is too busy to reach out to an unhappy customer. Liz never asked to speak to me. When she got off the phone she said they were not giving me my money back &I was trespassing on the property &she notified the police, the POLICE because you have poor customer service? She told me that she told Liz what I said, about finding a new salon and complaining on them and Liz thought it was best to cancel my membership.
I am confused why the owner has all this time to hear second hand information from her employees rather than reaching out to me herself. If the owner is in fact incredibly that busy and can??t handle customer issues then she needs to give her salon manager the power to appease her customers and take care of them!

I've been to a lot of tanning salons over the years and this by far is the cleanest! Great customer service and specials too! I know the owner and she's a class act and expects nothing but perfection from her employees. Don't believe the one negative review on here, Sun Terrific is the only tanning salon I recommend.

Sun Terrific Tanning is a Large Multi/Full Service/State of the Art Tanning Salon *Family Owned & Operated since 2001. And we have always PRIDED ourselves in our "Attention to Detail"-"Client Specific" Customer Service.
In response to the review, submitted by Linda L. I was nothing less than repulsed to hear you were treated in such a manner. I can assure you, that what you describe in your review, is NOT even close to what we teach our consultants to practice as customer service. That kind of behavior is totally unacceptable, and will not be tolerated, as a member of our staff.
I sincerley apologize to you. If i had known when it occured, it would have been dealt with immediately. I can tell you we have had to let several employees go in the last few years, as good/trustworthly employees are very hard to find. The staff we have now are awesome! And they do have a good steady record of "Positive Client Feedback". As it is impossible for us to be there 24/7...We do make random phone calls to clients, just to ask them about their satisfaction with our salon&the various services we provide, along with and the customer service they recieved. As far as the lotion (product pricing) we do have products that retail as high as $125.00, as does every tanning salon. But our products also start as low as $12.00. We make sure we have a quality product in every price range, to suite every individual clients needs. The products formulated for "indoor tanning" our important, as they assure you will get the "maximum results" from every tanning/sunless session you pay for. We want all of our clients to get the most for their money, "OUR CLIENTS- ARE OUR BUSINESS"

POOR SERVICE. The teenager they have working at the desk was unprofessional & on a personal phone call while I waited. She also was using slanderous curse words in colorful was I've never heard before. She didn't seem to care if I heard or not. I also did not like the nasty looks I got. After the phone call & the eye rolling she actually had the gull to try & sell me a $75.00 bottle of lotion. Will not be going back there considering the overpriced tanning lotions and poor service. The place was overall very clean but a ripoff.

I absolutely love Sun Terrific!!! I've been going here for as long as I can remember- when they first opened on the corner of Stroop and Marshall, I've never once had an issue with them. They learn your name and call u by it from then on out! The beds are ALWAYS clean and the selection of product is large and all the prices are very reasonable!!

This place is well run and it shows. The staff are always courteous and helpful and they have most of the best technology. Prices are very reasonable compared to Copper tans and other corporate places. The owners are super nice and there is always planty of parking. Nice selection of products as well.

this is the best place to tan, the staff is always friendly, they remember your name !! they have a large selection of different beds - which always have new bulbs. and the beds are always CLEAN.
