Dr. Yaw and the other physicians at Westerville Pediatrics are fabulous. I have 3 children treated at this practice, and I can always get an appointment whenever one is needed. Dr. Yaw is primarily the physicia we see, and I always feel like she is actually taking the time to listen to me and answer my questions. I truly believe that she cares about my children and all of her patients. This is a fabulous practice and I highly recommend it!

I have taken all three of my children to this practice since the day they were born. We have been through everything from routine check-ups to ear infections to surgeries, and the staff has always been great!
Dr. Mirvis is fabulous, as is Susan, one of hte nurse practitioners. We couldn't get better care. All of the staff at both locations are fabulous!

After having my 1st child, I chose this practice. I should have done better research. The staff has never been that pleasant. I have seen each DR in the staff and not one seemed that interested in children. In fact, when my daughter became ill, I had to call after hours twice. Both times I got a different DR who was very abrupt and seemed annoyed that I called them. The last straw came when my daughter was getting her routine shots. I placed her on the exam table and she was half asleep. The nurse proceeded to grab her by her legs and dragged her to the other side of the table, which made my daughter scream bloody murder. When I asked her why she did that, she replied, 'I need to do this quickly.' Completely uncalled for and unprofessional. We have seen one DR, for the most part, for the last 6 months and the DR doesn't even remember who we are. Never once have they discussed anything with me, the nurse just hands me information print outs. I was also basically laughed at when I voiced concern over the MMR shot. My daughter had recently been sick and I didn't want her to get the shots. The dr's reaction? he actually told Autism isn't in any way connected to shots, but it developes within the 28th week of gestation. Funny, considering there is no known exact cause, yet this dr deemed himself an expert. Oh, and the time I forgot a diaper, and I politely asked for one, I was told, 'well, if we have one. I dont deal with that, so you will have to ask the front desk.' The place is horrible and I can not believe they have a clientele at all. The only positive thing I can say is that there is hardly any waiting.

I was extremely disappointed with Westerville Pediatrics. We are new to Ohio and took a recommendation from a friend who takes their daughter here. I brought my son for his 15 month appointment and they could not have been more impersonal.

While waiting (a very long wait) my son pooped in his diaper. Well, my husband had used the last diaper in the diaper bag and never told me so I was out of diapers. When the nurse took us back, (she barely looked at us or spoke to me and didn't speak to my son at all) I very politely asked her if I could have a diaper. She mumbled yeah and told me to get my son undressed to be weighed. So I did, but he had a messy diaper so I didn't take it all off. Long story short, she forgot the diaper twice and when she finally gave it to me, she tossed it in our direction. At this point I just wanted to get the heck out of there, but finished the appointment. When it came time to weigh him, she put him on the scale, he was crying and she did not talk to him at ALL. It seems very odd to me for a pediatrician's office to NOT try to soothe a crying baby or reassure him that it's ok.

The nurse practitioner came in for the appointment and she was definitely better than the nurse, but still not very 'kid friendly'.

Then the nurse comes in again to give my son his shots. She had me hold him and gave him 3 shots which couldn't have taken longer.

I have taken my son to the pediatrician plenty of times in our previous city and it was NOTHING like this. My former pediatrician and her nurse were so loving to my son and reassuring and never had us hold him for shots. When they did give the shots they always spoke softly to him and gave them extremely quickly. (They also ALWAYS gave us or at least offered a clean diaper after being weighed) So I definitely know what a GOOD pediatrician's office is like and Westerville Pediatrics definitely is not one of them.

I have a daughter who manages to get every virus you could possibly think of. I was refered to Westerville Pediatrics through some online friends. When I first called they got me in very quickly with one of their nurse practicioners, and the recptionist was very pleasant. When you first walk in the waiting room is very nice. Some books, some toys and the neatest fish tank. The receptionist are all very personable. The nurse practioner was very nice and friendly, and on a second occasion we met Dr. Mirvis. Talk about a great doctor! My daughter loved his personality, he is very comical which eases little ones tensions. All of their medical assisants/ nurses also were wonderful. My daughter had some test done and they were very kind to her. I could not be more thankful to have had some really nice people to have told me about this office.
