I had great service. I was a few minutes late and they were very accommodating. I went for laser hair removal-not much results from the first visit but I was told this was to be expected. Looking forward to my next visit.

The medical spa staff are very friendly and they have a wide variety of services. They have really good customer service and their new location offers a relaxing environment.

The greeting by the employee behind the counter was less than enthusiastic. The best thing about this spa was the massage I got from Michael. He was professional and concerned about doing a good job. The rest of the visit went downhill

Be warned. Many of the stylists at the Identity (Kenwood location) are handing out their personal business cards to valued clients. Most of the stylists have stated that they have been looking for other salons to work at because the Identity owners (Kenwood) have not been paying the rent. Half of the stylists have left to find other jobs which is why a lot of the workstations are empty. It's interesting that the salon staff upfront act like they have never heard anything about this information. It's also obvious that the stylists are worried about having employment when they are the ones that actually take an interest in their customers. The front desk staff don't know how much time to schedule for different appointments. I have had nothing but bad experiences with the front desk staff. It's really the talent that retains customers.
So if you are considering in buying a gift card, you can call the staff to inquire about when they will be closing their doors. They might deny it, or they might advise you that the gift cards are also available at their Beechmont location. They are really pushing the gift cards this year, it's interesting because customers may not even be able to use them.

Been going to Identity Beechmont for two years. Love my stylist .. she is expert, accommodating, friendly and not pushy.. she is the only reason I go to this salon. Two beefs:

1) Cash Only Tips. It stinks that owners have opted not to allow customers to include a tip with credit card (CC) payment. I may be wrong, but I suspect this is a cost saving measure so the owners don??t have to pay extra CC company fees. Most people do not carry cash or forget to carry cash on hair cut day. More than once, I??ve had to return a day later with my tip, because I forgot to stop at the ATM the day of my appointment (note: there may be an ATM there, but I am not going to pay $5 extra/plus my $5 bank fee after I??ve just spent $200). Many people, I suspect, intend to do the same, but forget to come back, or tip with whatever is in their wallet, which may not be enough. The stylist probably gets cheated out of well-deserved tips simply because the client doesn??t have cash on his/her person. The owners should do everything possible to assure the stylists success -- not providing the easiest tipping opportunity for clients seems contrary to this goal.

2) Rigid Rules. Bought an Identity gift certificate online for $100. When it arrived in the mail, a small disclaimer stated that it is for ??Medical Services? only. I??ve called several times to request using the certificate for salon services but have been told Identity cannot change the certificate ??rules.? HELLO ? I spend $200 every month at Identity (that??s $2400 a year; that??s over $10,000 in five years) ?? you can??t make an exception to keep a lifelong customer? Yes, it is my fault that I didn??t see the disclaimer, but come ??on, I paid $100 to use at Identity Salons and Spas and I don??t want/need medical services. The money is already under your roof.. would it hurt to let me use it for a haircut instead of a Botox injection?

Overall, I love my stylist, but am dismayed by the ownership??s lack of attention to employees and customers. I wish my stylist would leave so that I could follow her somewhere else. Heck, after reading my own review, I??d be crazy not to try another place.

I started going to Identity in December 2009 wanting to try being a blonde from my naturally darker brown hair. Everything went great and I was a regular customer until July 2010 when I wanted to start transitioning back to my natural color (and a 45 minute wait for my scheduled appointment). Low lights were put in and it appear that my stylist, Amanda M., used an ash color after having previously used bleach on my hair. The result? Slightly green hair. It wasn't too bad with the low lights and the highlights.

Then, I went back September 2010 and wanted to get as close to my natural color as possible. Well, she just went with straight brown instead of using a red color first. The result? Really green highlights bleeding through the next day. She had me wait over a week since she was out of town to put a toner on it, which seemed to help for about a week. When the green started showing through again, I was told I would have to pay to have it corrected this time.

Really?? You make my hair green, after I pay hundreds of dollars for it, and then you have the audacity to tell me I need to pay to have it fixed from YOUR mistake? I have yet to hear back from an email I sent the company giving them an opportunity to remedy the situation before I file a complaint with the BBB.

I have been a cosmetologist for 13 years now. I know the hustle and bustle of the world from within a salon, and let me tell you it's not always easy. I totally understand that people get impatient if they have to wait a little longer than their scheduled appointment, I do myself. But I think a lot of people misunderstand that a lot of the time it's not the stylist's fault! Not saying it never is, but a stylist usually needs at least 20-30 minutes to complete a haircut. Shampoo, cut, blow dry, and style.(And mind you that we're scheduled with a new client every 30 minutes.) If you have one client show up 5-10 minutes late..your out of luck! Many stylist's will still try to accommodate the client because there always seems to be a legitimate reason why they are late. So to satisfy a loyal customer who is running a little late, we take the chance of running behind ALL day on the rest of our clients (which is NO fun) to make someone feel that they where important enough to have their needs met. Or how many of you ever went to the salon with an intended haircut, but ended up deciding you'd like to have a few highlight's? Once again, trying to satisfy a customer runs you behind. I have seen so many stylist's (myself included) go without lunch for the day because of a client that caused them to run off schedule. That time always has to be made up somewhere unless we want to be there till midnight.(And believe me some people actually expect you to be) So by the end of the day your starving, your feet hurt from standing for 10 hours, and you have been dealing with upset customers ALL day because your first client was 10 minutes late because they had a flat tire on the way in, and they can't reschedule because their going out of town for a business meeting the following morning. So you go ahead and take them anyways knowing what kind of day your in for. And you still get up and do it all over again the next day because you love what you do! Try to remember this next time your stylist may be running a little behind! ;)

Horrible!! I've been using Identity for over 8 years and every time it's been just OK nothing but the price is over the top. But it's close and I just kept going.
Having said that I know when I walk in the receptionist takes your coat and get you something to drink. But not this time. I waited for over 25 minutes watching my stylist chit chat with someone else before anyone even told me she was running late ( I was about 5 min early). When she finally got done she said that it wasn't possible to do what I wanted I said fine do what you did last time. She did a horrible job on the cut. But since I was already running late I decided that I would go home and see if it was just the way it was laying. When I went to pay I had a Gift Cert and a coupon. The rude lady at the counter said I couldn't use either one. Couldn't say why she couldn't but that she couldn't. So I paid double what I would have for this haircut and dye. I paid because of course no manager was there to help me. The next day I called the manager she was happy to help and would call me back. She called back the next day and said she could give me 20% off my next visit. I said no all I want is for you to accept the 50$ gift cert that I was planning on using. She stated she would have the owner Linda call me back. This was on a Thursday so I waited until Monday and when I didn't hear back from the owner I called back. I got a different manager who said that I was LYING because the other manager would have never told me that the owner would call me. I was getting upset by this point. I'm a long term customer and this is how you treat me?!! I told her if she wouldn't offer to accept my gift certificate than I would go to the BBB. She stated there was nothing she can do. So I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and guess what!! No one responded to the claim so the BBB had to close it with out helping.

PLEASE DON'T USE THIS SALON!!

I have been recieving services in the Beechmont Location for 11 years. They have a huge staff, over 20 stylists or so. I think that my hair is an important part of my first impression with my clients and my friends. I believe that their staff is very talented and they always keep my looks current and cutting edge. My color is beautiful and my cuts are always easy to style at home. My stylist helps me understand that My hair is important to me Just like some one elses hair is important to them. My stylist is very busy and occasionally I have to wait, while this is upseting the general hustle and bustle of the salon lends me to believe that there are hundreds of people who feel the same way I do. She is always apologetic, i appreciate this. When I have any important occasions I always contact her first, weddings funerals, important dates, she has been there with me for all of them. She spends extra time with me when its really important and I appreciate that too. I imagine that this must make her late for others as she is sometimes late for me. I am willing to compromise with her in this regard because she contiues to provide me with the personal custom service we all believe we deserve.

This is one of the most beautiful salon and spa I have ever seen. They have two locations that are equally as nice. Ever time I have walked out of their door I am more than pleased with my services. Identity's motto is "our Identity like yours is one of a kind" and I feel like that is very true they are a step above the other salons I have been to around here.

This salon is the best in ohio. I would recommended it to anyone. They have the friendliest staff. They are a full service salon and spa so they offer everything! From brow waxes to botox! from hair cuts to perms! They also aren't as pricey as some other salons around here. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

This salon is great! I have gotten my hair done there for the past year now and every time I get so many compliments! They aren't even that expensive haircuts start out at only $20! You can not beat that price with the kind of service they offer! I have recommended this salon to all of my friends and family ... and they are just as pleased!

My husband is currently working in Aphganistan and he wanted to do something nice for me. He went to great length to plan a day of relaxation for me. He had called Identity and reserved a manicure and a massge for me and my girlfriend to be done at the same time. He gave his credit care number to the receptionist and instructed her that it is to paid for by his card but to not run it until the day of so I would not see the charge. He spoke to someone the day before to confirm the appointments and spoke to someone the morning of and was assured that everything was taken care of. A limo came to my house and picked me and my girlfriend up and took us to the salon. We walked into the facility to discover they only have one reservation and it was for my girlfriend, not even for me, who this planning was to be for. Then the receptionist asked ME if I wanted to pay for this "before I got my manicure". Knowing that my husband would never plan this without taking care of the cost of it, I asked her to call Kenwood and check to see if payment arrangements have already been made. She called them and then told me that "there was no gift card there in my name". So I went ahead and put the charge on my card. Needless to say, the day was greatly dampened because of the incompetence of the staff and lack of ability to take care of a gift from a husband. You would expect a "spa" to know how to successfully make a gift day of relaxation truly relaxing. It also cost my husband more for the limo since we had to stay longer due to them only having one reservation. we could not get our massages at the same time resulting in an increased cost to us. When I told my husband what happened, he was VERY disappointed and upset. He emailed them about the situation. He receive NO response. I was very upset and called the next day. I asked for a manager and was told the manager was not in. The person on the phone asked what it was pertaining to so I told her what happened. She assured me that she would leave word and a manager would call me the next day. Of course THAT NEVER HAPPENED!. It is amazing that this business would let this happen when they have MITCHELL'S as competition very close to their Kenwood center. I will not go back. I will go somewhere that genuinely cares about good customer service!!! That certainly is not Identity. I only gave this place one star because I had to give it a star!

I just moved here, I owned my own business and started off on adventure to find a new stylist and spa. I of course demanded excellence as most do and Cincinnati is a big city. I was recommended to 3 major salons here, I read the reviews and I was willing to try all my recommendations, as I have.

I will say for cutting edge talent and quality of service @ identity all my needs were met. Coming from a large city myself I realize competition is a factor but from the reviews posted below... I could not find one that was valid. I was treated to the Signature Collection and added a Highlight and Cut and I could not be more pleased and satisfied. The staff was accomodating and I did not feel pushed, snobbed, or hurried in my 6 + hours during my visit. New Management? New Staff?

I was impressed! So much so, I posted here.

I was glad to see I was not alone in my opinion of Identity spa. I had been going there with my sister for a couple of years and I went before Christmas back in 98 and had a terrible hair cut. As soon as I got home my husband said it was uneven in the back and then my mother said the same thing two days later. Christmas was two days later so given the fact that we had family events coming up and my children were home for two weeks, I knew I couldn't get back in to have it "fixed" for at least a week. I called to tell them what had happened and asked if I could make an appt to get it fixed. They said they would "fix" it but I would have to pay for another hair cut because it had been over a week since I had been there and my "some people go that often to get their haircut". I went to Mitchell's to have it fixed (closer) and mentioned to the lady cutting my hair what had happened. When I was finished she told me she did it this time as a no charge and just hoped to see me back - that was 10 years ago - Never again will I go to Identity. Customer service means everything now days - especially when you are putting this kind of money out to "look and FEEL good".

I have been going to Identity for 3 years, different artists, but my hair was border-line disaster most of the time. Unexperienced staff, bad customer service and expensive.

I went to Identity for the first time with my best friends wedding party. We had appointments to receive manicures and pedicures the day before the wedding. When we first arrived the girl checking us in was very nice and professional. We had a total of 5 people in our group so it wasn't a huge party. When the mother of the bride gave her name the receptionist said she did not have an appointment. My friend, the bride, knew she had made an appointment for her mother! The manager came out and instead of trying to fix the problem, she argued with the bride!! I have been working in customer service and I could not believe her attitude!! Finally, the found a technician that could "fit her in." Once we got to our chairs and tried to relax it all went down hill from there. My technician barely would speak to me or look at me! Not very personable! She rushed through my pedicure as fast as she could. When I asked her why we were down so soon, she said she was just faster then everyone else. My feet were still rough!! What the hell!! She didn't even file my toenails before she started slapping the paint on!! My the manicure was just as bad. When I complained about my service they took $5 off my bill. Thanks! It still cost me $60 just to stick my feet in a bowl of warm water and have polish slapped on. A 10 year old could do a better job. They told me they would send me coupons in the mail. I told them there was no way I would ever come back even if it were free. I have had many pedicure and manicures in my day and this was the worst. Bad technicians, bad service, bad vibes, bad everything!! Stay away.

First I would like to start off by saying that I did not take a "walk-in" haircut on your special day. So, whoever told you that was the reason I was running behind was wrong for telling you that. I had 2 people scheduled before you who had super thick hair and I needed extra time to finish them. I had told them to let you know that I was running behind and apparently there was a communication problem that morning. I did apologize to you for running late and for you not knowing what was going on. I also believe that you left excited and happy with your hair. I did not try to put a damper on your big day nor would I ever want to ruin anyone's experience. Congratulations on your wedding Jane, I hope you have a wonderful life together.

I decided to try a new hair removal service-threading. After CitySearch result, I phoned and booked a Friday evening appointment.
OOPS! - I arrived 10 minutes late, expecting to be turned away. The receptionist greeted me pleasantly and assured me that they could still accommodate me. I was seated in the spa area of salon for about 15-20 minutes before "Rani" came out to greet me.
IS ANYONE LISTENING? - After I explained I wanted my uneven hairline to be threaded, "Rani" started to thread my eyebrows. I moved my head away and put my hand up to stop her.
CLOSE THE DEAL! - I was further dismayed after asking a general question about the various skincare products, "Rani" launched into hard-core sales pitch - regardless of not evaluating my skin, skin care regime, current products etc. She just seemed to want to SELL something.

RE-BOOK - "Rani" accompanied me to the checkout desk, not so unusual, but then proceeded to book me for another service with her the following day. There were two other employees standing at the desk. What I wanted to say out loud was, " I wouldn't book another appointment with you if it were free or if someone paid me." What I actually said was, "I'll have to call back to schedule since I don't have my planner book with me", believing I was being polite.
RECAP: As I walked up to the salon front doors, my initial impression was positive: lovely decor, clean, pleasant check-in greeting, but once the technician employee engaged, it was all negative. I wouldn't recommend and am unwilling to re-try.

Do not rely on Identity for any beauty treatments. I had been going to this Kenwood location for over 4 years and was getting mediocre service. I felt "safe" to have my wedding hair done there along with some of my bridesmaids. Terrible mistake! Tamara decided to take a "walk-in" five minutes before my appointment the day of my wedding. While the rest of my day was too perfect to be true, Identity tried to put a huge damper on it. I am so glad I had blocked 3 hours for this event that should have only taken one. I didn't get sat until 45 minutes after my scheduled time! This appointment had been planned for over 9 months, and I had been going to the same person for about a year. If they can't get a client's wedding day right, what else should one worry about at selfish Identity?

I waited over an hour for my hair appointment, checking at the front desk several times. Finally after an hour with no status update I went to the front desk and told them I was leaving. Why should I have to wait an hour for a scheduled appointment when I arrived promptly. I am very disappointed in the service and attention I received. My appointment was with Jeanette for 7:30 on Monday, Dec. 10th. at the Kenwood salon.

I have gone several times to Identity and have never been happy with the receptionists either in person or on the phone. They have kept me waiting on the phone each time for several mintues. The sytlists are rude and think they are much better than they are. I am paying them, they are not paying me. I do love Claude, a perfectionist and an expert at her work. I don't think it is worth $30.00 to have my eyebrows threaded which leads me to believe managment will take advantage of their clients rather than have their care foremost in mind.I will contiune to go for Claude alone but never again will any other service be utilized at Identity Salons.

In my quest to find a good hair stylist after moving to Cincinnati, I tried this salon as a walk-in.

The receptionist was not friendly. I was given a choice between two hairdressers -- one who was new to hair for a little over $20 and one with experience at $70. I never pay that much for hair, but did not want someone brand new.

What they did NOT say was that the hairdresser assigned had a second job as a rep for Bedhead product. The hairdresser was decent at pushing the product, and unfortunately not as good at cutting hair. It looked fine the first 24 hours, and then horrendous after that point. And, I had made only one request about ensuring that certain locks of hair could be tucked behind my ear so they did not fall into my face when presenting or eating meals with clients, and reiterated several times that this one thing was important and showing her what I wanted. I spent the next 5 months trying to grow out that section of hair because she decided to do her own thing anyway! Plus, I had to go get the back cut again 3 weeks later because the short layers were not growing out correctly or evenly since she had not done them right.

Additionally, she encouraged me to come back as repeat customers helped her to raise her prices.

The staff is snobbish and cold. I went for a relaxing experience and left angry and stressed. Give your money to a spa that will treat you like a human being - with respect and empathy.

Went to Identity with 10 friends/family the day before my wedding for manicures and pedicures. The entire time the staff was rude to us and rolled their eyes saying to other customers, "we have this huge obnoxious wedding party to deal with." We were not loud and obnoxious so I don't understand why they couldn't be accomodating. Then the following day, 5 of us had our polish pealing off our toes and nails. I had to pay to have my nails repainted on the day of my wedding. When I called to complain, they sent me a $50 gift card....hardly a dent in what the orginal bill was for. ...let alone the stress of adding a nail appointment to my already busy wedding day. They said they had a bad batch of oil. I think it was inexperienced nail techs.

My husband made an appointment for a massage, manicure and pedicure and I was so excited to go. The massage went well, although I had to wait 20 mins past appt time. The manicure was just ok, my nails still have ridges from being buffed w/ a stone but the pedicure was the worst. As I was discussing the pedi w/ the manicurist I asked why should I have me toenails polished if I just had to put socks and my boots back on afterward. She didn't hesitate but said it's just the fact you had in done! When I returned home that evening the pedi was ruined because I had to peel my socks off my toenails. She could have just suggested that she put a clear coat on them after the soaking and such. I will not go back nor will I recommend the spa to anyone!!!

I was shocked to find such a highly recommended salon so incompetent. Upon checking in at my 2nd appt (my 1st appt turned into a "consultation" as the stylist decided she didn't have time to "properly" wrap my hair for a pre-scheduled perm) the receptionist told me she would let my stylist know I was there. I went to the waiting area where I waited. I flipped through the only 3 magazines there and then waited some more. And some more. 30 minutes later I went back to the receptionist only to be told my stylist wasn't there because she'd called in sick. Why wasn't I told this when I checked in? She said a mssg had been left for me--yet they had no phone number on file for me. An apology or explanation might have been helpful but I was offered neither. Not a good experience.

It cost $180 to get my hair dyed and cut and the lousy beautician didn't even call me by the right name. The whole place is stuffy and the staff is bitchy.

DE is the BEST for color and I've tried many high end salons; nothing compares. Great cuts as well. Pricey, but well worth it.

Identity Salon and Spa is expensive, however, they are not as pricey as many of the other well-recognized spas in the area. I have gotten several packages from Identity as gifts, and their spa experience is phenomenal! I love the facials, massages and pedicures. The products they carry are great too. Their hair stylists don't seem to take much time or care and last time I came in to have my hair "styled" as part of a gift package, I got my hair washed and blow-dried straight. That's it. Nothing more at all. Took all of 10 minutes.
