This place does NOT warrant the high ratings it has been getting. While I agree that the manager and staff are okay people, the place itself is an absolute mess. By all appearances it is a dilapidated thrift store that sells music.Yes, they literally have tons of LPs (in addition to cds), but 98% of them are old Christmas carol albums, goofy kids records, and no-name bands (who the bloody hell are "The Nylons"?). NONE of the LPs are in great condition (nor are any of the cds for that matter). The stuff is stashed about haphazardly in boxes and bins that are overflowing, it's really like going to a junkyard. The back 1/3 of the store is apparently "off limits" although there is nothing demarcating where this "off limits" line is at (it's not a separate room). If the owner had one iota of business sense he would clean the place up, organize everything, and throw away the 98% of stuff that will never sell...but perhaps he thinks the day will soon come when thousands of Englebert Humperdink fans will descend on the place and demand their own tattered copy of "christmas tyme".The neighborhood itself is incredibly ghetto, and the store is every bit as tired, dusty, and raggedy as its surroundings (there's a vacant Montgomery Ward two blocks away...and they went out of business 10 years ago!). I'm all for patronizing hole-in-the-wall mom and pop joints, but in this case "pop" can't be bothered to do anything other than run the cash register and the boom box.I'm not saying to stay away, but just be warned, you will spend an hour or more trying to find anything worth buying, and even then, it will be covered in a 1/8" layer of dust and will likely be found in a 40 pound bin laying about on the floor. The saving grace is that the prices are rather low.
