I have to say when I was referred to the Kenneth's Academy, I was scared. I had seen my stylist at Salon Lofts for 12 years and liked her but was getting bored with my hair. I'd tell her I wanted something new she's say "okay!" and I'd leave looking the same. But my friend has been going to the Kenneth's Academy for a couple years and always very please with her services. So I decided I would give just a haircut a shot. When I called to schedule I described my hair and asked which stylist I should see, I was referred to Stephen. I hadn't ever had my hair cut by a man before but the girl assured me he was very good. So I arrive for my appointment a little early and only after a minute or so stephen came out to greet me warmly showing an interest in my day chatting pleasantly. When I sat down we started talking about my hair he told me he liked my length but asked me if I felt like my hair was boring. I said yes and he agreed. then he started talking about color (which I did not book for) and how he thought making me a little bit blonder would compliment my skin and add dimension to my hair...which he said I needed. I was a little annoyed because he was persistently talking about it even though i only wanted a haircut. so i told him i wanted just the haircut. we discussed my haircut he talked about which products i need to be using. it turned out to be a great cut and beautiful stlye. after my styling was done he asked me again about color and actually brought out color samples to show me his "vision" I must say I was intrigued. He said ask your husband ask your friends what they think and next time we'll talk about it more. then he walked me to the front desk and talked more about product. at kenneth's they have their own products which stephen swore were his favorite. although hes a little pushy with the product he clearly knows them all frontward and backward and i ended up trying a few and like he promised i do really like them. so i did ask my girlfriends about my color and they said listen to him! i scheduled again with stephen and he seemed genuinely excited to see me again and that i wanted to do the color he suggested. The color turned out perfect. It is really a beautiful blonde that looks natural. The only thing I don't like about the Academy at all is that the stylists don't stay there. They are there for a few months then go to the regualr Kenneth's salons. I asked the receptionist if I would be able to find him when he goes and she told me all i had to do was ask. All in all it was a great experience and I really liked Stephen. He is funny and very creative and you can really tell he has a passion for his job. (and my husband likes him to! he loves my hair)

Kenneth's offers the latest styling techniques, with professionally trained staff. They offer a full range of spa services from facials, manicures, pedicures, massage and much more. I've been a customer for over 10 years and would recommend it to any of my friends. They also have their own professional line of styling products!

Robyn cut my hair and did a great job. She told me that their are moving her to their new location when it opens in Kingsdale. I might have to drive there to get her to cut my hair. I would highly recommend her.

I went to the Festival Lane location and noticed it was unusually cold inside for December. I looked at their thermostat and it read 58 degrees. I thought that since they just opened, maybe the head hadn't kicked on yet. I kept mentioning that it was cold but noone would tell me what was going on. The sytlist said, it will warm up once we get to the back. It was colder back there than it was up front. After asking about it a few more times, they told me the heat wasn't working. I had my hair done and it was like sitting out side freezing. The manager of the store was called but never came in. All he did was tell the girls to shut off the heat and turn it back on. that didn't work. I called the corporate office about it and got such a RUDE person on the line that I will never, EVER go back to their salons. They offered no appology until pressed on it. I told them that I had come down with a sore throat as a result of the visit and they told me that it was because germs are in the air and people just get that sort of thing. They offered no compensation. It was appauling. I called the next higher up person and didn't even receive a return phone call. The attitude of everyone was not that of a professional salon. Don't waste your time or money.

I went to Kenneth's to get my hair cut prior to my wedding. I'm totally laid-back and normally very tolerant of something as silly as a not-so-hot haircut, but this was the most horrible hair experience I've EVER had, so beware.

When I called to schedule with my regular stylist, she had only a 7:30 slot. I told them I couldn't make it until 7:45, and they said that was fine. When I arrived at 7:45, they turned me away. Being flexible, I agreed to reschedule for a different location without putting up a fight. Not knowing that Sawmill/Dublin was their TRAINING LOCATION, I accepted an appointment there the next day. When I arrived & saw the sign that said Kenneth's ACADEMY, I was worried & called them to make sure I'd receive the same level of service as with my regular stylist. They assured me I would, and I foolishly believed them.

Unfortunately, Shannon, the girl who cut my hair, completely butchered it. Knowing I was having it trimmed for my wedding, she showed zero interest whatsoever in making it a special experience. She only cared about getting me in and out of there so she could see her next client and go home. I wanted to keep it long. She chopped me, then gave my thick, curly hair a blunt edge with no layers, & didn't even asked if I liked it- just shooed me out of the chair to pay. I've had bad haircuts before; this was simply the worst. When I left I was in too much shock to say anything (wish I would've)- have you ever had this experience where you feel like you can't speak up? I emailed their customer service people 3 times before I had any response, and their only offer was to give me another cut w/ another stylist (my wedding was over by then, it was pointless).

I hope that if you go to Kenneth's, your experience is different. But if you asked me, I'd say do NOT go to Kenneth's and do NOT go to Shannon, both for bad customer service and unskilled, uncaring stylists. Now I cry when I see my wedding pictures because my hair is too short.

I wanted red highlights and got orange. the girl used a toner istead of color. It probably had something to do with the fact she put the wrong color toner in and then washed it out and used another toner over it. she missed alot of spots. each strand looked like a zebra. then i couldnt even get my hair cut b/c she took so long trying to fix what she messed up the place had closed and she asked if i could come back tomorrow so she could fix it. I called and talked to a manager the next day and she argued with me instead of understanding my frustration. she kept on telling me that red will fade and i hadnt washed my hair yet. I would never go back ever again

People are always friendly when I go. The staff offers drinks and there are snacks in the spa (yogurt pretzels and trail mix). I am always pleased with the hair cuts and spa services they give. It truely is a pampering thing to give to yourself that is not way expensive. . . but it certainly can be if you don't watch out.

This salon has moved actually, to the Avery Road/Perimeter Loop area. It's a beautiful space that is relaxing and soothing. The stylists, from what I could see from my few visits, were all talented and knowledgeable. I have seen a few of Kenneth's upper-level stylists at locations all around the city and I would equally recommend Becki, David, and Michael at the Avery location. They are all highly skilled and have a lot of experience with doing hair. I have loved every Kenneth's salon I've been to, but this one is the best of all of them. Book an appointment for a wonderful haircut and color with one of these talented stylists and I'm sure that you won't be disappointed!

I recently went to Kenneth's for the first time and saw Becki, a highly professional and talented stylist who gave me the best cut and color I've ever had! The salon was clean and all the employees acted professional and were courteous and gracious. I would recommend this to anyone who isn't pleased with their current stylist or who wants to try something new.
