I am in about 9 months to my Moreland Home. All in all I am happy. But there are some things people should know. By all means I am not trashing them as I have many friends who have homes built by other companies and they all say you have to stay on top your builder. As far as moreland, I can say I was pleased with building and if any issue arose during the process they were quick to fix and communicated such. You must watch and demand things are how you want them or else in the end you will end up with something different. But again my friends tell me they encountered the same thing.
As far as follow up service, when you tell the company of your concerns you usually get a song and dance, then when you push back they will fix your issue. This does disappoint me due to the fact that we spent our hard earned money on a house and they act like the issue is no big deal and give you an excuse on every issue. Then like I said when you say NO that is not right then they back down. Not necessary, and annoying. All in all good house, no major issues nice neighbors and good area.

Pros: Communication during building

Cons: make excuses at times

I finished building a home this past summer with moreland. As far as the comment of poor customer service, I would disagree. They returned calls promptly and addressed issues. I can say I felt the head contractor was hard to speak with. Any issue was dealt with through the sales department not the contractor directly. He did seemed somewhat insulted when I asked about why things were being done how they were. All in all, though it was fair and my questions were answered. I would have also liked an electrical walk through, but they do not do it. Home is good and No issues. If this is your first home, just research things in a library or on the internet. I learned so much that allowed me to ask the necessary questions. Don't trust anyone when they build your home, double check all their work no matter who you choose. Their object is to get in and out and to do it cheaply and quickly as possible. They classic saying I found from the many contractors and workers I spoke with during this process was "it looks good from my house!" Meaning it does not matter after they are gone! This was said by several contractors I consulted during the whole building process, not from any of the Moreland Guys. If you like the homes, do it, just keep up on your building and visit the site often!

Pros: Informative and Helpful

Cons: Needs to be more one on one discussion

If this is the first time building a home, spend the extra money to get better service. They omit to tell you certian things and if this is the first time you might not know to ask those questions
