Great vet for big and small animals, have used them for my horses, cats and dogs. They do a great job overtime. Wouldn't use anyone else!

Their prices are reasonable, but if value your pet, I would go elsewhere. Maybe in the past it was decent. We have taken our puppy here for the past year, from the time he was 6wks old for his shots. Since we are new pet owners, I always asked a lot of questions :) But, the answers varied depending on who I talked to. That should have been my first red flag. When it came to heartworm and flea medication I asked about an all in one...told there wasn't one and paid a small fortune for two separate medications...only to find out afterwards there was one. Now while their prices seem great...they are very comparable to most others in town once you add on everything that most other clinics include upfront in total cost. We decided to have our dog neutered. Mairs charges around $150 and they offer laser, which is great, for an extra $30...I thought-cool! Everywhere else is around $250. I talked to the lady on the phone for a bit and was told about the procedure. What I wasn't told is that they don't include (or make it mandatory) to test your pet for the anesthetic effects or include pain medications of any sort. Now maybe it was naive of me, but when I called other places, they were upfront and everything was included and mandatory. Call me crazy, but I would rather pay someone who seems to actually care about my pet, makes the procedure as safe as possible and keeps them comfortable. Mairs also puts your pet out cold and it takes hours for them to wake up...vs. the mask where they start to wake up w/in minutes of removing it. No one in the office takes responsibility when confronted...they just say it wasn't them I talked to and their office manager could care less. Now this was only our experiences when it came to vaccinations, meds, and neutering. I don't even want to think about how they handle major surgeries. Quite disappointed. We have taken our files and found a clinic that enjoys what they do and wants the best for your pet.

I really love Mairs. We used to take the animals up to Cleveland road, but we immediately changed that when one of our cats fell extremely ill. Mairs took her in within 20mins of my calling and in my opinion saved her life. She stopped breathing at one point. She was only two months old at the time and now she is a thriving rambunctious kitty of 3! The nurses were so wonderful, one of them sat with me and held my hand while they worked on Bella. Now all our animals go to Mairs. I have never had a bad experience. In this case, this smaller clinic more than makes up for being small by providing wonderful loving care.

I have been with Mairs clinic for over 20 years. I have never had a problem with any of the staff and or doctors. I would never think about changing. All of the pet owners that I see come in and out of the office don't seem to be upset with anything. Sad to hear about the bad experiences, but I think you will find it at any Vets. office. There are allways some that would never be satisfied no matter what! Keep up the good work Drs. and staff!!!!

My dog had to have his leg amputated and Joe took great care of our dog. It didn't cost so much that we questioned the decision either. The dog was a very large dog and he bled a lot and they took him in and took care of him for several days free of charge. Their prices don't make you think twice about preventive care either. I would recommend this place to anybody with animals but not the money for high dollar vets with little or no experience. These guys have been around forever and are great people with great values.

Very bad place....they butcher dogs that go in for routine surgeries. They send them home covered in blood & unable to walk! They will NOT give out pain meds. They don't care about their clients. DO NOT use Mairs!!!

I have been going here for sevel years with my 2 dogs. They have taken great care of them. I first started goin here when my dogs were puppies. I called around to alot of different vets
and Mairs vet. seem to be the cheapest. I recently had to leave my dog over night for a surgery. It cost me $80.00. (for overnight stay and surgery.) I called a vet closer to me and it was almost double for the same procedure. I like mairs vet not only for their prices but their staff is friendly too. The hours of operations are good and they have an emergency number too. if your looking for a friendly vet please give mairs a try.
