I am a former student of this school. I left the organization back in 2003, but only because I started my own organization that year. When I left, I was treated with the utmost respect by Grandmaster Choi. He is an admirable man with a huge heart.

Obviously, he has a business to run and bills to pay. Signing an agreement is part of just about any professional school. When a person signs an agreement it should be done with the intentions of honoring it.

Anyone who complains about it, ESPECIALLY on a public forum such as this, has some major character issues to begin with. This country was founded on honoring commitments.

Even though I am no longer a student I can say with 100% certainty that OMAC is a fine martial arts organization and teaches the highest quality martial arts in the U.S.A.

I wouldn't have trained with OMAC for 20 years if I didn't believe in them. I still maintain contact with the organization as well. You can't do any better in my opinion.

This is John's wife and I know my husband very well. I've been married to him for 12 years and know that John will not lie when it comes down to trouble. First of all, John does not flirt on women as one person say. Second of all, John is into Martial Arts and does not have time for foolishness. He hated one woman at the school name Anna who claim that John like her, but that's not true at all. And for Debbie Grimes she kept coming over to our house not realizing I was home, but John never open the door. Third of all, I too work with John to help clean the school at 161 near Blockbuster for Mr. Choi. I've spoken to Mr. Choi to verify that John was telling the truth. This school fault John for no reasons. John does not need to be anyone else to speak his mind and no matter what he will stand on the truth. I have no choice but to agree with John about this school. This is not a good school if they are going to fault someone for telling the truth. Mr. Bill Wood and Mr. Ray S. were John's instructors and as far as I'm concerned, they never had a problem with John. Luckily for my husband, he moved on and became a 2nd Black Belt in Martial Arts at another school that saw John's true potenial. Today he teaches Martial Arts to many teens and adult alike and they all love him.

If you are looking to become a complete human being I believe it is essential to train all aspects of oneself. This martial arts school offers such training. It encourages you to look inside yourself and discover what amazing potential you have and the strength you have inside you to tackle all of life's trials and tribulations. As Senior Grand Master Choi often states "Life is like the ocean sometimes calm and peaceful and sometimes like a hurricane" Master Choi is guiding his fellow man by teaching them how to train their mind, body, spirit and emotions in order to not only handle life in a more peaceful manner but also find the inner peace needed in order to have and maintain a happier life.

Aside from all of that this school offers so much more than Taekwondo. There is also Hapkido, Gumdo sword, Kimoodo healing art and Little Tigers kids program for ages 3-5. There are also competition/demo classes instructed by 4th Dan Moo Sung Choi and they train intensely for taekwondo sparring competitions. This school is also affiliated with the USAT which is the governing body of the US Olympics in Taekwondo.

OMAC has many schools throughout the world including Canada, Germany and England and is headquartered at 1349 Brice Rd Reynoldsburg, OH.

This is a martial arts "college". That is how serious martial artists view it and like many who go off to colleges and universities every year for school those colleges and universities have tuition and do not have the option of month-to-month payments. Obviously before signing anything in life be sure of what you are doing. And in this sense you are improving your mind, body and spirit and how could that EVER be a bad thing. Good luck!

I work as SrGrandmaster Choi's administrative assistant in the afternoons. OMAC is an excellent school and is run in a professional manner. The school has been in existence for a very long time. The contracts are explained in detail to each potential student so no one can say that they have been exploited. The complaints that I have seen seem to me to be completely unjustified.

Oriental Martial Arts College is a great school! It's a shame that someone would slander the school and Master Choi's name after all of the good that he has done in the past 40+ years. I have always seen Master Choi as such a caring, understanding, and patient person who will, as a master and instructor, show students to learn discipline -among so many other important values of life. I am not an expert on the history of the school, but I do know that if Master Choi ran a school that holds true to the allegations that have been made, would he still have students, instructors or masters that have been with him for 20-30+ years? Would he have students that have trained at his school in the past- and had to take a break, cancel their membership, or just simply stop coming to classes due to other personal situations, obligations or relocation, etc- who come back just to visit him to say "hello" or even to resume training after anywhere between 1 to 10/15+ years? If those allegations were true, would Master Choi's Oriental Martial Arts College have lasted over 40 years?

I DONT THINK SO!

Oh- and by the way- any contract signed by both parties causes them both to be bound by its terms to continue to honor not only your side of the agreement once you sign up, but the other side as well. Maybe the reason why you think there is no way out of it is because your reason to quit/get out of the contract was not part of the agreement as explained in the contract. As much as I know that the school tries to work with their students to help out where it can, I know that Master Choi would not try to screw anyone over just to make some money... the school is also a business, where certain rules and agreements must be kept in order to stay as a business and not crumble-as any business would do.

I plan to continue training at this school and would recommend it to others without a second thought because I have personally seen what this martial arts school and its programs have to offer, and the difference that it has made in its students not only in physical health but in mental and emotional health.

My name is John Petway and I'm here to tell you the truth about Master Choi. Master Choi who is suppose to set fair and good example. Master Choi is the type of person who would allow one on one conversation into his office when there is a problem without getting the other person invovle to fix the problem. This is what happen to me. Two people had a problem with me that was base on a lie. When he confronted me with the issue. He never allow or believe me that I was really telling the truth. He never even bother getting the other person complainting into the office to address the issue. Instead he kick me out of the school. This was totally unprofessional and I am hurt by Master Choi. I've clean this man school at 161 and at Brice Rd and also clean his house for almost a year. He kick me out because he favor others over me. I've never lie to this man. Master Choi is not who he says he is. To this day I am confused about his leadership. Bad leadership equal bad school to begin with. I will always remember this and I vowed to tell everyone to be careful of Master Choi. Do not go to this school there are better school that really cares about you.
