In ShortBenihana started out as a tiny four-table restaurant in New York City's theater district before becoming an international chain. Diners sit around large tables where chefs ostentatiously chop, slice, stir-fry and grill. Entree options are simple--shrimp, chicken, steak and scallops--and preparation is uniform. Every entree comes with a similar stock of sides: rice, onion soup, shrimp appetizer, iceberg lettuce drizzled with dressing, sauteed vegetables and green tea.

The "Shrimp Sauce" is to DIE for!

If you're looking for Teppan yaki style Japanese, then look no further! This place really is the best, although a little pricey. I reccomend going for lunch if you're interested in trying it but not willing to shell out $25-35 for dinner. They have a creamy sauce that they say is best on shrimp and other seafood...hence the name shrimp sauce. It is rich and delicious on anything! This place is not to be missed. They recently renovated the interior so now it's even nicer inside. It was a nice update to this already great restaurant!
