We purchased our first artificial Christmas tree 30 years ago from this very Litehouse Pool store on Broadview Road and returned last week to select and buy a new one. Randy was absolutely amazing in showing us the many trees available

Three years ago I purchased a pool and a hot tub from the Akron store. The hot tub was supposed to be a 1 year old floor model. What was delivered was a 3 year old hot tub. After many attempts to rectify this I was finally given a pool heater for my troubles, which were many. I now find out three years later that the heater was only meant for a 900 gallon pool. My pool is 13,500 gallons. Awful store that will only sell you as much overpriced chemicals as they can regardless of whether or not you need them, or they will actually work. Do your homework and buy your chemicals at WalMart. These jokers don't know what they are doing, nor do they even care.

Called Litehouse for service on a leaking pipe attached to pump for our indoor pool. I also told Diana, the scheduler that I wanted help w/staining in the pool.

I was warned that it would cost $85 for the service call, and an additional $85/hr for the actual service.

The young man that came out took nearly an hour to write up an ESTIMATE to fix the plumbing and had no idea what to do with the stains. He took a water sample & promised I would hear from them later that afternoon.

He charged me $184 FOR WRITING UP AN ESTIMATE. Needless to say, I never heard from them about the water sample. WHAT A RIP OFF!

Cons: Very disappointed in our first experience.

We wanted them to come out and open our pool... it was a little pricey. But we were told their price included hooking up the filter, cleaning the winter cover, hooking up the skimmer, and shocking the pool (although there was an additional charge for all chemicals used). We were also told we had to drain as much water off the top of the pool as we could prior to their visit. Anyways, the guys that came out didn't do half of what they said, and we eneded up spending $70 more than the quote. First, they said our winter cover had a hole in it so they wouldn't clean it. They said we needed new hoses, so they didn't hook up the skimmer or vaccum the bottom of the pool. Then, he said our skimmer had a small leak, and he fixed with putty (took him a couple minutes, charged us an additional $30). Although he said it was a temporary fix that could last up to a couple years- it actually only lasted about 3 days.

They ALMOST charged us an additional fee because we had water on the top of our pool cover, but they later returned that, as there was in fact not much at all- they had to do no draining themselves, and the cover came off just fine.

Also, I have yet to get a hold of the woman in charge of service directly- I always have to leave a voicemail and she will return my call. And on Mondays, her voicemail box is full, so you can't even leave a message. This should have been my first red flag.

Ridiculous, I do NOT recommend.

Business Response:

SORRY...... In all aspects of our retail and service businesses, we strive to EXCEED customer expectations. I'm sorry we did not succeed in this case. We employ many qualified and experienced technicians and would only recommend repairs to existing equipment when needed. Although we receive many Thank You letters and praises for our staff, sometimes we fail to meet a customer's needs. We thank you for expressing your opinion and hope that we might be provided another opportunity to prove that our service department is truley exceptional in most cases. During peak seasons, our phones may sometimes be busy and we may have to rely on voicemail. In many cases calls are returned within 15 - 30 minutes, but messages left during hours when the service department is closed will be returned as soon as our staff arrives on Monday morning. Service Department Hours: 8 am - 6 pm Mon - Fri. and additional hours are added during peak seasons to include Saturdays. Please contact us through our web site www.litehouse.com or e-mail directly to customerservice@litehouse.com if we can help in any way!! Thank you, Chris Curcio President Litehouse Products
