After many years of dropped calls, bad service and just plain pain-in-the-butt dealings with these people (actually, with their call center people in Pakistan or India or the Philippines or wherever they are), I switched to another cell provider. They sent me a final bill, but they cut off access to my internet CB account when I switched cell providers - so I couldn't pay online. Called to pay (and waited for 15 minutes for a CS rep - all the time listening to a message about how I should pay online) and they charged me $5 extra to pay by phone! GOD THIS COMPANY SUCKS!

It would literally take me over an hour to write out all the issues we have with Cincinnati Bell. I am counting down every last miserable day (349 to be exact) that we have left on our contract. This is an extremely dishonest company and I don't know how they stay in business. Their service is what I would expect if I jet-packed back to 1996 and picked up a cell phone. I was on roam last summer when I visited Missouri- seriously, I didn't even know that "roam" still existed. I also have a tendency to go "over" my "unlimited" data- hate when that happens. I have made it a personal mission to keep any other unsuspecting consumers from switching to this pitiful excuse for a company. I would pay twice what we're paying now just to get some decent service.

I wish I could give less than 1 star. I have been with CBW for over 10 years. In fact, my wife was one of there first wireless customers. In the past couple of years, they have secretly changed our plan and rate. They are less than helpful on the phone. Just today, I have been on the phone for over 40 minutes because they still have not fixed my rate which has been wrong for the last 6 months. I keep getting transferred to different departments that I have never heard of ( combined billing department?). I am definitely leaving CBW and getting a iPhone this afternoon.

I have been with Cincinnati Bell for over 10 years with just their cell service. Their service use to be superb and they would gladly handle any calls. They have greatly gone down hill in the past 4 years. They use to be the cheapest provider but I'm finding out their now bi-annual rate increases and plan changes are putting them in last place. They constantly change their services and only half the time have I been notified that such a change took place.

The most recent change was the straw that broke the camel's back. For the last year we have been on their 3000 minute family plan with UNLIMITED family data on two of our five phones. I log into my account a week ago and notice my data is over the limit. I'm puzzled as I thought it was unlimited (I was told it was capped at 5 gb, but I never went near there so it was unlimited to me.) I look and it says I now have a Family 250 MB data plan. Well, 5 GB to 250 MB is a huge difference. That's 1/20 of what I had.

I then look at their website and see that in fact the data plan has changed and a 2 GB plan is now $20 compared to my $10 plan. I looked at every national cell carrier and found Cicninnati Bell was now near the middle of the pack besides T-Mobile. T-Mobile was $70/month cheaper after the changes. I called Cincinnati Bell for one last time to see what they would do to keep me.

I was told by the hard to understand woman that kept calling me maam (whom, she knew my name and even said hello sir once, but only once) that I was sent a letter in December of my plan change. Well, I never received the letter and I have copies of all plan rate increases I've received. She then went to say that I could change to the 2 GB plan but it would not take effect till next month since I already incurred the overages. My overages on the two lines were in the area of $80 worth. I explained if I had known of the change then why would I not have changed data plans to not have an $80 overage. She continued tell me I received a letter of the change and that changes cannot be made mid-month anymore as they cannot pro-rate anything. Well, I've never heard of that and that use to be my favorite thing with Cincinnati Bell.

Low and be-hold, I switched. I still have one line (it was unused but free) that I need to cancel to cancel my plan so I'm not sure what they will tell me my final bill is. I know one thing though, I will not pay a penny more than last month. I will never be doing business with Cincinnati Bell Wireless again. Their rates are no longer cheaper and their service is the same as T-Mobile (both roam on AT&T when needed.) They are only out to get top dollar and not customer satisfaction, which is what they use to strive in.

Bad customer service does not even begin to describe Cincinnati Bell. Good luck if you currently use them, because you will need it. If at all possible, do not use them and try another company. We have had nothing but problems since we signed up and are looking forward to the day we do not have to be associated with this terrible excuse for a company.

Awful deceptive business practices and service. Changed texting policy without written notice to customers. Charged ridiculous amounts and sent me a bill AFTER I cancelled.

Switched my service after 7 successful years with Sprint and am disgusted. The online bundle deal with home and Internet was very attracted especially when my Sprint bill was $60 more per month with 3-phones. I've been with them now for 2-months and have dropped more calls (zero with Sprint) but whats more frustating is I'm dropping them from my home office! Went on vacation and had no service South of KY...it was so bad, I ended up buying a pay as you go phone to have service. Another major issues is that they have yet to bundle the wireless with my home service which means I'm getting raked over the coals with pricing and no receiving the bundle discount. When I called in the first time, they showed no record of my wireless account so I spent over an hour on the phone while they searched. Once found, they ensured me my next bill would be reflective of my discounts which of course didn't happen. I'm dreading the next week of calling to dispute my contract and hopefully get out of. In the meantime, although we got dinged with cancellation fees with Sprint, we are reestablishing our service with them next week. I'm so disappointed with CB and can't believe that I'm in their home network with such inadequate service coverage.

Over 9 years ago we bought the home security system and monitoring service from Cinn Bell. Effective 8/1/11 they have sold the monitoring to Guardian. Homes will be "monitored" from Detroit now, not Cincinnati. CBT will NOT let us out of our "contract", which we did not even know we had. They clearly state on their web page that they have no "contracts" for Complete Protection and that the monitoring is local. They also continue to sell the service without letting folks know they have changed. Speaking to the "customer service" people (once you can actually get through after being on hold for a long, long time) does no good - not even to a "supervisor". With a CBT bill almost $200 per month (internet, home phone, cell phones, security system) I am looking forward to the day I can cancel all business with this company. Beware - FIND another carrier in the Cincinnati area; there are others.

I do not have the time or enough characters to describe all the issues and complaints I have for this joke of a company. I have my home & business landlines, wireless, and internet bundled (I know I'm stupid!!). Not once has my bill ever even bill close to the low quoted price I was offered. When I call to find out why my bill is so high they don't have an answer for me. So, I guess that means they can charge whatever they want. "Highspeed" internet?? Haha... maybe if you're lucky. Infact it might not work at all. Cellphone? I can see a tower, but I have no bars. Shouldn't your Cincinnati Bell wireless phone be able to get a signal in say.... Cincinnati? I'm not in Amish country! The new billboards I see all over make me laugh "Cincinnat Bell Wireless - the fastest network any where!" Really? There should be an asterisk *if you can get a signal. Three times the landline AT MY BUSINESS has been "unplugged" (technician's word) for no apparent reason, and it took 3 days to resolve it each time. I had no phone service AT MY BUSINESS FOR 9 DAYS!!!! Inconceivable!!!! Triple plus bonus I had to deal with super snotty customer service reps after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, praying the whole time the call wouldn't be dropped on my cellphone, then they told me I'd have to pay $75 an hour for someone to come out to the fix problem. Of course technician discovered that the problem was not at my location, but that I was "unplugged" at Cincinnati Bell. Everybody I know who has Cincinnati Bell is not happy. I've never heard anybody say anything good about this company.
Looking forward to my contract ending, less than a year left. Although I'm sure I'll get to deal with some crap when they try to charge me for switching or something. I know they'll have some final goodbye present for me!
I would not recommend this company!!

Agree that Cincinnati Bell is heavy handed. I have been with them for years however, and would like to switch, but have four cell phones to buy if I do. and my cell service where I call is adequate. One way to avoid problems with CBW is to buy your phone outright so you're on a month to month.

However, if you have a problem with Cinti. Bell (or any utility) the quickest way to get problems worked out in a hurry is to threaten to file a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). You can also file a complaint with the FCC, and also you can file an on-line complaint with the Ohio attorney general. when you do this, they will be contacted by the entity, and they will have to respond - this costs them money, and when a PUCO complaint is filed, they will likely have to contact their lawyer whose probably on retainer for $250+ an hour. Plus PUCO looks at complaint resolution as one element on rate setting.

I got Cincinnati Bell when there was rumors Verizon Wireless was going to meterd data plans. I decided to switch to Cincinnati Bell because being a small carrier they would probaly not be metering data until it became a common practice. I loved their service at first worked great, good voice quality and data speeds were faster than Verizon. Then around Feburary 2011 I started getting dropped calls slow data speeds or no data at all. not getting all of my text messages and taking 30 minutes until I receive a picture message.
called cincinnati bell tech support they said all 4 of my phone were defective and I need to call the manufactor or use the warenty on my account. I know there is no way that 4 phones made by different companies are all bad. I also found out that they no longer own any towers, they sold them all to American Tower Corportation and have an agreement to use their towers. I finnaly gave up dealing with their inept technical support and decided to pay out of the contract and go back to Verizon Wireless.

Cincinnati Bell reminds me of the Mafia. They sell you "protection" on their phones only to find that you must cough-up another $100 for a replacement phone that is only 10 months old. What a horrible warranty program! When you tell them that you are leaving, they suddenly make you a lowball offer to stay. They leave out the fact that the low offer is for a limited time.

Do not do business with Cincinnati bell! On our business line we were promised a fax line in writing for $32.00 a month. The bill turned out to be more than $60 per month and they refused to honor their written quote. Because of this, I switched our home phones (2), DirecTv, alarm monitoring, and our internet service to Time Warner.

Our Cincinnati Bell home internet service was so bad that it often measured a measly 8/10ths of a meg. We now have over 50 meg service at the same cost. Cincinnati Bell came out once to attempt a fix and then told us that the modem-like speed was faster than promised.

Cincinnati Bell Wireless promised to pay our cancellation fees to switch to them. They paid 1/2. When our business wireless service was so poor that we could barely use the Blackberry phones, Cincinnati Bell told us we had to call Blackberry--at an additional charge--to try to get them working as they should. I went through 6 Blackberrys in 1-1/2 years.

Cincinnati Bell's Wireless service was so bad that I paid the $800 cancellation fee to return to Sprint. To add insult to injury, Cincinnati Bell charged me a full month's service for two days when I cancelled. That was another $250.00.

After all this, I am happier with our services from other companies than I was with Cincinnati Bell. It was worth the abusive $1050.00 to get away from the poor service and misrepresentation.

As soon as our $700 a month Business phone contract is up, I will be choosing a provider that is not affiliated with Cincinnati Bell.

Cincinnati Bell, you should be ashamed of the way you treat your loyal customers. Stay away from Cincinnati Bell.

If I could rate this company 0 Stars I would. I have never encountered such an incompetent company in my life. I had a personal wireless and business wireless account with them-all Blackberry phones. They messed everything up for me. First of all, their coverage area is horrible-there are a lot of dead zones and non 3G zones even in Cincinnati and Clermont County. I constantly had dropped calls, causing a lot of frustration on my business phones. The voice quality was terrible, cutting out all the time. I rarely received text or voice mails or even picture messages from other carriers. At least 5 out of the 8 months I had their service, there were a lot of hidden and additional charges on my bill. Try to call customer service and you get someone who doesn't speak English and can't fix the problem, even if you ask for a supervisor, then you get hung up on. The internet on my Blackberry always disconnected for no reason also. I have nothing good to say about this company. Avoid them!! You will have nothing but problems. Jack Cassidy better upgrade or put some money into this company or they will go under. Wouldn't be a big loss.

I've had CB for about 4 years. The coverage is mediocre, for example, Amelia (where I work) isn't covered by 3G nor is Dayton. What really upset me was when I changed carriers (to Verizon). I canceled on Feb 24. My billing cycle for the previous month ended on Feb 20. They charged me a full month's bill for 4 days of coverage. Their explanation was "It's in the contract." Caveat Emptor.

Cincinnati Bell does not stand behind a contract! Sign a contract with Cincinnati Bell and it is a one way contract - their way! Two months into a contract with them for two phones they send me a notice increasing my bill... I stood my ground and they did it anyway with a credit for the difference until the end of the contract. If I had not stood my ground they were looking to just get away with it. Now when my rebate came for the two phones they had the ball to send it via a debit card! WTH? When I asked them about that they said too bad that is the only way it comes! Shame on you Cincinnati Bell for poor customer service and miss leading people to think that the rebate in someway could off set the expenses? I can't wait for this two year contract to end so I can be set free! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CINCINNATI BELL!

Ahhhh the good old days.
I have been with CBW for 6 years. all was great until last year when I re signed my business contract - BIG MISTAKE!
the reps they had were great and made things happen. Now it's "service - what service? You want service?" While in a contract my bill had jumped $200.00 ( I have 4 phones on the account) My business reps can't seem to return a call in a timely manner.

We are 50 year customers of Cincinnati Bell...now bundled with Direct TV, Zoomtown, CB wireless and land line. I UPDATED MY old Nokia for a sleek square Alcatel Flip phone for $129.00+$20.00 exchange fee...all explained to me by Kelsey - she never mentioned nor explained the data functions...I was newbee! WHAT???? Now a $24.00 charge/year NOT TO HAVE internet - which we blocked in December after a $400 charge for accidently hitting buttons we did not know connected somewhere. (Yes - that charge was removed after we threatened to CAMP in the CB Store until the problem was resolved!) Now, locked in a contract for two years we are "out-of-the-blue" assessed a new fee - AFTER THE FACT!...a fee for NOT BUYING CONNECTIONS. Cincinnati Bell - SHAME ON YOU. We will ASAP be customers of T-Mobile or Verizon or ANY company but yours! We will even find a way not to have a land-line. At age 70, that will be a challenge, but one we will embrace!

I have to agree with reviews here, reception is not Cin Bell's strong suit... I would think that by 2011 mobile phone carriers would have strong reception throughout the whole US. Other than reception issues I don't have many other issues with the company or my phone.

I was, however, able to get a Cel-Fi, which is a wireless reception/signal booster made by the company Nextivity. This has improved my reception immensely.

All is well until you sign a contract. Then the rates go up and you will never again be able to speak to an intelligent CSR. Each time you call, your rates will go up until you finally learn to just bend over and take it - OR, like me, pay the early termination fees now and cut your losses while you are ONLY paying $163 a month for a freaking phone plan that has pay per use text AND pay per use data.

UPDATE: Now I get a letter in the mail saying CBW is going to charge me $1.99 per month per line to block services that I don't even subscribe to on my phones! CBW tells me that if I don't agree they will charge me $.05 per kb for any data, picture messages, etc sent to or from my phones. So, if someone happens to text you a cool 500k photo (either by mistake or intentionally) you'll get charged $25 for that photo by CBW. I hope someone sues these b@stards for extortion! I have 5 lines and signed up only for basic phone and text services. Don't tell me now I have to pay you to protect me from others using services I don't subscribe to. I can't wait until Dec 2012 when I can call CBW and tell them to stick their cell service where the sun doesn't shine!

Cause they're going to screw you one way or another.

Suffice it to say, if the deal from CinBell Wireless sounds too good to be true, IT IS too good to be true and you're going to get hit with hidden charges and false promises that are going to make you just as bitter as everyone else who has posted here.

I fell for the Dec 2010 Free Phone promotion and picked up 4 phones for the wife and kids plus an extra phone to have our Frontier Communications land line ported over to. We had intended to go fully mobile and eliminate our land line which would effectively pay for half the $99 monthly fee for the 3,000 minute, unlimited texting Family Share plan for all 5 phones. Sounded like a good deal to me for an incremental $50/month out of my pocket.

Until I got the first bill. Slick Willy who sold me the phones neglected to tell me that each phone would be subject to a $35 activation fee and despite his promise that they could port my land line number to the cell phone, apparently they have no way to port a number from Frontier Communications to a CBW device.

After much complaining I did get them to waive the activation fees but I'm still stuck with my land line, reluctant to simply abandon the old number since so many friends, family and businesses use that number to call us. As it turns out the free phones also ended up costing me $50 each and the rebates aren't going to be processed until I've maintained service for 3 months for each of the lines and each line must be active and in good standing at the time of rebate payout. I can't wait to see what kind of games they're going to try and play to screw me out of all or part of the $250 I paid for the FREE phones.

Luckily I kept my iPhone which I use for business with AT&T so all the $hitty service, dropped calls and lost messages that the wife and kids experience have been somewhat tolerable. As soon as I get my rebates and fulfill whatever commitment I have with CBW, we'll be transitioning our Family Plan over to another more respectable carrier (Assuming CBW doesn't go out of business first!) ;-)

Consider this as fair warning to avoid CBW even if an alternate plan with another carrier costs you more!

We disconnected our business landline w/ a year of call-forwarding to our C.B. wireless number indicating a number change. Assured by BUSINESS ACCT MGR that our wireless number would be listed in the yellow/white pages - it isn't and came to find out today that she never should have told us that. It was incorrect information. Fortunately, I have her e-mail stating that fact. The business wireless phone has not been able to make calls outside of the Cinti area...can receive calls, but can't make any. I have four days tied up and no resolution (unless I want to drive to Lexington, try and make call, find a pay phone, and having Cinti Bell troubleshoot. We tried to save money for our business by disconnecting our landline and switching from Verizon to Cinti Bell Wireless. In the 15 years we had Verizon service, I can think of 5 times I had serious issues but they were all resolved quickly and professionally. I am disgusted by the lack of answers, being assisted by a call service center in the Phillipines, and the fact that no one responded to e-mails or messages here locally. We have dropped calls, inconsistent coverage, and find out our business can longer be listed in the white/yellow pages or in the on-line pages. They mispresent everything and cannot fix anything. No resolution from them, no customer support. Totally unacceptable. Fortuntately, I do not have to keep the cell service...I have options and will exercise them....going back to what I know. Oh, and the acct. manager supposedly assigned to our business account now - had no idea we were one of her accounts. Nice. I feel so appreciated as a customer by Cinti Bell...NOT.

I've had Cincinnati Bell wireless service for five days and have yet to be able to use my phone. When I called "customer service" to switch my phone number to the one I had previously, I asked, "Can you switch my number?" The agent swiftly changed it to a random phone number. When I explained that that was not what I wanted he looked up my old number, told me it wasn't available, and said could not switch the phone number yet again (back to the original one I had when I called).
I asked him why we couldn't keep the number as it was when I called in the first place and he told me "this is what you told me to do. You asked me to change your number. You'll have to deal with it."
I was pretty shocked. I asked to see a supervisor who told me I'd need to buy a new SIM card from a Cincinnati Bell store ($20) so they could change the number (they still charged me the $5 change fee). I went out and did that thinking all would be well and sent resumes out to employers with my original number (this was a Saturday) thinking the problem would be remedied by Monday for sure.
Nope. They explained, when I called with the new SIM card, that it would take days to change my number.
I asked why it was so difficult but each time I was put on hold with a supervisor they never returned to the phone (or I gave up waiting after 30 minutes).
I've never experienced such rude and patronizing customer service representatives, and I've never had to spend countless dollars and time to fix a problem that was not mine to begin with.
Stay away from Cincinnati Bell.

I would have to agree with all of you. This has been the worst service I have ever encountered. Contract??? what's a contract. We have never been billed correctly. They are always hundreds of dollars more than what we contracted. They will not let you out of a contract either......I am seeking legal action as well. DO NOT SWITCH TO CINCINNATI BELL IT IS THE WORST COMPANY TO DEAL WITH....

If you need a wireless provider do not go to Cincinnati bell... seriously read all these reviews, only an idiot would start new service with these people. There is no customer servies what so ever, you can call them three different times and get three diffrent answers. I was dumb enough to stay with them for two years and give them my bank information for auto pay. I have had several phony charges added to my bill over the past two year with no clear explination, since you have to talk to india they wont be fixed or waived. I finally wised up and switched to T Mobile and been gone for three months and what do you know I am still getting billed from cincinnati bell. I have already canceld my auto pay but what do you know they didnt cancel it. its been one head ach after another with cincinnati bell, shame on Nick Lachey for promoting such a horrible company. He actually has his phone service through verizon wirless so what does that tell you. I feel for all the people who have service through them please consider switching services, and if your looking for new service STAY AWAY!!!

Cincinnati Bell can be very helpful when you sign up, but I found the DSL speed too slow and trying to leave was horrible. The last straw was trying to get my cell phone unlocked. I finally found http://www.unlocktotalk.com and had it unlocked in about 5 minutes after paying $10 to another site that couldn't get it unlocked in 2 days.

Where even begin with this company they absolutely suck. I have dropped calls, not received calls, calls that went to someone elses phone, unable to send/receive texts, not received voicemails, and the list goes on and on. The only responses that I have received are well your phone is not functioning properly, your sim card is bad, or, the best, the service is limited due to the amount of customers. The bottom line is its better to use the poney express than cincinnati bell. Costomer service should not even be mentioned I have gotten better responses from my dogs than them. A piece of advice go with sprint or verizon if you want service on your cell.

I've had Cinbell for over 25 yrs and their cell service for 11 yrs! You'd think that since I was a long time customer I'd be treated w/ some type of respect? But NO! I was bundled, with home, internet and cell..at least I was suppose to be. We were told that everything would be $150.00 a month for lifetime..HA!! Nothing came on the same bill even one time. Nada! When we'd call and wait for 20-30 mins just to get it all on ONE BILL, they'd promised it would be and yet another month would come and it wasn't. So I went to the Crestview Hills store and demanded it get fixed like this once and for all. I was told there that THEY..Cincinnati Bell Wireless...weren't really a part of Cin. Bell residential and that our payments were going to home and internet only?!? WTH??? Also our bills were of $300.00 a month NOT the $150.00 we were told. We called and called and kept getting people in the philippines who cannot say anything other than what's on a script for them to 'wead', and can't make any adjustments to your acct. what so ever. After the round and round they turned my cell service off for non-payment?!? Are you kidding me?! I sent in the whole amount each month and because it went to the home phone and internet my cell part didn't get this so therefore I was not paying?? How is this possible?? I have now moved onto AT&T but lost my Nokia 5800 which was not even a year old so I'm very upset w/ that. AT&T of course cannot unlock my 5800 so I have a nice phone to look at now. Stay away from campbell! Oh! And I just heard today 11/19/2010, the CEO of Cincinnati Bell basically got up and walked out... now how's that grab ya? Can't say I blame him. Please, go and make yourself happy w/ someone other than this company. I've got local cable co. coming on Dec. 1st to switch my home phone and internet and leaving Cinbell completely to wallow in their own muck, confusion and dishonesty. SHAME ON YOU CINCINNATI BELL!!!

Cincinnati Bell is by far the worse wireless provider. When I started with them I signed up for auto pay and asked that they pull the payment each month on the 30th, since I got paid each month on the 15th and the 30th. Of course the sales rep assured me that would not be a problem. The forth month my payment was pulled on the 24th in which I did not have the funds to cover the 86 dollar payment. My service was shut off within seconds with just a txt saying my payment was returned. One would think if it was due on that day, i should have the rest of the day to make that payment and the service should be shut off the next day. Thats besides the point since i was told it would be pulled on the 30th. I checked my bank statement to see when the first three monts were pulled and they were all done on different days: the 26, 28, 24, and the 24th. I immediately call customer service or we all know that its India. I talked to someone who can not help me or understand my problem, that is trained to get you off the phone. He pretty much told me that each month payments will vary when they take the payment. I ended up going to the store to resolve my problem but they can help cause they dont have the proper authority. However they do have the authority to tell you lies to get you to sign up. I should have known better than to trust these liars and set my account up on autopay so i guess this is my fault, however they still lied to me and their services sucks. I constantly get dropped calls and even though I have full bars in my house, I can never take calls. I have to go outside when ever i want to talk to someone. I am finally switching service which i long over due, and I am sure i will have to write another bad review about trying to cancel with Cincinnati Bell. My brother canceled his service last week and they told him he owed a 200 cancelation fee. How is this even possible when your not in a contract. WHAT A JOKE.

I've had cincinnati bell for 3 years now, after switching from at&t to save money. Since day one nothing but problems. I've gotten two bad blackberrys from them my most recent was found by blackberry to have hardware problems from the factory, but cinti bell wont replace it because its two months out of warrenty, even though blackberry knows it was bad from new. I use to have my bills sent online to save paper but had to change to a paper bill because for about 12 months they made constantly different mistakes on my bill which thank goodness I caught and they admitted to so they credited. Every time I've called customer support I've been on the phone with them for as little as 20 minutes but as with the blackberry problem, which has yet to be resolved, I was on the phone for a total of 6-8 hours over three days. Tech support is a joke! Last but not least when you call customer support to add a line or get a new phone they dont tell you the correct information ar prices, I had to go to a store to get it right, called customer support back and was lied to by the supervisor who claimed the previous person didnt tell me the wrong thing, only reason I found out they lied was when I had another issue and called back, I happened to ask the person what the notes said about my first conversation, and she told me exactly what I knew I had been told, One good thing, they take excellent notes about your calls. Bottom line they are cheap, but I could sit here and write a book about all the problems I've had.

Exremely poor service. Been with them a year now. They bought City of Lebanon's Phone, Internet and Cable business so I added their cellular phone during a "Why pay for 2?" promotion. I know have "everything" through CinBell -- Worst mistake ever!!

I am in process of transferring Cable and Internet back to Time Warner. Cellular service will go to Verizon. Too bad really CinBell has good prices, but I'd rather pay more for just a little customer service!!!

This is the shock of a lifetime. I have been with Cincinnati Bell for 8 years...i should say WAS with them for 8 years.....didnt have a problem until recently which was a major problem. My husband and i purchased Blackberry's last year, mine in August his in October...always paid my $178.00 bill on line. Friday, October 1, 2010 we are traveling to Kentuck to bury my Sister. I try to make a call...NO SERVICE...my husbands phone...NO SERVICE. I happen to have my work cell phone with me and call Cincinnati Bell to find out what is going on. Hold on to your seats.......they told me that they had not had a payment since July 14, 2009, my bill balance is $3,000...but yet i still had phone service up until that day which would be 14 months later. How can that be....I told the cutomer service rep which was rude and wasnt listening to anything i had to say....i said that you know and i know if i had not paid my bill for 14 months i would not have service....all he would say over and over the last payment received was July of 2009. I asked to speak to a Supervisor, put me on hold for 20 mins and finally disconnected my call.....i called back...got a different rep....she said the same thing over and over i asked to speak to a Supervisor...put me on hold again for 10 mins....she came back and said no supervisor was available but she would have one call me back within the hour.....i got no phone call by the time...we are on our way to my sister's viewing....i had been trying to get some answers for 2 hours on my way to our destination....again by this time accounts payable is closed so i could not talk to a supervisor there i had to wait till the next day...Saturday......i called and immediately asked to speaK TO A SUPERVISOR....finally one came on Angela in accounts payable...i explained the situation to her...she sees no record of me paying the bills over the last 14 months...i explain to her the confirmation numbers are generated thru their system when making payments on line...she didnt see anything...i get to a computer while out of town...log on to my account...my records had been PURGED!!!!!! The only proof i have is my bank statements showing where it was deducted from my debit card.....she wanted those records right then...i explained to her i was out of town for my sisters funeral i was not at home would not be able to get that information until Tuesday, Oct 5...but in the meantime we have no service, my husband operates business from his cell phone....that didnt matter...they didnt care that we are 8 year customers. I asked if there was a problem why werent we contacted, email, disconnect notice....something anything....she put me on hold for 5 mins....came back and said that the account was activated properly therefore it didnt generate disconnect notices.....but it would not have anyway...i paid my bill on time every month i would not get a disconnect notice....they just cut our service off with no warning NOTHING!!!! When we return home i got my records together.....called them with confirmation numbers...to this day they are still INVESTIGATING....i have no confidence in them at this point...we took our business to AT&T with a cheaper monthly rate and better phone selection......i dont trust them at all it could happen again.

I have never experienced anything like this before and hope i never do again.

I purchased 3 phones and their services for my grandchildren approximately 2 years ago. This has been the worst experience, every month there is an additional charge on the phones, of which they cannot explain. On 9-1-2010 they suspended services on their phones I never received any kind of notice. I had already paid the bill. When I called to complain they informed me I should have paid it earlier that morning. If the service was due to be suspended on 9-1-2010 why was it cut off? September 1, 2010 last all date long in the world I live in. When I received my bill they charged me $25.00 for 2 lines and told me as a courtesy they didnot charge me for the 3rd line. The bill was paid why was I charged for the other 2 lines. I cancellled my home phone services with Cincinnati Bell years ago for their abuse of customers. I got this service because their were a having a special on phone services one Christmas. This by far is the biggest mistake I have ever made. CINCINNATI BELL IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST RIPOFFS. DUKE ENERGY IS THE NEXT BIGGEST. And people wonder why young and old alike leave this city. OH! and lets not forget the Customer Service Team, their rude, uncaring and each one has a different excuse, or so called answer for the problem youre experiencing. Whatever the answer it always favors CINCINNATI BELL STEER CLEAR FROM CINCINNATI BELL

40 hours. 3 sim cards. This is what it took for me to receive a phone from cincinnati bell. Oh wait. There is more.

We have had 4 lines with cincy bell for 10 years. All with unlimited texting. I dropped and went to Verizon because I was moving out of their area to attend college. Verizon was amazing. NEVER an issue. NEVER! My dad (who still pays the bills) asked me to move back to cincy bell to save money. Fine.

I was given a free phone without the 2 year equip program in exchange for bringing the line back over.

Upon receiving the phone, I was shipped the wrong number....twice! Told by numerous supervisors it would be shipped, never was. Finally I got the right number. THE NEXT PROBLEM...people would call me and be prompted to enter a password to reach me. How does that work? Cincy bell said it was the brand of phone they shipped me. I asked for a replacement of a different device. They told me they were going to charge me more and have me sign a 2 year equipment agreement.

If a customer is on the phone for 40 hours, or more by now, shouldn't they be given what they need to resolve the issue..FREE OF CHARGE?

If you are interested in cincy bell to save money..fine. But you will have to battle with them constantly for correct service the entirety of your time with them.

If you just want a phone that will work, go with someone other than cincy because you are wasting time and money.

No one has the time or energy to spend upwards of 40 hours on the phone to get their dang phone to work.

Cincy bell, the fact that you have survived is amazing. Hope you future looks up.

Had a voicemail with Cin Bell, raised my service cost by 80% in 3 months, I had this number with another provider for 16 years.

Somehow cin Bell took over this account, called to adjust rate. Should be illegal to raise prices by 80% in a short time frame. Customer service is a joke.

They can go to hell.

don't be lured in by CinBell's contract-free low rates. i consider home lines a waste of money, therefore i need a reliable cell. this is something that CinBell cannot provide. at least a couple times a month my cell phone stops working. either i can't send/receive texts, calls or both. this means spending a significant period of time on the phone with CinBell help. this also means tracking down a friend with a phone do accomplish this seeing as how i can't make any calls from my own. i also take classes online & need a reliable wireless connection. last weekend, mid-exam, my internet connect went out. this meant trying desperately to contact the professor to reset my exam before the due time. CinBell's crap service nearly cost me a decent grade. currently i'm writing this from a neighbor's unsecure connection all because CinBell's won't hold & i'm scheduled to have a maintenance man come out 5 days from now to look at it. that means taking half a day off of work. thanks for screwing me again CinBell. in short, do yourself a favor and save yourself the hassle. just go with someone else.

Do I have to click a star? I mean, is there something less than one star to rate this useless company? I've read many of the reviews and the most startling was the one from a former employee. Cincinnati Bell Wireless is an embarrassment to the Queen City. They should be made to remove Cincinnati from their business name. On more than one occasion I have tried to call out on my CBW cell phone and receive the message: "Network busy. STOP!" Finally one day I got on my computer and contacted CBW customer service (which is a misnomer to begin with) I received a response from a women who was clearly illiterate and wrote at the level of a third grader. She said the reason I was getting the error was because of my poor credit rating?!!! We have three phones on the CBW network. We have been customers for years. We pay our bill every month on time. What the F@#k does my credit rating have to do with the network being busy. Hey former employee dude, if you have an explanation I'd love to hear it.

I can totally relate to Melissa P's ordeal. Their service is worse than bad in every way. First of all, I have a new Blackberry with their 2 year joke of an "equipment agreement." The phone is nice, but would actually be great on another network. I get a ton of dropped calls, horrible voice quality where many times callers cut out and I can't hear them, echoing in the line, and network busy messages. Many times, the phone won't connect to the internet. HERE IS THE TRUTH-if you send MMS or SMS/picture messages to or from a Cincinnati Bell phone, Forget it! You'll never receive them, and the person you send them to won't recieve them, but yet you pay 19.99 per month for their unlimited media/messaging plan. They won't accept pictures/messages from Verizon users either. If you go out of the CBW home area, you sometimes won't even be able to send or receive text messages, let alone picture messages. This company and their network is a total joke. I pay over $100 a month for this kind of service. I've called customer service and their tech support lines numerous times about not getting text, picture or voice messages. They always say "we'll open a trouble ticket." That's funny-They've opened up 3 trouble tickets on me and yet nothing's been fixed. The customer service is very incompetent and unhelpful. Plus, their reception is very poor in Northern Kentucky and Clermont County, Ohio. Avoid them at all costs-they provide horrible service and their phones are junk that other providers don't want anymore.

I first signed on for Cincinnati Bell Wireless in May 2007, everything was fine and service was great. I wouldn't get reception in some areas but it was rare. however Cincy Bell was on a steady decline. Meaning, it was starting to take my sent SMS msgs upwards of 20 minutes to be delivered, frequently calls would go right to voicemail and Multimedia messages - wow, forget about it. I thought it may have been my phone so I inserted my SIM in a few other phones and had the same problems. I ordered a "upgrade" from their website Christmas 09 to take advantage of the free offers. I ordered the so-called free Alcatel Tribe. It comes via UPS, I kind of liked it (Cincy Bell doesn't have the greatest phone selection so it was the best pick imo). A week after having the phone and signing a 2-year deal to get it "free" I get a letter stating my services were going up. I thought it was funny the price went up for the first time since 07 after signing on for two years. Instead of telling me the new price the letter said it would be reflected on my first bill. The new bill comes and went from $112/mo. to $168/mo. I was shocked it had jumped so high. I called them they couldn't give me a definitive reason for the increase other than "everyone is seeing an increase". No they wasn't, I know many people with Cincy Bell and the price did not jump for them.
I accepted the terms of increase because I was locked in. I wanted to drop two line from my phone a few months after the increase so I called to put in the change of service. I was given the run around. The woman asked why I was removing lines I said to decrease the price of my bill, so her solution was as follows: "by adding our pick five deal you can call any five numbers for no use toward your minutes and it's only $10 a line". I explained again how I wanted to DECREASE the bill not add to it, eventually she put in for the change at the end of my billing cycle. The day comes for two lines to be dropped, they wasn't. I called they told me the two lines had been removed and they don't understand why they can still be used. The next day my line gets shut off while the two I originally wanted canceled were still active. I had to call to explain, the woman was confused so eventually I just told her to leave all lines active. I explained my displeasure for losing all my saved voicemail msgs and how inconvenient the whole ordeal was, they only said they were sorry for the confusion (on my end). I was furious the blame was put on me for their mistake. I emailed customer service and complained to receive an email telling me how much my early termination fee was with no apology. I canceled the entire account and gladly paid the early termination fee just to get Cincinnati Bell out of my life. I will never recommend them anyone nor return for services.

I ordered a cell phone what CBW calls a upgrade & was told it would arrive in 24 - 48 hour. I was given the order # & when the phone did NOT arrive in the 2 days I called & asked for the tracking # since I was told that a tracking # was not available at my 1st call. The response was: We are out of that phone in the warehouse & have put out emails to the stores to see where we can get one from. WHEN WERE THEY GOING TO LET ME KNOW?? I had orginally been given the option one the original call to ride to one of the stores to pick up but decided I could wait up to the 48 hours. Long story short in order to ensure that I would get my phone I rode to a store to pick up after this call. I am a former employee (Convergys) & lost my job due to downsizing but I always made sure my customers were WELL taken care of. The problem with CBT/CBW/Convergys, they keep the bad & get rid of the good & reliable & that is why there is such bad customer service.

If I could leave no star as a rating I would. No star is equal to the level of service I have received from this fraudulent company. I am on my third phone in a three month period. I have gotten nowhere with the CBW customer service people or the store clerks. Whatever you do, do not buy a plan or phone from this company. I have been with CBW from the late 90's and until this past year I was pretty happy with the program. It's too bad that customers in good standing are given the shaft. I'm looking forward signing with a new wireless provider. I hope CBW folds soon.

I'm a homer by nature, meaning, given the choice I like to support local businesses. I can no longer support Cincinnati Bell.

As a small business owner I am very dissatisfied with the service Cincinnati Bell provides both in terms of communication with the customer and actual functionality of their wireless program.

My company had wireless and land line service with them.
Aside from the 50 page invoices which are common in the wireless business the CUSTOMER SERVICE phone number they print on their invoices is a waste of time and recources.

It is quite simply one number that ties to and endless supply of other numbers, all equipped with a wait / hold and a curt CSR. You are put into a system that transfers you around the globe, not minutes but hours are spent on hold, only to receive inaccurate or poor answers and more transfers. They ultimately wear you down into submission.

I finally had enough and we switched all land lines to Time Warner and wireless to Verizon - Verizon's customer service is MUCH better. Easier to contact and fast responses. Don't get me wrong, I don't always get the answer I want, but I get an answer. With Cincinnati Bell it can take 4 hours to get an inaccurate response.

Cincinnati Bell's parting shot is to charge us for a full month's wireless bill because we switched 1 day after the billing cycle.

Given their inability to be contacted easily, and the difficulty in finding a person of responsibility, it is very likely we would have or actually did switch before the billing cycle - This was in fact my very request at the time.

We were in fact told at one point that we had paid our final bill and we owed nothing else, only to have another bill show up. Once again upon calling, no one could vouch for this, the person whose name we wrote down from the previous conversation did not work there anymore (so we were told).

We have requested a letter stating that this will be our last payment and nothing else is owed. I won't do anything until I receive that because I can't trust their verbal commitments.

For a company that spawned Convergys, who specializes in customer support and phone center solutions, their ability to manage a phone tree and call center seems to be at the very least questionable.

I will make it a point to reiterate my experience and my regret in my dealings with a local business in a variety of forums. What's the adage about a customer telling one or two people of a good experience and a customer with a complaint tells 9 or 10. I will tell many more.

I have nothing good to say about Cincinnati Bell Wireless. I totally agree with the other reviews on here. I'm not surprised the office hanky panky goes on there. I've heard about that from different employees. Customers do not matter at this company. I am on my 2nd Blackberry with them and am constantly having problems with their service. First of all, I get a ton of dropped calls. I always get "network busy" messages every weekday morning and afternoon. The 3G voice quality is poor-I constantly here echoing, crackling, and voice cut-outs when I make a call. There are many times I don't receive text or voice messages. Here's the kicker they don't tell you about-if you go out of the "home" CBW area, you can't send or receive text or picture messages from your handset and Verizon customers cannot send you any messages. Yet you pay $20 a month for this service. Plus, their billing is VERY shady with lots of extra charges and their customer service is atrocious. You have to wait up to 45 minutes to talk to a live person in the Phillipines. What a joke. This company will not invest in upgrading its network, and they lie about being the best "local" wireless network. CBW's motto should be "anything to save a buck." Aovid them!

I have no contract with CinBell, I have the cheapest rates available, they virtually gave me the equipment and I have a designated business rep for my 15 phones. With this said, I am firing CinBell as fast as I can..........

I've read quite a few of the reviews on this board and most of you are correct. Cincinnati Bell Wireless as a whole is a scam and a sham from the top to the bottom. How do I know? I was one of those swarmy, braindead, lying, cheating, and diceptive jerks working at one of your local retail stores. I took the job after being successful in another market working for a different company, doing relatively the same thing. However when I started working at "CinBell" I knew the stakes were raised when it came to reaching quotas and sales goals.

We were encourage to "slam" accounts. Slamming an account is when you add extra features to the account even when the customer refuses the service. In doing so if you placed a certain feature on enough accounts at the end of the month you could recieve incentives such as gift cards and bonuses. In this day in age of online bank drafting most people do not check their statements online after 3 months. So you slam an account with a feature for 3 months at no cost. After 90 days they will start being billed. They will more than like not notice the change and the representative will not receive a charge back in commission.

Understand that there is no sales experience required in wireless, its simply suggestive offering. Case in point I've sold Blackberry's to age ranges 8 to 80. You have an hour to spurt out as many products as you can. With 80% of the population ignorant about technology it only takes 20 minutes to have someones head spinning and buying everything you suggest. This is not my opinion, I observed and executed this tactic everyday b/c that is what was expected of me.

Cincinnati Bell's phones are devices that are defective and ones that national carriers will not put on their shelves. Instead of losing millions the manufactuers will dump the phones into a smaller market at a discounted price where they get swallowed up and disappear forever. I encounted at least 9 devices that I can remember (Nokia 6085, 6086, 6102, 2660, 6126. Sony w300i, w550i, s500i. Pantech c300). The BlackBerry is the only decent device at Cinbell.

Cincinnati Bell or should I say Jack Cassidy Bell does not care about their employees, customers (both reisdential and business), shareholders, or anyone other than the board and the people they sleep with. As an employee my personal phone was monitored and I was informed as to what I was looking at on my blackberry on more than one occasion. This usually happened 2-3 days after viewing something. The informant was a boy toy for upper management and an all around snake. I've never witnesses backstabbing and unethical business practices as I had at this worthless company.

We spend the winter in Key West Fla. and on arrival my cell phone crashed, which was less than a year old. We contacted Cin. Bell to request a new one with next day shipping and after 2 weeks have yet to receive. Cin Bell gave us a tracking # that was not accessable and on contacting them assured us they were sending another one. We have wasted much time on the phone and have yet to receive any satisfaction from them or any follow up. Their customer service needs complete re-structuring and they should fire who ever is responsible for over-all customer service. We are former business owners and understand completely the importance of product quality and customer service. They also need someone in charge who understands.

Here is the scoop on Cincinnati Bell Business/Wireless from a former employee (not residential). This is for anyone considering moving there business over to Cincinnati Bell or getting their wireless service. First you have to understand how they work. On the wireless side, the reason for dropped calls, network busy and congestion is because they piggyback mostly off of AT&T towers with a few of their own and when using an AT&T tower AT&T customers get first priority. If enough AT&T customers are talking using the tower you are using it WILL kick you off even with full bars. You have to dial an area code for every call made and picture messages cannot be sent or received from CDMA (Verizon) networks. Your text messages and VM will arrive late 50% of the time if they arrive at all. SPINVOX is a joke, they switched to a cheaper provider and you will not understand the messages. They DO NOT have 3G (internet is very slow most of the time). They have a terrible line of phones if you haven't already noticed. DO NOT BUY THE 5800!! This phone works terribly with their network and they know it! The reason they have it is because it would not work on any other network at all. If you do go with them, get a Blackberry, its the only phone worth a crap. The insurance plan is the most confusing product in their line-up and will most likely not help you at all. For businesses, you must understand the difference between an ILEC and a CLEC. ILEC means a telephone company owns the lines in a particular area (Cinbell owns the lines in Cincinnati and are the most expensive in America) CLEC means a company "rents" the lines from the ILEC (in most cases AT&T) and in the Dayton area Cinbell is the CLEC. The ILEC is the BEST service because you are dealing with the owner of the lines, if you go with a CLEC be ready for issues. In the case of Cinbell, the products are not there. Their T1 lines went down several times in 2009 causing massive issues. Zoomtown speeds are dependent on the distance from the CO and because they have almost no money invested in CO's your internet will most likely be much slower than Time Warner or AT&T. Here is how it will work, a Cinbell rep will call your business or walk in and try to set up an appointment. LET THEM!! Take the 15 minutes to sit with them and request a proposal. Once you receive the proposal if the pricing is better call your current provider and tell them about it. Get them to match the price, In Dayton especially, DO NOT switch your business to Cinbell the service is much worse and you will regret it. For those people who think you don't have to have a contract, no contract means no special pricing and your phones will be more expensive just like every other carrier. Also, the "Account Manager" you meet will LIE to you! They will say "if you have an issue just call me and I will take care of it," trying to differentiate themselves from the competition. In reality we were told as reps when a customer calls give them a customer service number and get them off your plate. This will redirect you to a foreign country and will be a huge headache if you even get through. They will bring up the "Dayton Drive Test". This is a sham, if you have had CInbell Wireless for longer than a day you know they cannot compete with any other carrier! Also, dollar signs may appear when you get a proposal, don't be fooled, they DO charge PUCO and FCC charges they just hide them in their long distance. The price you see is not what you will get!! Also the biggest issues at Cinbell is with their billing, there will be billing issues. Cinbell has very few stores and if you own a business a store will not help you anyway because they will redirect you to your sales rep (their stores are also empty, which is a red flag in an of itself). Cinbell does buy out contracts from other providers, how they get you is you have to pay the massive termination penalties up front and Cinbell will reimburse you in the following months. Reps will not tell you this unless you ask because it sounds great till you find out the truth. Reps will tell you anything they can to get your business (and not tell you the bad) and then drop you once you have it. I quit this company because I refused to lie to my customers. In Dayton more than half of all sales reps were fired or quit so don't plan on having the same rep you met for very long. There are soooo many more issues to discuss but 5000 characters isn't enough. Just take my word for it there were very, very few satisfied customers and they were only satisfied because the stars aligned for their business, this WILL NOT be the case for you!!!!! I am not just ranting on, these statements are true and accurate for most businesses and wireless users in the Dayton area. I apologize to the businesses who are trapped in Cinbell's contracts with non-prorated termination penalties. Write to the BBB and write as many reviews as you can at as many sites as you can.
