I cant say enough nice things about the Animal Clinic of Chardon! They took excellent care of our two sweet baby bunnies, Boris and Lazlo. Bunnies require extra TLC and advanced expertise during surgery, and we were very worried that they might not survive. The excellent doctors and staff at the Animal Clinic of Chardon knew exactly how to handle rabbits, and our buns came through with flying colors. Every person we encountered at the clinic was friendly, knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional. Thanks and kudos to everyone at the Animal Clinic of Chardon!

As a long time veteran with clinics and animal services, I find the cons of this clinic to far outweigh the pros. I've shown dogs for a long time, and had many interactions with clinics, sometime on a daily care basis. I've paid thousands of dollars for animal care in my time and I know a lot about interacting with veterinary services all over the country. To be fair, the veterinary capability in this clinic is outstanding, but sadly, I can say little more than this because it is buried by the cons. Prices are ridiculously exorbitant, emergency services unresponsive, and I've been more than once given the run around which, had I been less knowledgeable, would have increased my costs exponentially. Nice building, the potential for good veterinary care, but I can and have found the same elsewhere at a far lower cost, and more importantly, with a more prompt and less mercenary response when in need of emergency care for my animal, which I cannot forgive. Don't tell me at 8 in the morning you will see my pet at 4, when he's in danger of losing his life. Additionally, they have disappointed me more than once when recommending others to the facility (when I still gave them the benefit of the doubt), and that also, I cannot forgive.

I have been going to the Animal Clinic of Chardon for just over a year for my dog. I tried other vets after adopting my first puppy first but found them to be insensitive and hurried and I left feeling overwhelmed and scared. We then tried the Animal Clinic and would never take our dog anywhere else. They fully explain everything to you taking plenty of time to answer questions and ensure you understand. Dr. Tom has called us after our appointments just to follow up and discuss treatment plans or just to check in on our dog. They always give lots of love and attention to our pet and I always feel that they have the best interest of him at heart.

I have been using the Animal Clinic of Chardon for over ten years. Doctors Tom and Wendy Frankmann and their staff are all professional, compassionate, and provide excellent service. I know my dogs are in great hands when they go in for their routine visits and/or emergency situations. The Animal Clinic provides prompt service and will spend as much time as needed to handle the needs of your pet. I always feel well informed and have been provided several options to meet my pets' needs.
I have lost two dogs over the years due to age/illnesses and have felt an abundance of compassion and support during these difficult times from the doctors and staff at the Animal Clinic.
My other two dogs and any future dogs are very fortunate to have such wonderful care from the Animal Clinic of Chardon.

I first started with Dr Allmon in 1996 with my dalmation. He saw us through hs 13 1/2 yrs, never pushed things on us. He kissed my dog and treated him with love. The visits we never rushed. i was never made to felt bad when we took a couple years of from care when money was tight. When it was time to put him down, he was AMAZING. I was never rushed and there was a roomful of animals in the waiting room. His compassion and the compassion of the staff is amazing. To put the dog down was $78. I got a ympathy card that ment the world to me! My cat spent a week on IVs and antibiotics, with X-rays and the bill was only $234!

18months after loosing that dalmation, I got a puppy and while I now live in South Euclid, you better believe I will drive to Chardon for his care too.

If you looking for a vet out of Dog Fancy with a nice waiting room with spa services where people bring in their pampered pooches, this is not your vet.

If you are looking for a compassionate, down to earth, old time country vet with good prices and you don't mind a 3 legged cat walking around during your visit (I think he died though) in a small one room exam then Dr Allmon is your vet!

We took our 15 year old dog to the vet as an emergency. It turned out that he had an enlarged spleen. Consulted with the doctor about surgery and decided to go for it even though it was going to cost a fortune and may not buy him too much time. We were left in the small room with our sedated love on the floor. Started to imagine a walk on the beach with him... walking in the park again... We were there for 15 minutes daydreaming about our healthy dog when the dr. came back in to tell us that his bloodwork shows that surgery was not an option. We had to make that terrible decision to put him to sleep. In the end we had to give them $580 to put our dog to sleep. Heart breaking on so many levels. We will no longer go there partly due to the trauma I endured and partly because we were unfairly charged.

I just wanted to get my cat neutered. I called and they said I had to have an exam first. I went to the exam and they gave him all kinds of vaccinations that they said he NEEDED. I was given a quote for the neutering as $211. I was fine with that, but then I went to pay for the exam. $191 !! I think I should have been a quote for the exam!! Now, I cannot afford to go through with the neutering, which is all I wanted in the first place. I just cannot see having to pay $400 to fix a cat.
I will say that they were very nice and caring. They worked very well with my terrified cat and tried to be quick.

Our dog passed away totally unexecpetedly and naturally our regular vet was out of town for the weekend. The folks at the Animal Clinic of Chardon treated us wonderfully even though we were not their regular clients. I just may be now...

Adopted a warden shelter dog, used this clinic for the 'free' exam, which ended up costing $60.00. Then, the next visit was almost $150.00, (for inocculations). Not only did they NOT provide our rabies tag, required by law for our dog to wear, (which I now learned is beacause they did not administer the vaccine--the only vaccine I actually require a veterinarian for), the veterinarian Dr. Lynn Proctor, was over 30 minutes late arriving to work for our appointment!! Today, 8:00am, my senior dog is in a coughing vomiting fit (I firmly suspect he caught the kennel cough disease AT CHARDON ANIMAL CLINIC, as he has been no where else during the incubation period), and they "can not possibly see us until 11:30 am"!! This clinic makes every attempt to convince the customer that there is a whole line of expensive treatments and medications required, which they will most happily perform, to keep all of those new shiny SUVs parked out back, filled with petrol. My dog's name is Der Kutter, and they keep calling him Cooters, despite that "DER KUTTER" is on his collar, was plainly written on his stool sample, and on the paperwork I filled out. They offered me a credit plan when I inquired about sliding scale for farm dogs, or dogs adopted from the shelter. They will not euthanize to put an animal out of misery without charging $40.00 on top of it for exam. Expensive and uncaring.

I adore Dr. Tom Frankmann and his staff. He has provided exceptional care for my dogs for 6 years now. I have two rare breed mastiffs with many health problems. Dr. Tom used his personal time to do research on their illnesses and genuinely cares for the animals. I find their prices competitive. I have used other vets in the past and Dr. Tom really takes his time. He doesn't hurry through the appointment and always answers my questions thoroughly in a very understandable way. They don't have you waste your money on unnecessary treatments. The wait is always minimal and they staff always friendly! He gets on the floor and lets my 130 lb drooling mastiff lick his face! I don't even do that!

This office has a very large waiting room so you can keep your frightened cat away from the hyper dog in the waiting room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will try to accommodate you as much as possible, for example, providing medicine after a phone consult. They are somewhat expensive, however.

This office is very clean, has up to date technologies for working on the animals, and has a very caring staff. I was able to call for reports on my pet's progress, and when we moved out of the area were even given a typed out history of our pet's care. A great place to take the furrier members of your family.
