Allyn's Cafe

I have to say one quick thing about the negative reviews--The menu at Allyn's is extensive to say the least, if you don't like something that you got, tell your servers, they're happy to take it off your bill and try another dish. As for waiting for a table..get real, its a busy restaurant, very popular among all age groups. I believe that the review was written by someone who has never worked in the restaurant industry. Sometimes they're understaffed, and if a server doesn't come to your table..SAY SOMETHING. That said, the environment is very friendly, great music on Sunday nights, obnoxious beer and wine list (in a good way) and friendly servers. And remember, if you can't afford to tip your server, don't eat out. I was a server for years and some of them rely on tips to pay the bills. Enjoy :)

We went to Allyn's Cafe last night and were quite disappointed. We waited for a table at the bar for 15 minutes. No biggie. We were seated and a waiter never came to our table! We sat there for 35 minutes with no service! I am all about quality of service when I go out to eat and this was just poor! We finished our beers and left because obviously this place was not organized and didn't care to lose a pair of potential customers. We were thoroughly upset and disappointed with the lack there of of service. We will never go back based on the lack of attention we received.

We ordered two meals last night: one chicken and one steak burrito and were terribly disappointed...the overseasoned steak was in rather unmanageable huge, chewy cubes, some fat/gristle included, and the chicken burrito managed to be worse. The meal came with two measly soggy chips, and the black beans were way oversalted. The appearance on the plate was that of your typical frozen meal. Spend your money elsewhere if you're looking for a good burrito.

Some love the food here but I like the music, the best in the city. They do have good food, and cold beer. Great Cajun food and super Jambalaya. For good food and great music you cannot go wrong.
