Years ago I had a problem that my friends and I could not figure out. I finally called up Jim's automotive to make an appointment. He quickly diagnosed my problem ON THE PHONE, and told what part was bad.The old Jim is an exceptional mechanic, and I would trust him above all others.
And so when I ran into another mystery problem I called Jim's and made an appointment. When I went to drop my car off though, it was a new Jim. The old Jim works there a few days a week, but another guy named Jim bought him out -the young Jim told me.
I also have experience with this man. I took a car in to him to have one part of the carburetor changed. He called me and told me that he had called Napa and Jeep and could not get the part. He told me he would have to change the whole carburettor. I called Jeep and Napa, and both of them had the part in stock. I had my car towed to another shop where the part was quickly changed.
I was, understandably, leery about leaving my car with this new Jim, but the old Jim is such a wonderful mechanic that I left it in the hopes that the old Jim would have enough input to keep it honest.I was told that it was the transfer case and it would cost $1,300 to repair. I took it to another shop, and found it was not the transfer case. I had the problem fixed for $370.
If you take your car to Jim's automotive, make sure you have the right Jim. If you get that man working on your car, you will be happy. He's the bests in the area. If you get the younger man.... Well, both times I went to him I ended up having to take it to someone else.
The only reason my rating is not one is because you may get the right Jim, in which case you have a five.
