My newly delivered 1999 355F1 suddenly wouldn't idle. My web search for local Ferrari service yielded Sam Smyth He said to bring the car right out..and after two hours running perfect ($35 bill). Also there's lots of eye candy on his lot and service bays...restoring Bentleys, RR's and a perfect MGTD.

The guys at Sam Smyth Imported Car Service Inc. are awesome. They are very honest and reasonable. I am a woman who has experienced some very dishonest mechanics. These guys are the best. They are fast, reliable, and great,When I was at Sam Smyth Car Service I was surprised by some of the types of cars they work on such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Porsche, I myself own a 1998 Land Rover Discovery. I am so lucky to have stopped in on a whim one day for service of my vehicle. I will faithfully be a repeat customer, and will refer any one to give these guys . Give these guys a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Where do I start? Sam Smyth the proprietor of Sam Smyth Imports is the most honest, genuine, fair, brilliant auto mechanic that I have ever met since owning my 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series II. I have been relying on Sam??s excellent service since 2006. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and is willing to educate you on the issue at hand, walk you through the entire repair process, and get you vehicle back on the road fast and better than before. He offers one of the lowest labors rates around, especially for a British import. Another cost saving option, he allows you to purchase the required parts separately and have it shipped directly to his shop; saving you big bucks on parts. Sam is not condescending and will refrain from using fancy auto shop jargon that may confuse even the most erudite individual. He is honest and straightforward unlike the dealerships and respects your car as if it were his own. For goodness sakes, he repairs Bentley??s, Rolls Royce??s, MG??s, and an array of other British cars; I am certain he will respect your measly $40-$80K Land Rover. Sam??s has worked on Rovers almost his entire life and his father was a Rover mechanic. My Disco has been serviced at dealerships located in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Akron, and Solon (Cleveland) and none compare to Sam??s expertise and no nonsense approach. I currently live in Northeast Columbus and make the 1.45 hr trek to Indian Hill (east Cincinnati) for service. He is willing to offer weekend drop off; very accommodating. You will not only gain a quality, trusting mechanic; you will also gain a genuine friend. In summation, Sam will not only prolong the life of your vehicle; he will also extend the buying power of your dollar during these desperate times. Please visit his website at smythimports.com for more information. Thanks so much Sam, you are a lifesaver.

I am amazed by the quality of service provided to me when they fixed my cars(mercedes, BMW, and Rover). Always they saved me lots of $$$. I trust these guys with my cars. They are reasonably priced, more importantly, they are very dependable. I am not aware of professionals like them are still around. Try it for your self.

Thanks to Sam and Lani

Sam Smyth has a real passion for fine cars and his family owned business offers great service for a fair price. Sam helped me out with new brakes on my 2006 Land Rover LR3 and by using Sam Smyth Imports I saved $1000 over the price quoted to me by the dealer. I dropped my Rover off after work on a Friday and the work was comleted before noon the following Saturday. I highly recommend Sam Smyth Imports.

I just wanted to pop back by and let everyone know that I had Sam do some maintenance on my 2003 BMW 325i and was EXTREMELY impressed yet again! I am so glad I have Sam Smyth Imports to go to for my automobile maintenance. It gives me such piece of mind to know that I my car is getting taken care of for such an affordable price!

Sadly, I have to sell my car. :-( I will be going back to school and I have to get something that I can run around in while in school. So... If anyone would be interested in a fabulous 2003 BMW 325i sedan, silver with black interior, please give Sam Smyth a call! It has 93K miles on it. I just put new brakes, air filter, new rear diff fluid, tranny fluid, oil change, etc. Runs like a dream!!! I love it... you will too! And the holidays are coming... what better gift than an affordable BMW for your family member!

Keep on taking your car to Sam!!! It is the best decision you can make for your car and whatever car I have in the future, I plan to take my car to Sam!

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

GO TO SAM SMYTH IMPORTS!

My Top 5 Reasons:

5. They know what they are talking about and what they are doing.
4. Their business has been around for a long time (just check out the pictures in the office!)
3. Imports are their passion, and it shows in the work they do!
2. You can trust them to be honest, fair, and give you the best quality of work around.
1. Who doesn't enjoy walking into a shop and seeing beautifully restored Rolls Royces, MGs, Bentleys, and others that I can only hope I can afford one day!?!? It is like a car show without an entrance fee.

Now how did I come about Sam Smyth Imports? I am a female, with a 2003 BMW 325i, who needed brake pads, rotors, and wear sensors installed. I would have gone to the BMW store, but I find that going there means lots of waiting and a huge bill. On the other hand, I do not let just anyone work on my car. Since I had some work done at Dave Orr's Autobody a while ago, I called them and asked for a referral. The first place they recommended was Sam Smyth Imports. I gave Sam a call, not really knowing what to expect, and from that first call I became a customer for life.

At Sam Smyth Imports they treat you like a neighbor. Since I was interested in saving some cash, but not willing to compromise quality, they talked to me about the least expensive way to get all of the parts and told me they could do the labor. Of course, for those of you just wanting to drop your car off and pick it up when it is done, they also can order your parts.

I know there are some women out there who just go to their dealer for service because they are nervous about getting ripped off if they do not know what they are talking about. I am here to tell you that, while I don't know a ton about cars, I do know that I would have probably been paying close to double at the BMW Store for the same service. Also, Sam's team will talk you through your issues and take a look at your car to really identify what needs to be done. This helped me because there were a few other things I had questions about and they told me the easiest way to fix each thing.

I highly recommend Sam Smyth Imports to anyone who wants high quality work at an affordable price!

The first time I met Sam he assured me that the problem I was having with my 1988 Mercedes 300SE was no big deal. He calmly smiled and told me he'd figure it out. And he did. Right away! Something that no mechanic I had ever consulted could do. I was amazed and so relieved that I brought the car to him exclusively from then on. What I like about Sam and the men who do work for him is of course the attention they pay to the minutest detail down to the bolt, the cool cars like Bentleys, Rolls and others that they work onand the clean shop and the ties they wear to work. Most of all though, its Sam's air of complete confidence that he's going to fix whatever the problem is, at a reasonable price and it won't ever happen again. He doesn't scratch his head. As long as you do what he says. He's like a car doctor. He just knows these cars.So now I bring him my used Range Rover knowing that for one thing I'll be able to afford to drive it. The cars Sam services are the finest automobiles out there and he knows what they're all about, what makes them go, what makes them happy. He knows them intimately. I can see why people trust him with their 4 million dollar cars.

I recently purchased a 2000 Land Rover Discovery. Unfortunately it developed a leak before I owned it more than two weeks. I found Sam Smyth Imports after some research. I read the reviews and decided to see for myself. What great customer service ! Sam's honest approach to doing business is hard to find. Go see him and find out for yourself.

While I worked with Sam to rebuild and supercharge my 1977 MGB, I saw him rebuild and repair Jaguars, show-quality Rolls Royces, Mercedes Benzes, Ferraris, BMWs, Triumphs, MGs, Land Rovers, Corvettes, Bentleys and any other import or domestic brand. The guy is a genius in diagnostics and repair. He often finds and fixes problems that have stumped the dealerships, and he does it at far less than dealer repair prices. Maybe best of all, Sam is old school -- he will not take shortcuts, he will not compromise -- he insists on doing the job right the first time. There's not a better value for imported, exotic and performance car repair in Cincinnati.

I own a Land Rover and quickly grew tired of paying a dealer's outrageous costs for normal maintenance services. I went on-line, and thank goodness I found Sam Smyth Imports. Sam and his shop are truly a one of a kind blessing. Sam had Lenny check out a "Service Engine Soon" light, troubleshot the offending code and had it fixed in minutes. While there, Sam gave me the "tour" of the shop and introduced me to a rare 1957 Bentley, 1970 high performance MGB, Sunbeam Tiger, in full view of other Rolls-Royce's, Land Rovers, and other imports. Truly an amazing shop. I can only say, that in today's day and age, being able to find a competent, trustworthy, dedicated and "down to earth" maintenance shop for imports is (I thought) impossible. Not anymore...they are located right in Cincinnati. No other maintenance shop will ever touch my Land Rover again. If you have an issue (any issue) with your import, Rolls Royce, Land Rover, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, ANY import, Try Sam Smyth. The shop is amazing. I am a true believer and after one meeting with Sam, you will be also. Thank you Sam!

Sam and Sams son has been an independent Jaguar service specialist now for over 3 plus decades! Sam Smyth Imports has been in the same greater Cincinnati (Reds!) Tristate location; serving Symms Township, Indian Hill, Loveland, Madeira and Milford for 25 years. Now recently I learned some really neat Cincinnati car history on my most recent visit today to Sam Smyths imported Car Service. Framed on the wall in his office is an article from the Cincinnati Post & Times Star, dated December 1959 Automotive News, page 46, with the news of a new auto agency opening, that was devoted exclusively to sell the Jaguar line and SAAB from Sweden. The name of the company was the Imported Car Center located at 1635 Reading Road, with some of the officers of the firm being Robert A. Cline Jr., as president, J. Grayden de Camp as vice president (in his day, editor of the Enquirer) and Samuel M. Smyth (Sams dad) as vice president and general manager. A complete service department had been set up for all imported cars. Sams dads company was also appointed as distributor for BAP, British Auto Parts, importers of parts for all foreign autos. They were distributors for parts for dealers in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia. Talk about history! Their showroom had been decorated by Samuel Aronoff!
The tradition continues today. In addition to being an independent Jaguar and imported car service center, Sam Smyths son is the local parts distributor for the Moss Nisonger Car Group, supplying a comprehensive list of car parts, and premier car parts such as Spax, Lucas, Novus and K&N to name a few. Sams business has a lot of history, being established in Ireland in 1934, and his quality of work certainly reflects it. Certainly, old school quality that you will not find anywhere else today!
Today, Sam still has factory Churchill Tools for repairing Jaguar automobiles from 1959 and earlier. This tools are no longer available!
To me, Sam Smyth Imported Car Service has become a Greater Cincinnati Icon, like the Cincinnati Reds & Bengals, Montgomery Inn, Skyline Chili, White Castle, Saks Department Store, The Flying Pig Marathon, Lindner Cincinnati Arts Museum, Union Terminal, University of Cincinnati, Xavier University and Octoberfest!
On a personal note, I did not know that Sam is an honorary member of all the Shriner Temples in Ohio, except for the Syrian Temple, in which he is a life time member! Sam has also devoted time to raise money for the Childrens Burns Institute located here in Cincinnati!

Smyth Imports has been established since 1934 and still has the same integrity and service today as the first day it opened. I am thankful they are here. Sam has serviced both my BMW's for years and there are no surprises or hidden cost with him. I know up front exactly what is needed and the cost. Thanks for always being honest.

Took my E320 to Sam. Bought brake parts, but had waited a month for a fault light that never turned on. Sounds from the brakes started becoming rather metallic. By the time I got it to Sam, both rotors were so overheated, he had to press the rotors off the hubs, and one of the four front pads was down to metal. The sensor had never tripped! Most of his time was pressing the old rotors from the hubs and rebuilding them. The rest of the job was under "book" time from dealer. What would have cost me much less than the dealer a month earlier, ended up costing more because the sensor didn't sense. Sam saved me from having to replace hubs and calipers. I will return with next service... whatever that might be.

Sam Smyth Imports is the place you need to go if you have a fine or vintage automobile. He keeps my Landrover Defender up and running better then the dealer, and at lower cost. He uses the best parts and is extremely knowledgeable and is a world class mechanic, and has the Club and manufacturer awards to prove it.

I am the owner of a 1968 Jaguar E-type XKE 4.2 liter roadster that I have had for over 40 years, and I have relied on Sam Smyth Imports for essentially all my repair, maintenance, and restoration work. Sam has been a consistently first-rate mechanic and his prices are always fair and quite reasonable. Sam is currently going over the entire car for me, replacing a few parts where necessary to be sure it will remain in top running condition, as I am considering putting it up for sale later this year. If you have a foreign or vintage car that needs a little maintenance or repair work, be sure to stop in and talk your problems over with Sam. I feel certain that you could not find any better foreign car service anywhere in the Cincinnati area, and I am sure you will come away very satisfied.

As the owner of a low-mileage '99 BMW M3 Convertible, I plan to keep the car for a very long time. After a couple of sensor failures and some terrible experiences at the BMW factory shop, I learned about Mr. Smyth. He was exceptionally helpful, and worked with me to perform several necessary service items on the car. Due to the performance level of the car, I was concerned about taking it to a different shop than an authorized BMW dealer. However, after working with Mr. Smyth, I learned that he does better quality serice, is more conscientious, and provides excellent follow-up after the sale. He did all of this while saving me SERIOUS money compared to the dealer estimates. I'd recommend Sam's service to anyone, particularly owners of high-end vehicles who want to be sure the work is done right.

When my wife and I decided to take our 1957 Metropolitan to a higher level car show competition, I sought an experienced mechanic with a deep background in British car mechanics. The car was cosmetically good, but mechanically subpar. Since most mechanics don't even know that Metropolitans were built in Britain, it's not easy to find a mechanic to work on one, at all, much less an automobile that's over 50 years old. Even though he usually works on Rolls Royce, Bentley and jaguar autos, Sam Smyth took this car through a major mechanical restoration that remedied years of neglect and abuse. It operates so well now that we have decided to finish out the car for Concours Class competition. Mr. Smyth's work was methodical and impeccable. Defect after defect, wrong parts and shoddy work were discovered and remedied. I can't imagine finding better workmanship, fairer costs, or more passion for a project, than i found at Sam Smyth Auto Imports.

i decided the bmw store had seen its' last dollar from me. whole story too long for this comment box, but thanks to god, allah, et al that sam is out there. after a recent $1450 reaming for cv boots, left with still another $870 estimate for a "BAD leaking valve cover gasket".

so researched and found Sam. he met me, got out his lights and mirrors and quickly concluded there was no need to replace anything. the only thing he even found was "misting" on one of the front hold down bolts for the valve cover. no actual oil, just a slight discolaration. he advised very normal and clearly not a reason to replace.

these dealers, particularly the bmw store, must be anxious for revenue. lot of overhead. go see sam before taking their word for it.

I took my 2005 Range Rover HSE to the dealer the entire time my car was under warranty. But it seemed as though there was ALWAYS something wrong with it. Brakes, Suspension, Oil Pan, you name it, I had to take it in to be serviced! The problem I had, was that nothing was ever explained. I always spoke with a "service agent", who wasn't the actual mechanic, and the only thing he was concerned about was how much my deductible from my warranty was. After the warranty was expired, the fourth service tag, and thousands of dollars later, I was tired of Land Rover taking my money without giving me an explanation. I found Sam Smyth ONLINE (after reading multiple reviews) and gave him a call. He took the time out to explain to me not only my issues, but my options as well. He even gave me his personal cell phone number and instructed me to call him with any questions I might have. I will never take my Rover to the dealer again! Sam is not only honest, but patient as well! And I appreciate him sharing his knowledge and expertise! It's comforting to have a mechanic that you can TRUST!

/We were having engine problems with our Land Rover discovery. Sam looked at it very carefully, did diagnostic work and repaired problem after problem. We had been to the local dealer for service before, but will only take it to Smyth for any work needed. He did a great job, was honest about the repairs needed and was true to his word. It runs like new and we hope to keep it for several more years. Thanks, Sam.

I am a true believer and after one meeting with Sam, you will be also. Thank you Sam!
We recently purchased a 2005 Jaguar. Unfortunately it developed a leak on Christmas Eve. I found Sam Smyth Imports after some research. I read the reviews and decided to see for myself. Sam not only returned my call but actually agreed to come out and look at my car on Christmas Eve. What great customer service! Sam is extremely knowledgeable and is willing to educate you on the issue at hand. Sam's honest approach to doing business is hard to find. Go see him and find out for yourself. We will be repeat customers for life.
Thanks so much Sam, you are a lifesaver!

Allow me to inform you about the best mechanic in at least the Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Loveland, Madeira, Indian Hill areas. It has been my pleasure to know Sam Smyth for over twenty-five years. In the age of ??just get it done? and on to the next one, Sam is a master mechanic, who cares as much as you do about your car (maybe more).

Whether your luxury car was mass-produced, or is a one of a kind show car, your car could not be in better hands. Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Porsche, BMW, Land Rover, Audi, Acura, Infinity, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and MG are just a few of the fine luxury makes that standardly cavalcade through Sam??s extraordinary old-world shop. Where words like craftsmanship, reliability, and pride of workmanship are not only spoken - but are practiced on every vehicle and every turn of every nut, bolt and wrench.

Big job or small, full restoration or correctly done tune-up, trust your car to a dependable, reasonably priced, 5-star service shop where the work performed upon your car will be to the standards you would perform - if you, like Sam, had three generations of turning wrenches on the finest motor cars in the world.

Trust Sam and let him fix your car, and he will be your trusted mechanic, as he has been mine for more than 25 years. Let your dealer quote you a price, but let Sam fix your car, you will be glad you did! Call Sam at (513) 793-0434

Your day-to-day transportation or your extreemly rare and exotic Bentley, Rolls-Royce or other classic, you will be thrilled when your vehicle works the way the designer intended, because you had Sam Smyth fix it correctly.

I have had 7 Bentley's and Rolls over the past 5 years. I have always taken the cars back to the dealers for service. That service has been both expensive and taken more time than it should. I will now even trailer my Florida autos to Cincinnati.
Sam Smyth's repair shop is 3/4 miles from my Cincinnati residence and discovered him by accident and getting ready to trailer my Bentley to a different out of state Bentley repair station. Sam fixed my car inexpensively compared to what I have been used to paying and in a timely matter. I think that how could do a better job at marketing but his service is exceptional.

After being told by the service person at the dealership that because my '03 Mini Cooper S was leaking oil, I needed to spend $713 to replace an oil pan gasket and an O-ring ($53 for parts and $586 for labor, plus tax and "misc.") and an additional $306 to replace the valve cover gasket, I looked around and found Sam Smyth Imports. I took my Mini there. Sam carefully inspected the valve cover area and found no leaks. After he steam cleaned the engine and I drove the Mini for several hundred miles, no oil leaks were discovered around the oil pan. Sam's observation was that someone, when changing the oil, had spilled oil all over the lower engine area. So instead of shelling out over a thousand dollars to replace parts that apparently did not need replacing, I received a thorough inspection and lots of peace of mind for a tiny fraction of the original projected cost. If an oil leak of any kind develops down the road - and there are no indications of that - I want Sam Smyth to do the job. Although it's impressive to go to the big dealership and get "free" coffee, donuts, cashews, newspapers, and raisinets and wait in comfortable, plush surroundings, I simply could not afford to automatically shell out big money for what turned out to be unnecessary work. Oh, yes, instead of going to the big dealer and spending $147 to replace four sparkplugs, I will return to Sam Smyth and have it done by an experienced foreign car expert for a fraction of that cost. I trust Sam, and I will continue to bring my vehicles to him in the future. I want my Mini serviced and maintained by someone I can trust. I trust Sam Smyth.

I have a 2004 BMW 325 xi with 60,000 miles on it. I have had trouble with it ever since I got it a few months ago. Guess BMW has it lemons also. I had to get a new valve put in and a new tenchinor and pull put in. I was hoping that would be the end of it. But it figures I new a new transmission put in!!! The BMW store told me they would put in a rebuilt tranny and cover some of the cost. I asked Sam for some advice to see if I was getting the run around. Sam advised me to make sure that I was getting a new torque convertor with the transmission which I was. He also told me to get the rear main engine seal replaced while the transmission was out. for one seal its a 1,800 dollar job. He also told me to have the seal for the real carrier for the drive shaft replaced. Sam is helpfull and willing to work with you. He will loose money out of his pocket to help you save money and build customer loyalty. Sam will spend alot of time explaning things in detail for you in a common sence language. He makes you feel like you are fluent in the jargen of the trade. Thanks Sam!!!

Sam has been working on my 1999 Series II Land Rover Discovery for over 2 years. He has repaired everything from brake pads, rotors, throttle positioning sensor (which corrected a hill decent/tc/sm error), AC lines, spark plug wires, and the like. The service rates are less than the dealer and he allows customers to purchase and bring in the required parts. He specializes in exotic, high end luxury vehicle repair and is willing to work on any make and model. Sam is extremely friendly, respectful, flexible, knowledgeable, and explains every step of the process in rudimentary terms. He is my Land Rover mechanic for life. I travel 1.45hrs from Columbus for service. Thanks again for everything.

The nearest dealer is miles and miles away, so I asked Sam if he'd take a look at my Ducati. Motorcycles aren't his specialty, but he quickly found the source of my problem and told me how to correct it.

Sam was very generous with his time, and pointed me in the right direction on a number of maintenance issues. It's clear that he has a real love of engines and mechanical systems and is committed to getting all the details right so they run perfectly.

My husband took his car to Sam Smyth for major service and he got it running like new, so I decided to take my Volvo S80 there for brake repair. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and very happy to explain in lay terms what needs to be done. Sam and his staff provide great service at reasonable prices. They also take the time to make sure you are completely satisfied with their work. I would highly recommend them.

Sam Smyth gave excellent service at a reasonable price on my 2006 Mercedes E350 4matic. I needed the 13,000 mile service. Sam fixed it while I waited, gave me tips on how to do it myself if need be. The guys at Sam Smyth Imported Car Service are the best. They are very honest and reasonable. They worked with me in ordering parts. They have saved me a ton of money. I no longer need to go to the Mercedes Dealership. Give Sam Smyth a try; you won??t be disappointed and will return. These guys are great.

Sam and Jeff are very friendly and helpful. They take a common sense approach to solving a problem, and won't take your money just to take. The depth of knowledge is very extensive, and I'd trust them to work on any import.
My 2002 Land Rover Discovery has a myriad of issues, and they are going to work with me to solve them in the most common sense way, and their approach is to do it the right way, even if it means they make less money.
A refreshing approach to service and car care.

The experience alone was worth the price of admission! Sam is a charismatic guy who also happens to know everything about the vehicles he works on. I took my 2000 Land Rover Discovery to Sam for some much needed TLC. Sam took a conservative approach to diagnosing and repairing my electrical problems. I came away with a repaired truck and much less sticker shock than I would have experienced at the dealer. I highly recommend Sam to anyone wanting unmatched skill, experience, and honesty!

I want to start with a big sigh of relief (sigh), because I finally found what I was sure never existed.... an HONEST MECHANIC! They do exist! I met Sam Smyth for the first time yesterday, and only wished it had been sooner. I am a first time owner of an 05 Range Rover. This was my dream car and with the service that I had received from Land Rover of Cincinnati in the last 5 months was enough to make it a total nightmare. But thanks to Sam the nightmare is over. As soon as I got there they walked straight over to my car asked what was wrong, ran a diagnostic test (for free:-), opened the hood found a disconnected hose, fixed it (for free:-) gave me a heads up on some other things he noticed to be wrong, and gave me more information about my Rover than I think the manufacturer would know. Sam & Jeff treated me like I was a family friend and we had only just met. They made me feel very comfortable with their openess, knowledge, and expertise. He tells it like it is. Now that's service! I am no longer afraid to get my Rover serviced. Thanks for giving me faith in mechanics again!

Phase 1: It Ain??t Rocket Science: Getting the telemetry right by making a solid plan before Project Launch

It is widely known that Sam Smyth is the Top Gun of mechanics for his work on Jaguars, Bentley, and Rolls Royce automobiles not only in the Cincinnati area but across the country. After my own analysis and investigation, I also came to the conclusion that he was good enough to work on my ??56 Chevy Bel Air with a blown head gasket. Obviously, the ??56 Chevy is not the pedigree of automobile Sam is accustomed to applying his high end mechanic skills but the Chevy is important enough to me to have only the best work on the old buggy. This was my Grandfather??s car and has been in the family since 1958 and is full of childhood memories that can not be discounted. It took a little bit of convincing for Sam to accept the work. I told about my little Irish Grandfather and how this work would add to the legacy of Symth Automotive Est. in Ireland in 1934. Sam could only say yes!

My background is engineering in the aerospace and defense industry and working with real rocket scientists ?? so I know how to turn a wrench and how things work. But I have limited time, a limited set of tools for a job like this, and rusty and suspect skills for such important work on such an important car, at least to me. I needed a mechanics mechanic ?? hello Sam Symth.

Once he agreed to take on the work, like a rocket, Sam launched into action. After watching and listening to him in those first 15 minutes, I knew he was the right guy for getting the ??56 back on the road and in top condition. The next 30 minutes consisted of the ??you gotta do??s?:
-you gotta have these new parts
-you gotta start putting PB penetration juice on all the fasteners
- you gotta do ?. And if you don??t ?
Then he launches internet explorer and locates several Chevy restoration guru??s ?? determines who to call based on the content and professionalism of their websites. He makes a couple of calls, interrogates the Chevy gurus, picks and chooses who he wants to do business with for parts. He locates the necessary and critical parts and within a half hour. Now, I work with the likes of NASA, General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin and I am here to tell you, comparatively speaking, my head was spinning. But, just observing and listening to Sam??s conversation with these service providers demonstrated his knowledge and authentic interest in my/Grandfather??s ??56 Chevy.

Before I go out the door, he has me repeat his initial instructions back to him and dispatches me to get moving on my end. Yes sir ?? hey who is the customer here? Sam has a master plan to get this job done and at a least cost and best value for me. He wants everything staged before just tearing into the work and the result is considerable savings. Over a three week period - I soaked some nuts and bolts, order some parts, cleaned and painted parts that have not been off the car since the day it was assembled in 1956 in Warren, MI. This is where I see additional value in working with Sam ?? the Tasmanian Mechanic! He could have said to me ?? sure bring that car here to my shop and I??ll do the work. However, part of Sam??s master plan was to minimize the economic effect on me and so I have a hand in the project. For me this is perfect ?? I am involved but not in the way! Just a few more things to get out of the way and on to executing the last of the master plan.

So more to report on in Phase 2 ?? getting the ol?? buggy back together and be able to (as the old market song goes) ??see the USA in my Chevrolet?!

I am the owner of a 2002 Audi A4. I recently needed to have all new brakes installed. I shopped around but am glad that I made the decision to take it to Sam Smyth Imports. Sam was upfront with me about everything going on with my car and did an excellent job. I got my car in a timely manner and was confident in the work that was done. I will continue to take my Audi to Sam Smyth Imports to have it serviced. I would recommend Sam Smyth Imports to anyone looking for good quality service.

Even though he usually works on Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mercedes and jaguar, Sam Smyth took this car through a major mechanical restoration that remedied years of neglect and abuse.

:-( I will be going back to school and I have to get something that I can run around in while in school- not something so fabulous I guess :-( So...

When I first purchased my 2003 BMW 325i, I brought it to the BMW store every time I needed anything for it. I bought my car used, so when I got it I had to get the 60K check up, etc. About 6 months and more dollars than I would care to admit later, I found Sam Smyth Imports. Honestly, my enjoyment in my car skyrocketed.

The thing is, as much as I love my car, the prices for maintenance and such were beginning to make me question my purchase. I am a younger female who only has my income... which is not much, so the cons could have outweighed the pros pretty quickly in this economy.

Luckily, I did find Sam Smyth and his awesome shop. Not only do I get quality service at a really affordable price, but I learn so many things about my car and all of the cars in his shop every time I get my car worked on. Sam does not hesitate to tell you exactly what you do... and do not need. Also, if he thinks you can take care of something yourself and save yourself some cash, he will let you know.

Without any doubt Sam is the most reliable, honest, and affordable mechanic in town and the quality of his work does not suffer because of that.

I would recommend Sam Smyth Imports to anyone who asks about a quality mechanic for their import that they actually care about.

Sam just made another fix to my Land rover Defender 90. Like before his service was great and he found the best prices out there on the parts that I needed. Sam is not afraid to go the extra mile for his clients and does everything possible to make them happy. I highly recommend him as he can fix everything from a Ferrari to a Bentley, and has the awards from the Clubs and manufacturers to prove it.

Sam Smyth delivers the best service for my Range Rover at a price that anyone could afford. Some imported cars are tempermental, they require special care to keep them running well. Sam knows them and can make sure your investment keeps running smoothly. I always go to Sam Smyth for service.

Message from Smyth Imported Car SVC

Sam Smyth is a world class import car mechanic with over 40 years of personal experience. Smyth Imports has been at the same location for over 30 years.

Sam is a professionaly trained and appointed Rolls-Royce Owners Club (RROC) National Judge and The Only Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts Club (RREC) National Judge residing outside the UK.

Smyth Imports is an Independent Authorized Bentley, Audi and Volkswagen service facility.

Smyth Imports was established in Ireland by Sam's Grandfather in 1934, Smyth Imports is now in it's third generation and is celebrating 75 years of providing quality motorcar and imported auto service.

Sam is an independent specialist providing service for just about any type of imported show car, but since he runs his own small shop he is able to maintain a low overhead and thus can offer very reasonable rates.

Who wouldn't want their car serviced like a show car for a reasonable rate?

So if you have a an imported car in Cincinnati call Sam.

If you live elsewhere, but have an exotic car that you just can't take to the neighborhood mechanic you need to talk to Sam about having your exotic car transported to the shop. It may cost less than you think and it will probably save you money in the long run, getting it done right the first time.
