I have been a born-again Christian since 1976(who now calls myself a Christfollower because of the negativity the word ""Christian"" can bring to people -- the ones who openly judge others, the ones who say ""hate the sin, love the sinner"" yet show no love to the sinner at all -- and we are ALL sinners), the pew sitters who go to church out of obligation and not devotion, those who ""do church"" yet have never had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the ones that are two-issue voters (anti-abortion and gay marriage yet don't take into consideration any of the issues that concern the poor or sick or being what Jesus called peacemakers, not peaceKEEPERS; Matthew 5:9).\n\nGod doesn't judge sin at different levels; the Bible says rebellion is as witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:23). The church is not created for the holy. The church is created for those who are hurting, who need acceptance, who need God's love, who are in need of God's forgiveness.\n\nSay that you are standing at the back of the church and watch a gay couple walk in, displaying appropriate public affection such as holding hands or putting their arms around each other. What would your reaction be? Now here comes a heterosexual couple that you know are living together and having sexual relations with each other displaying the same sort of affection? Would your reaction be different? Do you think that God sees one sin as different from another? The Bible also puts murderers and liars as the same sort of sinner. God doesn't judge one sin as worse than another. We do. And that's wrong.\n\nCrossroads makes people comfortable and gives them a place where they can learn about Jesus, repentance, love, and acceptance. That is what Church is all about. It's a hospital for the sick who need healing and we all need healing. Crossroads provides that through its teachings and through its actions.\n\nSymbols such as crosses or stained glass windows don't make a church. WE are the Church. A building is not a church, the people are. \n\nIf Jesus was to come today, He would not be talking to us about sheep but rather would communicate in a way that we would understand and could relate to. Larry Norman, a devoted Christian rock singer who died several years ago wrote a song called, ""Why Should the devil have all the Good Music""? Do you not think that when young people, whose style and music means so much to their culture turn that over to God to honor Him that He isn't pleased and delighted? What may sound like noise to your ears is beauty in His. Do you not think that He wouldn't sit and chat with you over a good cup of coffee?\n\nAs a Christfollower of almost 30 years, I find Crossroads to be refreshing. I don't know anything about caring for sheep, but I do want to learn more about how Jesus wants me to care for His world and His people. I don't learn that by simply sitting in a seat and listening to a message once a week. I learn it by doing life with the people of my church, by caring for the poor of my community and my world. I learn by listening to the teachings, worshipping, gathering with other Believers, reading and studying His Word, by prayer, transparency, repentance, forgiveness, love, and tolerance.\n\nCrossroads isn't for everyone. Neither is the Catholic Church, the Baptist Church, the Quakers, and so on. The beauty of the Church (the Body of Believers) is that there is a place for everyone. Some find liturgy beautiful, others find it boring. But just because it may not be to your personal liking doesn't make it any less beautiful to others.\n\nIf you're like me and prefer a place that is relaxed, warm, and accepting, come try Crossroads.Crossroads is a church that is Spirit-filled, and lovers of Love Himself. So come as you are, in your best dressed or your holey-ripped jeans and flip-flops and enjoy a cup of coffee or a soda, be greeted with a smile, and learn what God's Love looks like in action.\n\n~Joyce Kendrick\n\n

I absolutely love my church! I unfortunately moved two hours away so I no longer attend regularly but I do make the trip from Louisville to Cincinnati once every couple of months to visit this gem of a church. Some people don't seem to understand what Crossroads is meant to do. It is meant to bring nonbelievers close to God in a non hostile, laid back environment and it does just that. It seems that some people like very conservative churches in which you bring your bible and sing traditional music. That is fine but it is not the purpose of this church and I am glad it isn't. This church is a portal for reaching those who are not acquainted with God in a way in which they feel comfortable. I personally am Okay with any type of church that is able to reach this group since so few churches are able to. Being back in Louisville has really taught me that this church does such an excellent job at being accepting. Many churches around Louisville are very conservative and seem judgmental. These churches will have a hard time converting non believers. The sermons here are really meant for people who know little about Christ and may seem like they are ""skimming the surface"" to seasoned Christians. However, I owe my personal transformation to this church for making a non believer feel welcome and helping me to understand.

Couldn't have said better than another review here:\n\n "" If you aren't looking for a place to lead you into a deeper relationship with God, if you just want to skim the surface then this place is for you.""\n\nIf you go there long enough you will understand why there is no Cross or Ichthus (fish) sign of Jesus inside or outside the building.\n\nGreat free coffee to enjoy their Hollywood copyrighted film clips, straight out of Zionist controlled movieland.\n\nThey have a complicated explanation why there is no cross outside. Seems to be run by a bunch of yuppie pseudo intellectuals(spiritual gurus?) who don't seem to really stand for anything other than material success.\n\nTheir big attendance ""services"" really seem like a church oriented ""meat market"" where the women are trolling for hard bodies, cool dress and high salaried corporate job holders.\n\nI actually wonder if it is some kind of new age synagogue.\n\nA wonderful ""atrium"" ""open"" to the public, with free coffee, just don't close your eyes or a mini-man, muscle bound, girly-boy ""man"" will accuse you of sleeping and throw you out for not obeying ""the rules"" which are posted nowhere. He would not supply or reveal where a written copy of ""the rules"" could be found.\nHe announced arrogantly and aggressively that he was the ""FACILITIES MANAGER""----WOW!!!\n\nAs Jesus predicted, There would appear many false prophets!\n\nA great church for brain dead American Sheeple whose only God is material success!\n\nAshton

Originally, I thought it would be the last place I'd go to church, but something was nagging at me inside. I visited Crossroads 3 years ago, and I've never wanted to go anywhere else since.\n\nThey aren't looking to take people from their churches, but if you are looking for something different, they offer it up. The message is the same and I'm thankful for that. But, they will get real with it and challenge me to think about how serious I'm taking that message. They challenge me to get off my christian butt and do something worthwhile in the community, in the country and in the world. They are biting off big problems in all those categories. \n\nMake a difference in your world. If we are changed on the inside, than we can make a noticealbe change for the better in our world. I've never been challenged like that before. We are doing it! Feeding the hungry, rebuilding New Orleans, setting up healthy systems to tackle teen sex trade in India, etc. What are you doing?

I, absolutely, love this church. It offers all of the apects of a wonderful chuch that I want. I love the facility, the message is always inspirational, it is community oriented, the members are warm, and all are welcomed. Regarding a previous review offered by someone who would like to see Brian alter his style, I disagree. Brian, don't change your style the rest of us LOVE it. What you offer is why I attend CrossRoads.

Although I attend crossroads church, I'm not please with the way their main pastor- Brian Tom delivers his messages. He flip flops alot, does not stick to one point
at a time. It is hard for me to follow his sermmons. I've been looking for a new church for about a month now. Why don't Chuck Mingo and the Baker girl get more time for sermons. The loud Music is just a mess!!!!!

I love Crossroads. I wanted to be "FREE" to love and worship God in a way that wasn't binding, judgemental and most of all in a way that I didn't have to dress up. I love God, Jesus, jeans and flip flops and at Crossroads I can do them all at the same time!

I will give Joe M that the music is too loud, but probably the reason nobody had a bible with them is because unlike other churches Crossroads has a large screen that they display the scripture on and the give you a paper and pen to take notes on for when you get home, so there is really no need to bring your bible. I don't think that they just talk about life, I think that they do preach and talk about life to show you how scripture relates to your everyday life and they do say that you need to do more than just the Sunday services to develop your relationship with God. I don't think it is correct to say that it's not a church, everyone that is there is there to learn about God and the bible to determine if they want a relationship with Him or to learn how to grow their relationship with Him. It may not be what you're used to but its not supposed to be and that doesn't make it wrong. Whoever said cup holders were banned from church anyway? Obviously, I really like Crossroads and it changed my life because they are "real" and the services hold my interest so it was the first time a church was able to help me grow and get me to read the bible and understand it and I look forward to going to church. I have been going there for 5 years now and I must admit I am ready to add more in now that Crossroads did away with the Wednesday night services that were geared more for people who were ready to step it up a notch in developing their relationship with God but I would still recommend this church to anyone, Brian Tome does a great job.

This has been the best church ever for me. I was a church cynic, but found love, truth, challenge and community here. Their mission is to connect seekers with growing Christ followers. Their method is to be culturally relevant, biblically based, real and honest, and to do so with excellence. The church is large, but they emphasize being in community with each other. When people decide to get involved, they quickly realize that it is a very warm and close knit family. The leaders "practice what they preach", yet are down to earth and practical. Crossroads is heavily involved in making a positive difference locally, nationally, and internationally with numerous outreaches. Everyone (YES, EVERYONE) is truly welcome! If you want to explore the possibilities of God for the first time, just want a place to meet people, or if you have been a believer all your life, there is a place for you at Crossroads.

If your looking for a place to go to church but you have been burned by religion in the past, you would love Crossroads. It looks as much like a church as a car looks like a garage. Brian Tome does a great job of connecting with the audience in a way that is not demeaning, but rather friendly and interesting. The band is amazing! Also what's not to love about free coffee and pop?

This is a seeker friendly church that makes everyone feel welcome. The church building is very modern and the services are interesting. Thiy pastor keeps you interested in the message. This church is also involved in the community and look to help in any way it can.
