we catered here for st patricks day celebration becasue we heard they have great meats. they definately do but none (maybe very little) of their food is americanized. i know the food was top quality but a lot of the guests didnt fall in love with the meats because they arent used to it. the desserts (chocolate truffle and cake) were to die for.

After living in Germany as a teenager, I often long for the kind of food that we would enjoy frequently at local establishments. Schmidts in German Village certainly fills that longing!

The menu has a great selection of various types of schnitzel, and the lunch buffet is a great value. There are traditional favorites such as warm potato salad, sauerkraut and pickled red cabbage, in addition to vast types of bratwurst that are also available to purchase from their deli at the front of the establishment.

To my disappointment the cream puffs weren't anything special, but the tortes make up for it.

PROS: Authentic food and cozy atmosphere.
CONS: Super popular, so expect to wait for a table
