Pet Boarders and Sitters, Veterinary Services, Veterinarians
We switched to AHOP due to location being closer to our home. This was a mistake. I have 3 dogs and have had bad experiences with all 3. We use this vet for boarding and on a recent visit was mis-quoted on price for our state by over 160.00. This was due to an admitted error in that they "forgot to include one of the dogs." I was then told that I would receive a call from a manager the next day. It has been 6 days and still no call. When we call their office, the phone rings and there is no answer. On another attempt at boarding, I asked to schedule an appointment for an update on vaccinations. I booked the reservation in advance and received 5 additional phone calls to verify when I would be scheduling their next appointment. Doesn't the office have the ability to update records so each receptionist can view notes or appointments?? The staff constantly changes and there is no consistency in the office. There are too many options nearby to stay with this kind of service.

My husband and I have been taking our cat and dog to AHP for years. Ever since they have moved into their new facility, located directly across the street from their old facility, the service levels have plummeted. Every time we have been through the door we see a different face, indicating to me that they are having a hard time keeping staff.
At their old location, we would occasionally have to wait to be seen (when an appt was made) but in their new location, our wait times are ridiculously long (several times over 2 hours when a scheduled appt had been made). This has become the norm as opposed to an occasional event. One of the appts that I had with my cat required me to drop him off and return an hour later to pick him up. When I returned an hour later as asked, I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes (with every exam room door opened except for one). Finally, a tech came out and asked me to follow her. She took me to the "comfort room", which is where I assume they take people to inform them of their pets passing, and asked me to wait there. Thirty minutes later, after sitting in this room freaking out with nothing but a chair and table with tissues on it, the vet brought my cat to me and said "thanks" as if making me wait in this room without telling me what was going on was no big deal.
And finally, after taking our dog to this vet for 3 years, including puppy training and ALL of her vet appts, we were informed via voicemail by the facility owner that results had come back on some testing and our beloved pet had a cancerous tumor that would require surgery. In this voicemail we were informed, "please give me a call when you get this message." Really? That was left in a voicemail? This was our final straw. Very insensitive, very inconsistent and very unfortunate as we used to rave about our vet. I think they bit off more than they can chew with their new expanded facility and I am not willing to let my pet's care suffer because of it. We have switched vets.

I cant say enough about the vets and staff and the treatment that I and my Pet received. Not only was I treated with respect and compassion and kindness but my pet HunneyButt was. They not only provided excellent veterinary care they were kind compassionate and very caring. I spent a lot of time with these people the vets as well as the staff during the surgery and illness of my baby girl. It was one of the roughest times of my life and these folks stepped up to the plate and went the extra mile in what they provided for both of us. I would recommend them with no reservation. These guys know what they are doing and care about your pet and you.

This clinic hosts contests to see which assistants can upsell the most product and drive the invoice totals higher and higher.
They promote services that local zoning does not allow and practice suboptimal veterinary care.
Watch out. The owner is in it for the money and the staff changes like the weather.

I have never experienced an animal hospital so state of the art that includes not only veterinary care, but grooming, boarding and daycare! I have used all the services and continue to be amazed each visit. I feel confident in the care my dogs receive whether its on the surgery table, the grooming table, boarding in the resort or playing and socializing in their reputable dayschool! I feel so lucky to have a facility like this one so close to home!

AHOP is one of the best animal hospital in the area. The prices are comparable to other clinics in the area and I can get Sugar's annual vaccines and get her groomed while she is being boarded in their amazing kennel. She stayed in a room by herself where I could watch her online while on a business trip. The staff seemed to really care for her and they even gave me a report card on how well she did!

I went to this vet for a few years and every time I took my cat or dog in the bill was over $300. It didn't matter what was being done, it was always expensive. They just started doing the treatments without discussing the costs first. They push certain food on you as well. I went one year and it was Science Diet and then the next year it was something else. I gave them a chance, but I'm switching vets.

This facility is great and the veterinarians are wonderful. The level of ethics and professionalism is unmatched. I've been a client of this business since it opened and couldn't imagine a more caring, honest, compassionate and competent group of practitioners. When they say or do anything, they are always acting in the best interest of the client and the pet... and they know their limitations, which makes me all the more confident in my trust of them.
I believe in karma and this business would not be the successful entity it has become without doing things right and doing things the right way! The prices are competitive if you shop around... and the fact that it is a one stop shop (boarding, grooming, doggie day care and a state-of-the art medical facility) makes it beyond convenient. You will love all of the doctors and staff!!! and I wouldn't trust my animals to anyone else (that includes some big name universities and other prominent vet clinics). From the receptionists to the technicians to the veterinarians, everyone has been so friendly, kind, efficient and just plain smart!

Animal Hospital of Polaris is embroiled in a lawsuit filed by homeowners in the area who object to the dogs being in outside runs which are AGAINST local zoning ordinances. Seems the good doctor feels that zoning laws don't apply to her. An agreement was reached wherein the hospital was allowed to walk only one dog at a time, on leash, and could no longer put dogs outside in the indoor/outdoor runs or in the open, graveled area which is fenced in. However, staff members still tell prospective boarding customers that their animals will be walked six times per day, between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. I was told that they had 90 dogs boarding over a recent holiday. Do the math! Let's just say that only 75 dogs were being boarded. If each of the six potty breaks per dog lasted 5 minutes each, it totals 30 minutes per dog per day, or 37.5 hours for all 75 dogs. Problem is that between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. is 15 hours, not 37.5 hours, and ONLY ONE DOG AT A TIME IS ALLOWED OUTSIDE. They have fraudulent activity sheets made us in the event a customer questions when their particular dog was outside.
Day care dogs are not allowed outside at all. They do their business on the floor in the day care room. However, owners are told the dogs go outside for potty breaks.
They charge additional fees in the grooming salon for toothbrushing and hydro massage treatments which are not given. Instead of an actual hydro massage, which costs $10.00, the bather puts the machine in the tub, with the water running and the drain open and calls that a hydro-massage. No time invested at all and they collect $10.00.
The vet had a jar on the counter, asking for donations to pay for care for people who could not pay for services needed. However, a woman came in carrying a dog that had just been hit by a car. The vet tech indicated that the dog was in shock and had either broken legs or a broken pelvis, but the woman was turned away with her critically injured pet because she could not put down a $300 deposit. Not illegal, but certainly, in my opinion, immoral behavior from a vet who supposedly "cares" and is "compassionate".
I believe they are guilty of fraudulent business practices, theft by deception, and make concerted efforts to debunk customers/clients.

We are very happy with AHOP. We have had very good experiences and have had different vet techs, but, they all have been wonderful. They are more than a "business". If you need quality pet care, then this is the home for that.
Our dog enjoys their Doggy daycare, too.
Thank you AHOP!

Old Man River was One of the best dogs I have ever had. He was rescued by this vet office a while back. This act of kindness and charity on his behalf will never be forgotten by my family. I really liked this business when we adopted Old Man.

I've been to a couple of different vets and this one is just ok. The vets seem nice but it seems more like a business than like a place that really loves animals. They seem to like animals but I just don't get the warm feeling here that I get at other vets.

We liked this vet because it was close, but each time we go there is a different assistant who doesn't always seem that knowledgable. We signed up for the Puppy Kindergarten class that was supposed to be taught by the vet for 8 weeks, but she never did. It was always 2 assistants who were very good, but it still wasn't what it was supposed to be. The place is always clean and everyone is nice. We saw the back where they do surgery and it seems that they have very new technology. I don' t think that they are the most expensive, but definately not low cost either.
PROS: nice, clean vet office
CONS: assistants don't seem that knowledgable

The doctor returned my call immediately when I inquired about the clinic after a bad experience with another Dr. She was very good with my new puppies and Mom. The cost was reasonable and just as I was told was "ballpark" on the phone. All the personnel were very friendly. When I learned they were allowing a rescue to come in each week to become more comfortable after a negative past, that showed me some more about how these people understand and care about animals.
