Always the great service. My pup recently had surgery here. The care was excellent. They were painstaking about answering all of my questions and giving me the information I needed to be able to make the appropriate care decisions for my pup, my family, and my pocketbook. The orthopedic surgeon they use is top notch. We left with a written 8 week recovery plan that was easy to understand. AHOP and the surgeon both made follow up calls to make sure everything was progressing as planned.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

This was an absolutely outstanding animal hospital!! My dog was in and out of there quickly and the Dr was fabulous and caring about my pet. I highly reccommend this hospital for emergency and they are very reassuring! Even though my pet had surgery there weeks ago, if i have questions about the surgery, i call them up and they get right back to me and get my questions answered. Absolutely amazing animal hospital!! The orthopedic surgeon that they utilize is fantastic. He spoke to me in a manner that helped me understand everything he was doing. He even gave me a multiple page report on how to care for our dog 6-8weeks out and what to expect each week.

I recently resuced a new English Bulldog puppy, that ended up having all sorts of problems. The two biggest were her skin allergies and her eyes. I took her in and we saw Dr, Eaton so see what could be done. Dr. Eaton and the technician (can't remember her name) were both fantastic. After doing their exam and a couple test they sent on our way with proper medication and showed us how to properly clean the dogs eyes. The Dr and the tech were so nice and willing to answer all of my questions about my Bulldog and made sure that I actually understood what they were telling me. I'm so happy that I called them, and am sure that I'll be going back when needed.
I did see some other peoples review about this place and its pricing, but in my opinion it was incredibly fair, especially since I was able to make my appointment for the evening and not have to take off work. My opinion with everything in life is, you get what you pay for and I couldn't be happier with the service I recieved from everyone there and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I brought my dog in for lameness (limping on right hind leg). We saw Dr. Dawn Bookmyer on March 16, 2012. Before even an exam was started they took x-rays of her hips $100.00. Then they threw a bag of dog food at me told me that I needed to buy their food and that she needed to lose weight. I brought the bag of food back as it is crap. My dog went six weeks before she finally started lifting her hind leg. I took her to another Vet in November and did a simple exam by pulling the leg forward and diagnosed her with a torn ligament. My dog also tore the other ligament in the other leg also. Simply, put they charged me for an exam but they never examined my dog otherwise they should have been able to diagnose a torn ACL. I'm told it is very common so this should have been checked. Please note the second Vet I went to who is not with Animal Hospital of Polaris did not take X-rays at all to diagnose the problem. Unless you know what is wrong with your Pet I would not go there. I will never go there again. The girl that was at the front desk was very rude and condescending.

I have used these these guys for a while. They are REALLY expensive. Also they never give you an idea or educated guess on what the issue with your pet may be. They always just go right into a battery of tests that cost tons of money. Even a Dr. for a person know s that if you have a cough and runny nose that you have some type of cold and can just give you a standard anti-biotic. But here I have spend so much money on tests to get to the obvious issue at hand. Their staff is nice and they care about pets, but they also know how to make a buck.

Business Response:

Thank you for your patronage with Animal Hospital of Polaris. We enjoy the opportunity to care for your furry family. I apologize that you've felt that costs have been unreasonable. Unfortunately, our pets have no way of telling us how they are feeling, making diagnostic testing a necessity in their treatment. Our standards of care ensure that we offer you the best treatment for your pet and their health. If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to call the clinic to discuss them. We are more than happy to speak with you. Thank you!

My boyfriend and I got a puppy back in August, we got her off an add on craigslist so she wasn't up to date on ANYTHING. The morning after we brought her home we called around to find a vet open on Sundays since she had horrible worms. My boyfriend took her to Animal Hospital of Polaris. The puppy packet they sent home with us was awesome and had so much helpful information. I did think the visit was a little expensive ($200) for a visit. We took her to get her second set of shots only to find out she had a UTI, we couldn't get the shots and still spent over $200. Fast forward two months and we are getting her spayed.. oh boy. First quote they gave me said between 400-500. The day of it said 500-600. I noticed they had her down as a larger dog and she only weighs 33 pounds. They corrected it but I was still a little pissed. That night when I went to get her I noticed her micro chip wasn't on the invoice. The lady said she would check and took me into a room to wait for my dog. Then I heard my poor puppy yelping bloody murder in the back. About 15 minutes later they finally brought her out. I know they inserted the microchip after I said something about it not being on the invoice. (The instructions and number were left in my bag, and they had no idea I had paper work to fill out until I asked where it was) The lady even confirmed it was my dog yelping in the back room. Before the surgery they asked if we wanted her complimentary bath before surgery or when we got her stitches out, I said before. They also told me in 14 days I would have to come back to get her stitches out. I asked about the bath because she smelled horrible and the lady told me they don't give the baths before ( umm why ask then?) and that she got dissolvable stitches. The shave job they did on her stomach looks like my 4 year old cousin did it.
There is ABSOLUTLY NO communication between employees and it is super expensive. While the people that work there are very nice I'd rather not have to ask 20 questions every time I'm there to make sure my dog is getting what is needed or what we decided on. I will be finding a new vet asap.

ANIMAL HOSPITAL OF POLARIS IS a big RIP OFF. They will just walk in the room with vaccines already drawn up and make it seem like you HAVE to have it done. Truth is Dr Eaton goes to conventions where they instruct Vets on how to make more money...unnecessary vaccines..bloodwork etc. SHe is all about the almighty dollar and her attitude is really bad now. AHOP was good until there was mass exiting of the original staff. Back when Dr Heidrich and Dr Love were there they place was great then something happened that no one will talk about. They moved acrros the street and everything changed.

Make sure you bring someone to drive you back home , because you will be without arm and a leg when you leave this place.
My dog spent 2 nights there hooked on IV fluids. They gave him antibiotics for those 2 days and did 2 basic bloodwork tests. Total $1,350!!!!! And my dog didn't feel better!
Unbeliavable!
Also, my dog was treated by a "doctor" who in my opinion was shooting in the dark, trying to determine what was wrong. She is not even listed on their web site as a doctor. Go figure!

After 2 weeks I took him to another vet for the same treatment( IV fluids and antibiotics for 2 days)= $320.
I ended up taking him to OSU .At OSU he had exploratory surgery, and spent 3 days in the hospital with all post op procedures for $2000.
Animal Hospital of Polaris is in my opinion the most expensive vet in Columbus!
Friendly advice- there are much better places around Polaris to take your pet to!

I am not sure why there is such a disparity in the reviews on this place. I have two other neighbors who will never return after taking their puppies here. Face it, we all have options where we take our pets. Choose somewhere else. I assume the care they gave my pet Dwarf Hamster was fine, but the way they administered services was surprising. No one conferred with me before services were given, at no time were costs discussed and I was shocked at the bill when it was finally presented to me.

The worst part was that when I sent a personal email to the Doctor herself explaining my concerns (in a calm and rational manner) it was ignored. I responded with a "poor" review to their emailed survey and asked for someone to contact me...nothing. I think this place is hoping that there are enough new pet owners in Lewis Center that they can continue to make money off of new patients. We will never go back, not because of the price or service, but because it is obvious they don't care what you think (after you have paid the bill of course).

I came to this animal hospital out of desperation because they are one of the only ones open later on weekends. When I walked in there wasn't anyone at the front desk and no one appeared for a few minutes. When a girl finally came out she acted annoyed that we were there. My poor cat had been in pain and I was anxious to have him seen to make sure he was ok. We sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes and when we finally saw the vet she kept pushing services on us we didn't want and products that we didn't need. They made me feel guilty for not buying stuff that I just don't have the money to buy right now. Overall it was a terrible visit. I was told to speak to the practice manager Denise. She took almost a week returning my calls and when I did speak with her she was condescending and rude. I will never be returning to this place.

We recenlty took our Cat here and were originally told that we should submit a $150 blood work test to see what was wrong with our animal. When I declined, on multiple occasions, and suggested they run a parasite test first (the cheaper and logical order), the Vet fought me on it. To top it off, we when went with the Parasite Test, she went back on her word that she would waive an ear exam charge done in the same appt b/c we were unable to run blood work like she originally requested. So we paid $120 total for an ear problem we werent even there for, and a Parasite test-which tested negative of course.

She then proceeded to tell us that my cat's thyroid seemed larger than normal, and that if we couldnt do the $150 test that we should run a T4 test which is $45. Convenient of her to tell us that an hour after the fact....and don't go on a Fri night btw, because the real Doctor's aren't in.

So we brought my cat back in the following Sunday to do the T4 test and they told us their machine wasnt working. I was livid! They gave us a $5 off coupon for our next visit only because I made a comment that we deserved a courtesy phone call BEFORE driving to the appt.

Fast forward to the next Sunday when we brought her back in...when they could finally do a T4 test. Towards checkout, we tried to use our $5 coupon along with a $10 online and I AGAIN had to fight the lady on it. After explaining that we've already spent almost $200 for these so called appts, surely they can apply our $15 coupon. Which they did.

Long story short? My cat tested negative for the Parasite test and the T4 test. Their solution? We don't know what's wrong with her, so maybe you should try the $150 blood work. NEGATIVE. Needless to say we will not be returning and this place is a JOKE.

Although they said they employed an exotics vet, the med student I got instead was not thorough in her exams for my 2 guinea pigs.
I had to wait over an hour in the waiting room with my 2 cavies squealing away in the box at 8pm on a Friday night, the only patient in the waiting room. Granted they said there was an emergency surgery going on which is good he wasn't getting help, but still...
I spent 2 hours at the vet that night waiting, waiting, waiting. When I finally was seen by the Dr. (or student?) she talked a TON and was sweet, but when it came down to it didn't follow through on the things she said she would email me about after she said she'd go look up some research and then get back to me. She didn't notice that my 2 rescued pigs both had bumblefoot and she didn't notice that one had a mammary gland tumor and she couldn't give me any idea as to how many babies or how far into her pregnancy my other guinea pig was.
She never emailed me the signs of pregnancy, the cost of a C-Section, and I still haven't gotten results from their fungal tests, 2 weeks later. :( I called the next day to leave a message for her about the bumblefoot and have never heard back.
All that, and it was expensive!!! There is no discount for multiple pets. :( A nice place to look at, but a real dissapoint ment for a small animal "specialist." :(

To date, I love everyone at the faciity, with the exception of one... I found Dr Eaton to be rude, insensitive and all about "her". Its her way or the highway.

The staff is caring, gentle and sensitive to the "parents" concerns. They encourage visits, call with updates, encourage you bring a bit of home to comfort our babies when they must stay hospitalized.
For the most part, they are open to requests to delay procedures when medically prudent. Sometimes to wait a day isn't possible ..........

I cannot comment on the vet as I didn't visit one. - I went in today to check out the 'day school'. Even though I had just had a visit with my vet, they wanted to require stool samples and 2 additional vaccines that my vet obviously didn't find were needed. $56 before they would 'evaluate' her. The place is gorgeous in the lobby, but I ended up asking to see the day care as it just didn't feel right and I wasn't comfortable doing more vaccines there when they are not my vet. Pretty horrified that the 'school' is just a lockup with nothing but a person with a mop. Pardon the pun, but throw me a bone here. Make it look like they actually get to play - toys, stuff to climb and jump on. When I said 'they just play with each other?' She said 'yes, and sometimes when it's nice out they go outside and we take the baby pool out'. Just had a bad feeling so we left. After reading these reviews I'm thinking that was best. Went to another place spur of the moment in the middle of the day - they had toys, stuff to climb on, windows everywhere so you could actually see what was going on - not hidden away. Oh and there were at least 3 staff people in playing with the dogs! Sounds like the vet may be wonderful - all I can say is ask to see the "day school" before you commit.

The Animal Hospital of Polaris is the most attentive and carring animal hospital that I have ever been in. Dr. Eaton has showed that her expert knowledge of animals does not only stop there. She also eases the family by explaining to all of us what my dogs have been going through and what we can expect.

I have an American Bull Dog named Ava, and a Boxer Pitbull mix named Desiel. While Ava is a chicken little and loves everybody, Desiel very undisplined and he is also a chicken little but while their two personalites are quite opposite one another Dr. Eaton understands them both. At times Desiel can be mean and Dr. Eaton wins him over everytime.

Ava loves everybody but in the past she hated the vet until she met Dr. Nikki. She now loves Dr. Nikki from the first day they met. Dr. Nikki treats both of my dogs better than my MD treats me. I wish I could get my own doctor to treat me as well as Dr. Nikki treats Ava and Desiel.

Sadly we are moving due to a job change, but I have been trying to find the best way to thank some of the companies in town that we??ve worked with over our 7 yr stint in Columbus and I figured ??what??s better than a little pda??
Anyways, Dr. Eaton and the entire staff at the Animal Hospital of Polaris are absolutely amazing. We live around the corner and were so happy when we found them. My husband and I have no actual kids, other than our two standard puddles! One our first things we did when moving here was find a vet and we couldn??t have been happier than with our decision to select Dr. Eaton and her staff as our vet. Their new facility is absolutely amazing and it seems like they??re open 24 hours. Any time we need anything they are always there. We have used probably service they offer from the hospital to boarding in their ??Suites? to doggie daycare and of course with poodles the grooming. Ashley, Brittany, Gina, Michelle; well I could go on and on, but everyone over there is amazing and have always cared so much for Simon and Libby.
Well there are many things we are going to miss about Columbus and one of the most is the entire staff at the Animal Hospital of Polaris. We will truly miss you.

Dear Dr. Eaton,

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for all the loving care YOU and your STAFF have given my 8 year old Saint Bernard Woody. We drive over an hour just to get to the clinic and appreciate the warm welcome every time we walk in the door. Your staff has been nothing but top notch and just can not thank you enough for the care everyone has given Woody. His seizures have stopped (thanks to the right Meds you perscribed!!) and his skin is looking better everyday!!

I am just thankful we finally have found the right Vet and boarding for my 200 lbs. dog! You all seem to love him as much as we do !!

Thanks again for all the hours and phone calls you have given us! See you soon for the stray kitty that needs nuetered!

What an amazing facility! If you haven??t been there, this place is like no other vet ??Hospital? you??ve ever seen. They offer every service under the sun and the hours that they??re open work great for me. I??ve been taking my English Bulldog ??Liberty? to them since they were in their old facility across the street. Dr. Eaton and her entire staff have always taken great care of us. If you are looking for a new vet and live in the area go see her (or any of the other vets on staff), you won??t regret it.
Dr. Eaton, thank you for everything ~ you??ve always taken the best care of Liberty when we come in and our daughter loves to visit with you as well. Thanks again and we wish you and your staff all the success in the world!

This hospital and staff are absolutely amazing. I have been taking lab there (to Dr. Eaton) since 2004 since she was a puppy. She was my first dog and I always felt that she was my true first born and the care that Dr, Eaton and her entire staff have always shown has been out of this world and I would recommend them to anyone. One time my adorable pup had to have emergency surgery and of course I was going out of town for business, Dr. Eaton even took her home with her at night to watch her until I could get back in town. She called me multiple times a day to give updates on my little princess. I have since gotten a couple more dogs and they have all received outstanding care from everyone the Animal Hospital of Polaris. I guarantee that if you are looking for a quality, caring and compassionate vet that you will be extremely happy with everyone at the Animal Hospital of Polaris. Also, not only have they taken incredible care of us over the years, the fact that their hours are services offered are unmatched anywhere will ensure that they will be our vet hospital of choice as long as were around. Go see Dr. Nikki (or any of the other docs) I know you'll be as please as we are.
Thanks for everything Doc.

Sincerely,

Scott J.

Now that I saw other reviews of Animal Hospital of Polaris, I realized that my terrible experience with them is no surprise. They are exactly like some of the other reviews said --- they are deceiving consumers by charging for services they are not providing or making promises they will not deliver for monetary gains. It seems all they care about is how to get more money out of your pocket.

They mailed out mass advertisements promising that new clients would receive $100 rebate. It turned out, however, their rebate program is a complete scam and the third party they chose for the rebate program had actually ceased operation! As a result, not only I did not receive a single dime for the fictitious rebate, I was charged $9.95 so-called "registration fee" for the rebate! And you know what Animal Hospital of Polaris said? They said they are the victim and there is nothing they could do. So they used a scam to lure new clients but then do not want to keep their promises.

We are so lucky to have AHOP in our lives! With multiple pets.. 3 total, I feel that I am at the hospital more than I'm home! My pets love not only the medical staff, but the boarding, daycare and grooming staff as well! I have dogs who loooove to come play at their daycare and run off steam and the best part about it is... if I want them to come home with a bath, they'll pop them in the tub for me! I've never had an animal hospital in all my history owning pets that's so state of the art and amazing at offering all the services I need in my life! Not to mention, wonderful, caring staff that knows me and my pets by name!

We've been taking our dogs to the Animal Hospital of Polaris since 2003 when they were in their old facility and have never had anything but great experiences. Their doctors and staff are the most caring and compassionate people I've ever met, and they have always taken great care of me and our dogs. Now in their new facility they offer everything you could ever want or need and the fact that they have evening and weekend hours works great for me. I can't imagine going anywhere else!

I have never experienced an animal hospital so state of the art that includes not only veterinary care, but grooming, boarding and daycare! I have used all the services and continue to be amazed each visit. I feel confident in the care my dogs receive whether its on the surgery table, the grooming table, boarding in the resort or playing and socializing in their reputable dayschool! I feel so lucky to have a facility like this one so close to home!

AHOP is one of the best animal hospital in the area. The prices are comparable to other clinics in the area and I can get Sugar's annual vaccines and get her groomed while she is being boarded in their amazing kennel. She stayed in a room by herself where I could watch her online while on a business trip. The staff seemed to really care for her and they even gave me a report card on how well she did!

We are very happy with AHOP. We have had very good experiences and have had different vet techs, but, they all have been wonderful. They are more than a "business". If you need quality pet care, then this is the home for that.
Our dog enjoys their Doggy daycare, too.
Thank you AHOP!

Old Man River was One of the best dogs I have ever had. He was rescued by this vet office a while back. This act of kindness and charity on his behalf will never be forgotten by my family. I really liked this business when we adopted Old Man.

I've been to a couple of different vets and this one is just ok. The vets seem nice but it seems more like a business than like a place that really loves animals. They seem to like animals but I just don't get the warm feeling here that I get at other vets.

We liked this vet because it was close, but each time we go there is a different assistant who doesn't always seem that knowledgable. We signed up for the Puppy Kindergarten class that was supposed to be taught by the vet for 8 weeks, but she never did. It was always 2 assistants who were very good, but it still wasn't what it was supposed to be. The place is always clean and everyone is nice. We saw the back where they do surgery and it seems that they have very new technology. I don' t think that they are the most expensive, but definately not low cost either.

PROS: nice, clean vet office
CONS: assistants don't seem that knowledgable

The doctor returned my call immediately when I inquired about the clinic after a bad experience with another Dr. She was very good with my new puppies and Mom. The cost was reasonable and just as I was told was "ballpark" on the phone. All the personnel were very friendly. When I learned they were allowing a rescue to come in each week to become more comfortable after a negative past, that showed me some more about how these people understand and care about animals.
