This gym has the worst customer service that I have ever seen from any type of business. We were skeptical from the beginning because the place had the feel of a used car dealership, except instead of being attacked immediately, I had to wait 30 minutes before I was able to talk to the car salesman. We were given a tour and listened to the spiel of how this gym was better than the rest. We have two children and the salesman did not disclose two very import policies about the gym??s daycare. It wasn??t until our very first after joining the gym, that we were told that there is 1 hour and 15 minute limit for children 12 months and under. We had been at the gym for 1 hour and 20 minutes when someone from the daycare walked through the pool area carrying a large sign with my name on it to tell me to go pick up my youngest child. We had been told that our children would be watched for up to 2 hours. The daycare does not change diapers. At times they will come get you or page you to let you know that you need to go change your child??s diapers. That??s really nice when you only have 1 hour and 15 minutes to work out. At other times, they won??t call at all. You might pick up your child who has soiled clothes. We were also told that the daycare closes at 9p.m. Once again it wasn??t until after we had joined the gym that we were informed that the daycare closes an hour earlier for children 12 months and under.

Every hour on the hour, the pool closes for 10 minutes for anyone under the age of 15. This is the case even if the child is in the pool with their parents. Try explaining to a two year old that they have to get out of the pool for 10 minutes. This is the only gym that does this. The gym??s policy is that any time there is lightning within a 30 mile radius of the gym, the pools are closed. This includes the indoor pool. Basically, anytime there is a storm anywhere in the area, you should call the gym if you plan to use the pool because there is a high probability that it is closed for the day. It's incredible the number of times that I have gone to that gym when there wasn't a cloud in the sky and the pool was closed.

Another really annoying policy at this gym is with i.d.??s. If you forget your wallet and therefore don??t have an i.d., they will not let you in, even though they can bring your photo up on their computer. They require that you drive back home to get your i.d. No other gym has this policy.

There are better gyms in the area that you should consider.

i got out of the pool and their pool director said to me... i know we have different cultures but you need to cover up before you walk in the halls! I had been there over two hours and had not thought about my dress or race (African American). I was so embarrassed and humiliated. There is no sign saying cover up before walking in halls and my suit was a complete one piece not revealing at all... The part that hurt the most telling me I was from a different culture... Ive been an American all my life... Now I feel Muslin... and in need of covers....

This is a great health club with so much to offer! We are 24 hours and have an awesome child care. We don't have long term contracts and are constantly striving to meet the needs of our members. We have rock climbing, basketball, racquetball, steam rooms, hot tubs, 2 pools, a water slide a sauna and much more! If anyone would like to come in for a free pass please email me at jsamples@lifetimefitness.com. I'd love to show you around!

The managers do not follow up on complains seriously. Some Staffs are disrespectful. The group classes are very few and always overcrowd. Overall clean facility but similar and cheaper facilities are present in this area for much cheaper price.

Pros: clean

Lifetime fitness has decent equipment and a nice atmosphere. However, the staff won't go out of their way to make you feel welcome, as you might expect from a club in this price range. Despite posting schedules for different areas, don't be surprised if you're unapologetically asked to leave the gym because of an unscheduled event, or if you find the pool closed for no apparent reason. I'm sure there are more affordable fitness centers in the Columbus area that place more of an emphasis on customer service.

While the facilities are above average, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, especially for the amount they charge. There are some pleasant employees, but by and large they won't go out of their way to be pleasant. I'm sure there are many other opportunities in Columbus at a far more reasonable price.

Pros: Nice facilities, 24 hours a plus

Cons: Overall customer service lacking, very expensive

If my contract was up at my existing gym, I would definitely join Lifetime Fitness. As an avid athlete and bodybuilder, I try out varying gyms whenever I have the chance. Lifetime Fitness is very clean and modern, and has a variety of equipement and facilities to choose from. They're open 24 hours to fit anyones schedule. And their prices are very comparable to others.

We've been members at Lifetime for 6 months now and we really like it. The best benefit that they have for us is their "free" childcare. Not only is the childcare included with the cost of the membership, but there's so much in the childcare for the kids to do that the kids LOVE it. Also, unlike other fitness centers, the childcare is open from 8 am to 9 pm 6 days a week and 8 am to 5 pm on Sundays, so if you're an afternoon worker-outer, the childcare is actually open then.

They are fairly expensive compared to the other fitness centers but if you've got a couple kids, and elsewhere you'd have to pay extra for the childcare, it evens itself out. THey also have a hair salon, massages, cafe, raquetball courts, climbing wall (pay extra), fitness classes, cardio area, weightlifting and you can use the childcare to go to any of those places.

Their facilities are really great, in fact, they are just doing a renovation and our response was "why??". Their trainers are helpful even if you're not a client of theirs. They also have a deal with the Gahanna swim club that Lifetime fitness members can go there with their Lifetime membership.

PROS: See the review!
CONS: Pool is extra-chlorinated, parking is at a premium

I have to say that Lifetime Fitness is a great facility for people who expect more from a gym. I have a little son and the day care is great, not to mention free. The classes are free and there are no line or waiting for any of the equipment. The pool is outstanding and they have great locker rooms. I can't say enough, don't complain about the monthly fee, because of all the great stuff, it is definitely worth it.

This is probably the best gym in town given all the amenities, etc. Also the group fitness program is outstanding. The only down side is the locker room towel boys trying to act all butch. How insecure are they?!
