      I was told my car would be finished in under 2 hours when I dropped it off. I walked over the mall and shopped for over 4 and then tried to call to check on car. No one (living) ever picked up the phone so after 15 minutes of listening to recordings telling me to ""please hold"" I gave up and hiked over to check on my car in person.\nI was told it still wasn't ready so after waiting a little longer I walked next door to the BP filling station to buy a Coke and wait. There I learned why my car was still not finished being serviced and no one was available to pick up the phone. 4 Pep Boys employees (including all 3 of the mechanics I saw when I drove my car in) were settled in there comfortably, snacking, chatting and flirting with the salesclerk.\nNeedless to say I won't be going back.

      I've been going to Pep Boys for 2 years with both family cars, very pleased with the way they care for my vehicles and the prices. Jason was especially friendly and very helpful on my last visit, and took extra time to explain what was going on with my service. Highly recommended!

      I went in for some routine maintenance (oil change, tires checked etc) and mentioned a few problems I was having with my car not starting easily and getting much worse mileage than it used to. Jason was very helpful, spent time checking my car out for me and explaining some of the reasons this could be happening. It turned out I had a bad oxygen sensor and now my car is back to running in top form. He was very friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back.

      My car's air conditioning was not working. At Pep Boys, for a $50 charge, I was told my compressor was bad and would not hold any new freon. They wanted to charge us $800 for a new compressor. We got a second opinion at a different shop. We were told the compressor was good and just needed freon. They also could not find any dye in the system that Pep Boys said they added to look for a leak. We got new freon added and the air conditioning has been working great all summer. I'm not going back to Pep Boys.

      Needed a rotor installed on my '96 Honda.
      I was experiencing vibration on acceleration; suspected a warped rotor.

      Sat with my daughter in our other car (nearby) while they worked.
      Work was budgeted for 1.9 hours . . . Bob took two 15 minute breaks.
      We were entertained by watching/listening to RICK working on a Durango. Rick likes using really foul language and smoked almost a whole pack of cigarettes in 90 minutes.

      Inside . . . a big sign states, "Protective eyewear required on shop floor"
      . . . . no one wearing protective eyewear by the way . . .

      Drove car home with 95% of the vibration I had when arrived.
      GGRR-eaT experience. Just great.
