Rito's Italian Bakery

I must say that I am really disappointed with this bakery. They are really rude and it takes forever to get waited on. The stuff they sell now is not the quality they use to sell years ago. I just visited the store after living out of the state for awhile ( I just use to visit once in awhile while on vacation) and I could not get over the total lack of customer service. The attitude was so bad it was like they did not care how long you have been waiting and really did not care if you bought anything because you were just bothering them by being in the store. When I lived out of state I ordered a cookie tray and it was so poorly packed that very weak plastic covering on the tray broke and cookies were broke and smashed to the inside of the box. Not one of the cookies could be eaten unless you wanted to the crumbs and clumps from the sides of the box. The purchase and shipping of the tray was not cheap ( it was over $50.00 ) I called the bakery and they were pretty rude about it. They were willing to ship me another one but only if I paid for it in full again, including the shipping. Also, they were going to package it the same way as the original. I said no thank you and had a family member go and buy the cookies, put them in a tupperware container with wax paper and send them regular mail. Not one cookie broke and it was way cheaper. I would not recommend this bakery, I think you can get better service and product elsewhere.

I ordered my wedding cake from them and paid extra for the frosting to have a color tint (yellow) added to it. It was $40 for them to add a few drops of food coloring, but whatever.

When I showed up for the reception, the frosting was bright white, not yellow. No biggie, I was slightly disappointed, but it was only a minor glitch. A few weeks later, I called up and very casually mentioned the frosting issue expecting a refund of the $40. The manager refused. I was totally shocked because I had a contract and told her I could send pictures to prove it, but she told me not to bother. They weren't going to refund $40.

Honestly I thought they were getting off easy with just the $40. A lot of bridezillas would have expected a full refund. I just couldn't believe for $40 they would ruin a customer relationship. Horrible customer service. Go somewhere else for your cake.

My daughter and I recently tasted three sample cakes from Ritos bakery and will look no further. The icing was delicious and the cakes were moist and flavorful. We were very pleased with the sample cakes that we purchased that day. Our families are now having a difficult time deciding what flavors to use for the wedding. The choices were many and the three we tasted were delicious.

I went to the Wedding cake testing show that Rito's had had this past weekend and I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to this day for so long and just assumed that I would not have to shop any farther. I was expecting the cakes to taste wonderful since the bakery is so big and popular. Well, I was so wrong. I went with my mother and my son and they both agreed with me. The frostings were blah ... Lots of Crisco to the taste. The cake itself was nothing special. I found the cassada cake to be the only one that was worth thinking about...but we did not like the nondairy whipped cream frosting they made. The frosting was the problem....it just tasted like Cool Whip when eaten alone. My son loves cake but did not want anymore after the first piece. We couldn't help but chuckle when he innocently said we should just buy a cake from Giant Eagle. I was surprised that the staff really weren't helpful....even though there were not many people there in attendance. Aren't they trying to "sell" cakes? I do not want anyone hounding me...but at least there should be someone to guide us and describe the 20 cakes were there. We did not have anyone come up and talk to us about what kind of cake we were looking for and I never got an answer to my one question I had...." How big is a serving" of cake....since it is sold by servings. Nobody knew the answer....and nobody seemed to want to find out. I surely would like to know what size the piece will be on my guests plate. Not an uncommon request, I do not think. Maybe Rito's makes good bread and cookies...... but the wedding cake (especially the frosting) is not their specialty.

Delicious pastries, very pretty (and delicious) wedding cakes also. Two people in our family have ordered wedding cakes from this long standing bakery and they were both very good. The inside of the bakery is very warm and inviting, and smells soooo good! Parking is plentiful, customer service is above average, I would recommend.

Walk into this bakery and you will want to walk out with everything they have to offer. Besides bakery they have a deli, and numerous other items besides cookies and cakes. Their frozen pizza is great. They also have a location in Medina that is just as clean and welcoming.

Rito's bakery has been around for a very long time, and it's no wonder they are an awesome bakery. They have delicious baked goods such as: Italian cookies, cakes, and fresh donuts to have with your coffee to start your day off right! They also have a deli in the bakery. If you have never tried Rito's bakery then give them a try. You will be glad you did.
