I took my cat to Banfield at Easton on 11/19 - and while my cat was under anesthesia for a dental, I was told it would cost between $1100 - $1300 for them to continue because he needed some teeth extractions. I of course don't have that kind of money, and they made me feel like crap for not doing it. I happened to call the Humane Society to see if they knew of any lower cost places, and they immediately recommended Car Pet Clinic. After reading tons of reviews I must say that I was very impressed and they were able to get my cat in today. The receptionist was friendly, the 3 cats that serve as greeters were friendly and Dr. McGill was super friendly and took the time to talk to me about my cat and the costs for the procedure. The same procedure that would have cost me upwards of $1300 is only costing me less than $200. $5 per extraction vs the almost $100 A TOOTH at Banfield. Care Pet Clinic now has my vote of confidence for anyone looking for a vet. I will write another review once my cat is home from his surgery early December.

OMg..words can not explain how wonderful, amazing, Dr Beer and staff are at this clinich they have been taking care of Nina for about 6 years and they love her and she loves them. He is not out to make money, Dr Beer and the staff truely care about animals and love each and every one of them. On the 1st and 3rd saturday you can get your pet's vaccinated for around $50.00, who does that..Dr Beer..He will fly a Vet in to do any procedure and will not try to charge you anything extra..who does that..Dr Beer....he is the best Vet in columbus, ohio..if you have a pet who needs a vet..Dr Beer...

very caring people work here. my friend and i took her sick puppy here and they were really honest as to what to do with her and how to take care of her. it was sad but we knew that the vet docs knew what was best, they were really nice.

The prices are great and Dr. Beer himself seems knowledgeable and professional---if you're lucky enough to see HIM. But...........
One of my dog's surgeries was botched--it actually looked like a rookie intern did the procedure.
Getting staff to just fill out and sign insurance paperwork is nearly impossible. You have to constantly stay on top of them to get anything done. Getting forms faxed to your provider? Forget it. You can also forget calling them to get a refill on meds or any other type of request most vets/clinics would gladly do. It seems most problems are with the admin. staff-poor attitude-poor service.

My dog and I moved to New Jersey three years ago. We fly back just to see Dr. Beer because no other vet is as good as him. It's worth every penny.

Dr. Beer and his staff were wonderful! My dog is huge, aggressive & fairly unmanageable. I had gotten quotes of $1000 and more to have his surgery. And that wouldn't have taken care of my fear of the dog's acting up and being untreatable. Dr. Beer took time to talk to me, gave me a do-able quote, and was perfectly ok with treating my wildman. Thank God for him and his patient staff! I know how bad the dog is, but now the dog's arthritis is better, he thinks he's a pup again, and I have a vet that I know will help me!??

Pros: great value and very understanding

I took my dog in to be treated for a prolapsed rectum. When we arrived we were the only ones in the waiting room. We were seen promptly. The staff was friendly and polite.
The doctor took his time with us and explained the treatment plan.
I felt very comfortable taking my pet there.

Pros: clean facility, professional staff

Cons: not open weekends or evenings for us working folks

Dr. Beer always spends allot of time with us, we take all three animals to him. You have to ask questions, give symptoms and he will go over all of the options for your pet. We have a cat who has had problems with UTI's for years and he helped us solve her problem. Our dog has allergies and he has really helped us with the care of his skin through food and shampoo. Very expensive allergy testing was done but was inconclusive, dog is much better with the food and shampoo. We love him but one of our cats literally hates him, but she hates everybody except us.

I've been taking my cats to this vet for two years now, and I've always had good experiences. Maybe it depends on the day or how you yourself act toward them, but I've never felt that the staff didn't care about me or my pets. I get the same nurse (is that the right term?) every time and she always remembers me and the details about my cats even if it's been months since the last visit. Truthfully I've only seen Dr. Beer twice, but both times have been for more serious reasons than a simple immunization visit. The last time I saw him he was very helpful. I can see why some people had an issue with getting advice or follow-up instructions. One of my cats also has/had Giardia and he told me he would prescribe him some medicine. At this point he seemed about to leave the room, but that's when you have to be forward and actually ask him questions. A lot of professionals are so used to what they do it may not occur to them that you need extra information - they are only human, after all. I'll leave Mom2Two06 a comment telling her what he told me to do.

The only drawback I find with this vet is the long wait, I've waited up to an hour before getting into one of the rooms.

Overall I find this to be a good vet, especially at their prices, and haven't had any major concerns with them. I would definitely recommend this vet.

Although CPC is extremely afforable and some of the staff are absolutely wonderful, it is not some place that I will return for my dog's annual vet visit. The receptionist is not well-versed in hospitality and borders on rude and abrupt. I have been in with my puppy 3 times and have yet to see the vet who's name is on the front door. I asked the receptionist if I could please meet him before he did my dog's spay and she told me that he was just too busy. I came to this clinic specifically because Dr.Beer came so highly recommended and frankly am pissed off that he hasn't once administered to my dog. I've seen two other vets and both were abrupt and uninterested in the care of my dog. This is not a place I would feel comfortable talking my dog for any medical concern other than basic immunizations.

Took my pups to CPC last week and received basically the visit I expected (as in: you get what you pay for). Yes, staff will be friendlier and vets will give you more time if you pay for it. Turns out both of my babies have Giardia and I was given a pill for them to take. However, I wasn't given any additional information what-so-ever, which is disappointing. Internet research tells me that Giardia is very difficult to get rid of, was likely passed on to my cats and can be passed on to my kids. Dr. Beer didn't offer any additional advice on decontaminating the yard, house, the GiardiaVax or any other precautions to take. He didn't even really seem all that interested in seeing the cats. For basic care, I think CPC is great. The entire appointment was only $145, which included a second round of DHLPP and their Rabies. For more in depth care, it may be more worth your time to see another vet. I have a return appointment, so we'll see how that goes.

After reading the reviews, I expected to be pleased by taking my newly adopted pet here. I originally planned on taking my new cat to OSU because I am a grad student there and my mother had a great experience with her greyhounds at the clinic. But I adopted my cat from Pets Without Parents and in order to have them pay for meds that my cat needed due to a respiratory infection that started while he was there, I had to go to their vet.

I was the only person in the waiting room and it took at least 25 minutes past my appt. time to see a vet, and when I did I felt extremely rushed and had very little explained to me about the two medications to give my cat. The staff was not as friendly as other vets I've been to, and just seemed irritated with most people that were calling to ask questions. I plan on keeping my OSU appt. even though it'll mean paying for two vet appts in one week, but I'd rather take my petto OSU.

I've had pets all my life, but I have never before had a vet as caring and competant as Care Pet Clinic. The staff is friendly and helpful and I know my pets are getting the best care available in Columbus.

I have been coming to Care Pet Clinic ever since I adopted my cat 2 years ago at the recommendation of Pets Without Parents. The doctors are always willing to spend time with you discussing your pet and are so friendly and knowledgable. It continues to amaze me how affordable their services are. They also have the friendliest office cats to serve as the welcoming committee. :-)

This is a wonderful pet clinic! We have several clinics within a mile of our house, but we travel further to get to Care Pet Clinic. They are so friendly, the office is so clean, and they do not gouge you with prices. They are not only kind to me, but also very gentle and loving toward my dogs.

The vet tech Maria (who to me, seems to be more like an assistant veterinarian), is energetic and attentive and we can tell she really cares about our dogs. Dr. Beer is also very kind and treats you like you're a friend bringing a pet in. Sometimes you'll end up sitting in the waiting room for awhile, but once you're in the room, you'll realize it's because they give you their undivided attention and spend as much time as needed with you.

I love this vet! No where else have i gotten such good care and compassion out of a vet. Not only did they help me with my concerns after my puppy was spayed, but Dr. Beer called my house a few days later to make sure she was doing alright. The staff is kind and friendly, the animals there always seem happy. I love that they have in house cats. My puppy warmed up to the staff and dr. beer right away and usually it takes her a while. I wish I could give them more stars

I love EVERYONE there... the vets, the staff... EVERYONE! First of all - the other reviews are correct - they are the least expensive in town, and truly amazing care and time is taken with each animal! Twice now, I have had a situation where my pet was in discomfort, and both times, they told me to just bring him in - even though they were booked, they would fit him in, so he wouldn't have to be uncomfortable for any longer than necessary. I don't get this kind of availability from my kids' doctors!!!

we were quoted almost $800 for dental work for our cat from Banfield, and for the same procedure we paid $150 with care pet. The vet was amazing and very knowledgeable. The clinic is hard to find, but the receptionist was very helpful with that.

I love Dr. Beer!!! He is very knowledgeable about animals and shows that he cares. He will take the time to answer every single question you have an make sure you understand. His rates are absolutely unbeatable!! On the 1st and 3rd Saturday a month he holds a walk vaccination clinic from 8am until noon. You can walk in and get your pet vaccinated for usually less than 50$. This includes rabies, tags, and all your other shots!!! You can't find that anywhere else!! My kitten has to get her leg amputated due to a birth defect and his quote was $800 dollars LESS than the other two vets I went to. EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS. He is not out to rob your wallet... he simply wants to help animals. He's great. His office staff are wonderful too! They are kind and will go out of their way to help you. It's amazing. I have had animals my whole life, have lived in Florida, California and now Ohio... and have NEVER met another vet like Dr. Beer and his staff.
