These guys are amazing the love and care they gave my two cats Merle and Earl was amazing. I love that they called me a day after I took them home from their surgeries to see how they were doing.

I love Stow-Kent Animal Hosiptal. I have been bringing my pets there for over 15 years. All the vets are very friendly and now that my 6 year old daughter has a guniea pig, I also found out they see the small pocket pets. I always have had cats. The doctorsand staff there are very professional and it shows. I would never think of going anywhere else!!!

Most of the Vets there are competent and very friendly, as you see I only rated it 3 Stars. I'll explain

We took our puppy for first time vaccinations. We saw Vet Dana Jacobson, everything was fine until Bordetella vaccine Intra nasal (they place a syringe without the needle in the dogs nose and inject) Ms Jacobson grabbed my pup by the base of the neck and yanked him down on the table (was that necessary?) shoved the syringe deep into his nose (they only need to place the syringe in the base of the nose to administer) so at this point he was trying to get away from her and yelping. Who wouldn't?

She stated that I better get him under control and lessons as he's going to be hard to control because of this behavior. She also stated that he may begin to Fear bite. Hmm? So she is such an expert with 8 years experience that she is telling me my pup that is 12 weeks old will need behavior lessons because she (who he did not know) grabbed his neck held him onto a table and shoved a syringe in his nose. I was and still am appalled. She will never touch my dog again.

So you are aware they have Patient charts that we do not see and they do not give us a copy unless requested. This is where they write all the "unappealing" behaviors of your dog. Every topic you discuss is also logged on these Patient charts, so just be aware of what you tell your vet. Ms. Jacobson added to my pups patient chart that she recommended classes, this is fine but she also added that he MAY fear bite when bigger.

Why would someone who is suppose to be a professional log a record of an assumption that is baseless and when there is absolutely no evidence he would have that behavior. I find it reckless and irresponsible he was only a 12 week old puppy! He is now almost 5 months old and he does not fear bite. We have been back and saw Vet Mark Carlson 28 years experience, no issues at all. It was a relief to see a Vet with experience and one who is experienced with larger breed dogs. However her unsavory notes about my dog are still on record. I will be contacting the office to discuss this matter. I will update on the status.

I love this place. I had to put my lab to sleep and they were great. I miss him alot but the wonderful care he received all those years meant the world to me. They are always so supportive and caring. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else when I get my new puppy!!

Stow Kent Animal Hospital is a wonderful place. I have had pets for many years and have always gone to them. I've seen just about every vet there and they are all so caring and knowledgeable. Anytime I've needed them, they've been there for me and my beloved pets. I won't go anywhere else, even if the prices are lower because I feel you get what you pay for. They are always busy, so they must be doing something right!

This is the nicest vet clinic! I love Dr. Jacobson and the staff. You can tell they really care about animals and their well being.

I think their prices are a little on the high side, but I am willing to pay more because I feel my animals are well taken care of.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I have a 10 month old lab that stepped on glass. He was bleeding alot and it was after my regular vet had closed. They told me to come right up and they would be able to work me in as an emergency. The staff and doctors were wonderful with me and Brodie. I am switching all my pet's and going to Stow-Kent Animal Hospital.

I have been going to Stow-Kent for almost 20 years. In the past, they were the friendliest and most caring place in the world - which made the prices worth it.

However, in the past decade, they have become very commercial. Though there is still compassion for the animals, it is lost in the confusion of having a different vet each time you go, a huge wait to be seen, rushed appointments, exorbitant costs, and overly solicited medications.

You know - just like your human doctor appointments.

I wish they would go back to the basis - I hope they see someday that it was that old wonderful service that grew them to the empire they are today.

This place has several good veterinarians. They have emergency service available and they are open later in the evenings. The prices are higher than some places, but I like to go here because I can go after work and a lot of places don't have evening hours like they do.

PROS: Evening hours
CONS: High prices

We used Stow Kent AH when we had out cat spayed a few years ago. They were very kind, prompt, and gave us all the information we needed, as well as making out cat comfortable before, during and after her surgery. Great service!

PROS: Really care for your pets!
CONS: Long wait for appointments.

I accidently used a flea product for dogs on my kitty, Sam. I called them about 15 minutes before they closed and they told me to bring him right in. As soon as I got there, they took Sam right away! They were very caring and considerate calling me several times to let me know how my Sam was doing. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and they obviously care a great deal about animals and the people! I felt so guilty and stupid for using the wrong flea product on my kitty but they assured me it was a common mistake and they understood. We will definitely go back!

We took our French Bulldog there for a checkup - we were recommended to this place by a friend. The facility was very clean, much cleaner than other vet's office I had ever been to. The staff was very friendly, and very accomodating. Their prices were less than we would have been charged at other places we had experienced. I like this business, and would use them again.

After an irritating snafu with another Veterinary Clinic, I was referred to Stow-Kent Animal Hospital. Upon arriving for my first appointment, I had to wait for an hour and a half. This is not a very fun thing to do with an irritated cat and a crabby infant.

However, you will notice that my rating is 4-stars. Why? Because when I was finally seen, the Vet was extremely apologetic and "human." He explained why he was running so late and even deducted my entire office visit from the bill. He offered several options for treatment of my cat's condition and treated me like a "real person." He never spoke down to me and seemed to value my opinion.

The office staff was very helpful and apologetic as well and, especially with the discount, the bill was quite minimal.

I would definitely recommend this Clinic to anyone, but would caution them to check with staff about possible "slower times" in which to make appointments.

We had a Friends of Animals coupon for a free spay from the APL when we adopted our puppy. I called Stow Kent to ask questions about what all was included, were there extra charges for pain meds (another place I called charged and extra $20!), how long she'd stay.... They were very polite and knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, so I set up the appointment. We dropped Honey off in the morning, they called us in the afternoon to tell us how she was doing. When we picked her up, we decided to get her rabies vac added on and it was actually cheaper there than other places as well.
I will definately go back and would recommend them to anyone. I pass by our "hometown" vet on the way but I've had bad experiences there so the long drive to Stow is definately worth the trip!
