We are long time zoo members. My 4 daughters love to see whats going on at the zoo. There are lots of animals to see, and lots of hands on spots to go. We could spend all day at our zoo, but choose to go and see little bit at a time.

PROS: spending time with my family
CONS: the zoo parking is horrible

This is a wonderful zoo for all ages. There are always plenty of children's activities going on as well as Adult and senior citizen activities. The animals are always able to be seen and well maintained. They offer a variety of extra programs too such as little boo at the zoo, and the the lights before christmas. It makes enjoying the zoo year round even easier. The price of a family membership is easily paid for in 2-3 trips also. A definite family fun spot.

Spending a day at the Toledo zoo is a wonderful idea to occupy you and your family. The exhibits are wonderful, and they have a great variety of animals, all in lovely health. The animals all seem very happy, and I enjoy every visit we make there. The food is a bit pricey, so plan on packing a lunch, but you cant beat the entertainment. You'll love it.

This is one of the best Zoo's I've been to and I am glad this is the zoo my children will grow up with. One of the nicest things about this zoo is that it isn't so spread out like the Detroit Zoo, or the San Diego Zoo for example. You don't have to take a train or a trolley or bus here. The exhibits and beautiful buildings are close together. They offer a nice petting zoo for the kids with hand washing stations and hand sanitizers placed throughout. The aquarium is also a favorite attraction of ours here. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with botanical gardens. They have plenty of refreshment and concession stands and gift shops and a large parking lot. We also enjoy the special events like the "Lights Before Christmas" and other off season reasons to visit the zoo. We are members, so the price is super for our family of 2 adults and 4 children. We love our zoo!

This Zoo is FANTASTIC! There is always a variety of things going on here. They can be a little pricey without a membership, but you basically pay for the membership by visiting just 2 times. They have a wonderful Halloween event for kids and preschoolers and they run the lights before Christmas every year with hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights. The animals are always in plain view and easy to find. It's rare that they aren't in their homes. I recommend this as a must see in Toledo.

The Toledo Zoo is a great way to spend a summer day. They have many great animal exhibits and everything seems pretty cleanly. There is a huge bridge that connects the parking area and the zoo. That is a favorite for the kids. They love watching the traffic go right under them. The bridge has one of the neatest paints on it that I have ever seen. Christmas lights are a must see as well. Beautiful in every aspect. It is the best when you bundle up the kids. After walking around you can stop for a cup of coco! What could be better. A great holiday tradition. The exhibits are also close enough that you don't have to walk miles between exhibits like other zoos. Enerything is conected well. There is a train, carousel, and a big play area. You can bring in a picinic or eat in the Carnivore Cafe. The cafe is fun because it used to house the lions. The kitchen and prep areas of the cafe are the cleanest around. I know that because my brother used to work there! They also have an amphitheater that brings in concerts and shows. In the summer you can enjoy the symphony under the stars!

The Toledo zoo is a fairly good sized zoo with lots to see. Their African outlook is a really neat place to go. It's unfortunate though that you can't really get too close to the animals. You look from an outlook quite a bit aways from most of the animals. But beware, there are fake animals in the enclosure, so beware. It always seems as though the animals are in the way back so you can't see them. They have a train that runs around, but the last time I went, I didn't see it operating. Otherwise, nice zoo with lots to see. It is a bit pricey, they no longer accept Kroger discounts, so be prepared to pay.

This zoo is a very nice place to spend a day at, whether with family or friends. They have a fairly large collection of animals there, and the displays are always nicely kept up. Every Monday before noon, lucas county residents can enter the zoo for free with their ID. On other days, the zoo is a bit pricey for my taste, but if you get a chance to go, you will enjoy yourself.

PROS: Nice displays
CONS: A little pricey.

The Toledo is a very nice zoo and is rated as a top 10 zoo. There's a lot to see there and at a good price. I think paying to park is stupid though and they could use more to eat. The lights before christmas are also very nice.

PROS: good zoo with lots to see, decent price, lights before christmas
CONS: paying to park, needs more placs to eat

This is such a great place to take children or adults for a day out of the house. If you enjoy going to the zoo as we do you will be impressed with not only the cleaness of the zoo, parking but the displays as well. A perfect day trip for schools or familys alike. A drive for us but we find that it is well worth it!

The toledo zoo is a fun zoo, and fun for everyone. They have a wide variety of animals and some very cool polar bears. I can't wait until my daughter is a little older so we can take her there and she can see all the neat animals. It is very clean and kept up well. The animals are usually out, and there is definately never a lack of things to see. You can spend a whole day there and not get bored.

The Toledo Zoo is an absolutely charming collection of turn of the century buildings surrounded by gorgeous botantical gardens. They've recently added an African-themed area with a safari-like enclosure for the animals, gift shops, and consessions. Our family favorite is the aquarium and the bird house. The bird house is unique in that many areas are open to allow the birds to fly around you without glass or cages to impede your view. There is a drawback, however, in that a large over-the-freeway bridge connects both halves of the zoo and is tedious to climb and traverse, especially in the heat of the summer.

PROS: Beautiful Surroundings, Nice Size Zoo
CONS: Bridge

The Toledo Zoo is a lot of fun if a little pricey. They have spent lots of time and money on the new Africa Exibit which opened last year, and it was worth it. The area is beautifull, and taking the train thru the animals' enclosure is tons of fun. I was really surprised when I moved here to see just how big and nice the zoo was and it's only gotten larger and more impressive since then. The little things make this zoo fun, like walking of the highway bridge to get from one side of the zoo to the other. The kids love going over the bridge where they can hear the Zooing It song, and figure out which foot prints belong to which animals. I also like eating in the Carnivor Cafe which once housed big cats and still has the old caged area intact so you can eat in the cat cage. They have great landscapeing, lots of stuff to do all year, and hold a number of concerts at their amphatheatre. The only problem with the zoo is price. $9.00 per adult and $6.00 per child over 2 just to get in, but Mondays have free wntrance for locals, and their membership prices is very generous.

PROS: beautifully designed, lots of animals and special events
CONS: price
