They have also turned one of the most wonderful days of my life into a nightmare! I was married on 8.29.09 and I was also told my video was in editing and I called to check on the status of video and spoke with the "Director of Operations Rob" he called the editor on the phone with me and was unable to get her on the phone so he was going to call her and get back to me (he never did). When I called 3 wks later he was no longer with the company so I spoke with the new Director of Operations- Jeremy...he told me I would have to call and talk to the editor b/c she hadn't called him back. I said why should I have to call, that should be his job. He SCREAMED at the top of his lungs at me and told me if I wanted to know where the video was I need to call her. I asked him who his supervisor was and he said noone... just the owner and he isn't based in the office. I insisted on talking to him but he said there was no way to get a hold of him... I called the editor and she said it should be going out next week. SAVE YOURSELF ALOT OF HASSLE- DO NOT hire this company--- it's just NOT worth it! It's one of the WORST COMPANIES I have EVER dealt with!!!!!

A Solid Gold Sound has turned one of the most wonderfull days in my life into a never ending nightmare! They are all liars and thieves. My dj was a complete joke in his sweat suit and and total lack of knowledge or experience? I was married on 8-22-09 Im told my video is in editing by the no longer employed "Director of Operations Rob" and now the new "Director of Operations Manager Jeremy. But according to my videographer he still has my video because the check they finally sent him on 10-29-09 has bounced, 2 TIMES!!!! They know that i know the truth now and now Jeremy claims maybe the editors are lying to him then cause he isnt lying to me he tells me what they tell him.? Bottom line is i have been holdin off submitting complaints to everything i can find to let people know whats going in out of fear the company might not ever send me my video, i dont thik i will ever see it at this point weather im quiet or not.....so please do not hire this company i promise you will regret it. Just spend few extra dollars and go local!

This company does not have any DJs or Videographers of it's own. They subcontract their events out to people they have never met or given a personal face to face interview. Furthermore, they do no pay the ones they subcontract out. Many DJs and Videographers do not show up for your wedding reception or event because after agreeing to do it, they discover that A Solid Gold Sound has not paid them for prior events. If you are one of the lucky ones to get a DJ, you don't know who you'll be getting because neither does A Solid Gold Sound. I STRONGLY advise you to not do business with this unreliable, unprofessional bunch of scammers. Read their reviews first. I currently have a law suit against this company myself for nonpayment. If you are looking to book a DJ or Videographer or if you are a DJ or Videographer, DO NOT give this lame company your business. You'll regret it if you do. gemcityjeff

They owe me and hundreds of other dj's money. They sub-contract with existing dj's , you never know who you will have till the week of the event. I filled in on last minute notice numerous times. We worked our butts off for them without any compensation. A lawsuit is coming.

Our wedding was held on 10/11/2008 at the Art Museum Both the videographer and DJ's were unprofessional and were unable to carry out the services as we requested and paid for.I will list the issues with each service below. DJ's first responsibility was to announce the wedding party into the reception, this was not completed correctly despite having a written list of names in order, despite two conversations with my husband and myself prior to the reception and despite going over the names with the entire wedding party just prior to the actual announcements. The DJ's completely skipped one groomsmen and one bridesmaid, throwing off the order in which everyone entered and requiring my brother and his wife(the groomsmen and bridesmaid) to enter totally unannounced.
DJ's were unable to play any of the dinner music which we requested. We had requested the "light jazz selections" from your website be played during dinner. When dinner was served no music was playing, we had 3 separate guests go up to the DJ's during dinner to request they play something, as any music was better than none. Once requested, the DJ's started playing some of the dance music we requested during dinner. This was very stressful for me as the bride to have either no music or fast paced music playing during what was to be a very classy, fine dining experience.
The DJ's announced the bridal party dance and the entire bridal party(18 people) got up on the dancefloor, then we all stood around for about 30 seconds as the DJ's did not have the music ready to play once we arrived on the dancefloor. The was akward to say the least.During the dancing sessions of the night, the DJ's were unable to get the tempo correct on almost any song. Our ushers went up to the DJ's twice asking them to get it together and play the songs at the correct tempo. I, as the bride, went up to them once also asking them what exactly the problem was and telling them to play the songs at the right tempo. The DJ's blamed their equipment and asked the videographer to look at it, in hopes of fixing it. This never was fixed. The DJ's were contracted until 11:30 pm, however at 11pm I asked them to leave the premises since they still could not play the requested songs or any songs at the right tempo.Videographer brought a date to the wedding, I assume she was a date though I do not know their actual relationship. This woman was dressed in a gold mini dress, completely inappropriate for a formal wedding at the art museum. Unfortunately this inappropriately dressed woman is now in the background of many of our photographs since she was loitering around the ceremony and reception. This woman was standing about 30 feet away from the head table during dinner and I, as the bride, had to ask a server to go remove her from the reception area so our guests could eat without having to look at this random person in a gold mini dress.
When the videographer spoke to my husband prior to the event my husband made it clear that we wanted all guests to be interviewed on tape during the reception. During that conversation, the videographer told my husband that he would have never thought of interviewing the guests, this was our first clue that this person was not a professional videographer and we should have cancelled the service then. So, as you should have gathered by now, we do not believe the guests were interviewed, I know of one couple that was interviewed, though they were not given a microphone, so I do not know if you can hear what they said to us or not.During the dancing of the reception, we noticed there was a video camera set up on a tripod on the dance floor, no one was attending it. This stayed set up for probably 2 hours that I know of. I do not know if he had another camera and was elsewhere filming the rest of the reception or not. During this time a close friend of ours was out in the courtyard playing the piano for about 3 hours, over half our guests were outside gathered around the piano, singing and dancing. We never saw the videographer in the courtyard during this impromptu gathering and we doubt any of that amazing time was actually caught on tape.We had several guests tell us that the videographer was drinking alcohol during the reception and that he became somewhat intoxicated. I cannot verify this or not, as the videographer never told us he was leaving. Therefore, I do not know if he stayed for the entire contracted time or not.
Once we arrived home from our honeymoon my husband found that your videographer had left him two voicemails. The videographer wanted to speak to my husband about our complaints regarding his services. This again shows his lack of professionalism. Having the employee who a complaint has made about contact the customer is totally unprofessional and was very unexpected.
We do not know when the video will be returned to us, please inform of the date the video will arrive at our home.

I booked DJ and Videographer services through A Solid Gold Sound 13 months before my August 8th wedding. As the months past the only contact initiated by the company was for me to pay in full 9 months before hand to receive a 10% discount. As the day neared I had not heard from the company. Starting 21 days before the even I called every day, sometimes multiple times and everyone I spoke to gave me the run-around as to why the DJ had not contacted me (I received word from the videographer already). Three days before the event I still had not heard. A woman at the company gave me the DJ's number. I called the DJ, catching him off guard. He had already told the company that he would not do my wedding because he had done several weddings in the months prior and not gotten paid. He had been battling with the company for 2 weeks, telling them to find another DJ for my wedding and they did not. The DJ felt bad, and did not want to ruin my day and still showed up, telling me that he would worry about getting paid later, as he could see that I had already paid in full. The DJ was awesome; I just wish I had booked him independently, rather than through a Solid Gold Sound. The Videographer was very professional as well, unfortunately, my wedding was over 2 months ago and I still have not received the DVD so I cannot say how well the video came out.
All I have to say is that if you want a stress free experience DO NOT book A Solid Gold Sound.

Terrible! Is not a credible company. Do your research on this company, unlike me. The videographer was terrible and missed many of the events at the wedding. I have been promised a refund but I know I will never see it. Because that was two months ago and I have called several times.

DJ was late, not dressed appropriatly, did not have the right music. We were promised excellence and got substandard service. When we asked them to honor their 100% money back guarentee, they would not even return the calls and emails. Check the better business and save yourself a headache.

The company delivers substandard service. I paid for extra's and never got them. I asked for reimbursement, and never even got a return call. The DJ was unprofessional, late, didn't have the proper music, announced the wrong names, dressed in shorts and tee shirt when I was promised a tux, asked my guests to go to the store for him. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Look them up with the Better Business Bureau before you contract with them. over 100 complaints unresolved....
