If you think as much of your dogs as I do mine. If you want the best possible care for them as I do mine.
I have a beagle that if it werent for the vets at oakside.........he would not be here today. Most would collected there money and sent him home and forgot about him. He ran a piece of field fence into the left side of his face and it went all the way through to his right side between his skin and his ribs. I took him into Oakside and they looked at him said if Ihad any trouble to call. WELL.......at 11 o`clock at night bob the beagle had a problem. THINKING like most vets they would say well, bring him tomorrow or take him to Med vets just leave me alone. Dr. Dible came into the office and that night saved that little dogs life. That was 7 years ago and there is no way I would even think of taking my best friends anywhere else. Dr Garey and Dr. Segner whom also pratice there are just as qualified as far as I am concerned. LOVE THIS PLACE.

My parents and myself drive up from C-town to have our pets cared for by the staff at Oakside. My parents had a black lab - Josh - and they had the best care possible and felt that Dr. Tom & Dr. Dible and the staff expressed great empathy when Josh had to be put down. That was one of the hardest things I have ever seen my parents go through. My sister, mother and myself got yorkie puppies last fall - and then my sister got a rescue yorkie as well. They have all been treated by Oakside.Last fall I had to put my beloved Zachary down - he was 18 yrs old and really was just starting to experience issues w/ his geriatric age. Dr. Tom and Suki were just gems (maybe I am a bit bias as I have known both of them for more than 1/2 my life) but just the same they took my sweet baby kitty and comforted me as I said goodbye. Even with the rising cost of gas - I will continue to spend the extra money to drive up from C-town to Delaware to have my pets (my family) cared for by a group of loving and caring people - they really care for animals and try to understand their needs as well as their owners.

In my family (i live with my grandparents) they felt that vets were something they only used on livestock and horses (the animals they survived on) and that was only on a really need basis so when I got my 4 yr old sweetheart tomcat Sam at the age of 13 I didn't really know he needed yearly check ups and vacanations and so on so when he got sick for the first time last year about 3 months after his eight birthday and 3 months after mine I freaked out and due to my families finacial situation I was the one who had to pay for everything sam wise (though my family and boyfreind all pitched in everything they could so in the end i only had to pay 100 dollars) anyways I'm going off topic (I sopouse to be praising Oakside) So Sam got sick, he had a uti that I never knew he had till it was to late and crystals had formed clogging the uretra and he was rapidly going into kidney failer. This began on a sunday so I stayed up all night with him to get better and on monday at between 6-8 am I called EVERY VET IN A 20 MILE RADIUS! All wanted 400-1300 dollars just to see him and most said he was going to be put down :( So then I got oakside who said it was about 40 dollars to just see him so i went with them. I barely waited 30 seconds in the waiting room even though the waiting room was full, I waited a minute in the exam room and Dr. Dible ran in and started her work I was crying and she said its going to be ok and told me she needed to releive him right away which she did in front of me because there was no time to waste once i saw sam relax i knew she was going to save him and she not once metioned putting him down like every single vet I talked to, I said goodbye and she took sam in for an emergancy cathater (i've had one, poor sam) and an IV 2 hours after I left she said sam is fine and i cryed and thanked her but he had to stay for a few days. I was so surprised that they let me come in twice a day to see him and bring in some of his favorite foods to help with his eating. The bill was alot less then I expected (around 400) and she even gave me a free bag of the perscription he is now on which is also cheap since the bag is HUGE! (40 dollars) He had a close call once (we had run outta food and i was on vacation so m parents gave him regular cat food befor I got back since i was gone for 3 weeks) and since i knew what to do all he needed was some fluids. The best thing about all this is Sam loves her and everyone in the office (which are very caring people), he nevers likes anyone except for me and 2 other people so i was amazed! He likes going to the vet and now that I have added 3 more pets to my family (rats) i was surprised to know that he colleague Dr. Gary (in the same office) works with rats! I will never change vets because of how wonderful they are, I mean even the human society told me to put sam down. I am so thankful and I deffinitly recomend this clinic to anyone who truly loves the pets!

I could not have asked for a more compasionate group of people. I felt very at home with them on the first visit. My dog was from a rescue and was very frightened of new situations. When we were waiting in the exam room for the dr they checked on us several times. When the dr came in his assistants had told him what was going on and he came and sat on the flor with my dog and would not do any exam on her until she was ready. By the time we were done the vet wanted to take my dog home. They were also very understanding when we had to put our other dog down. Came in after hours and called to check on us after and then sent a sympathy card later. How Great.
