I had been looking for a new salon and really lucked out finding Pump. It has a great modern vibe and a friendly staff. I went to Amy and she did an excellent job. It's hard to find someone who is both personable and does a great job with cut and color. I would recommend this salon to everyone.

I went to Pump Salon looking for an update on my current haircut. I was hoping for something trendy and fun, since this is the vibe that Pump likes to portray. I was sadly disappointed! My 'stylist' spent all her time chatting about her own upcoming wedding and barely had time to ask me what I wanted. My hair turned out terribly, and when I asked her to fix it, she became offended. The whole production was a nightmare. I would not recommend this salon to anyone!
PROS:
CONS: Too pricey, too loud, too bad I got a crappy haircut!

I've been a Pump customer since 2005 and I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my hair done! My stylist, Lisa, always achieves a perfect, natural color for me and my cuts are always outstanding. I love the free drinks and magazines as well as the assortment of products they sell. I live out of town but I don't let anyone but Lisa touch my hair!
Pros: best color and atmosphere

Haircut with Robin. This is the worst hair cut I've ever had. I told her specifically I am getting my hair fixed as one side is cut into and thinner than the other. I showed her which side. When she was done I felt one was thinner than the other and pulled my hair forward to show her. She just walked away and said to call her if I had questions and continued on the computer. No thank you, no it looks great. Nothing. I had asked her to cut into the back more to make it piecy. She cut into the side that was already thinner. She admitted this when I came back. She said she cut into the wrong side because that was the side I was pIaying with more. I had asked her to cut into the back. Why wouldn't she look at my hair and feel it before cutting more into the wrong side? I sacrificed 2 inches of my length to fix it and left there in a worse situation. It is as if she wasn't paying any attention. She also cut the underneath of my length an 1 1/2 inches shorter than the top layer. This is bizarre. This looked really funny? I have not idea why. The piecy ends come into two strands pf two piece or four, leaving just lose hairs and making no impact. She admitted this when I came back. There are a lot of loose hairs she said. The layers are not blended or balanced. They are so random and just chopped up and one side is shorter and cut into than the other. When I went back to have it fixed she asked me to tell her what to do. I told her I can't see the back of my hair but wanted it blended and balanced on both sides. She kept insisting for to tell her what to do. She even laughed at one point as if there was something wrong with me. It was very unprofessional and insensitive since I had lost two inches of my length and came to her to fix. She admitted she cut my hair on the wrong side when I came back and then proceeded to tell me it looks balanced even though it wasn't. When you pull it up and one can see one side is thinner and shorter. The owners of Mitchell's and Pump must not care about their quality of service because everytime I step into one of their salons their hair dressers make monumental mistakes. Their charges are outrageous for the service they attempt to give. Robin charged me $53 as she was an Art Director.
Pros: location
Cons: poor quality service

I have been going to pump salon for years now and I can't think of a better place to get my hair cut. Nicki and Morgan are great at what they do. For a guy with very little style they always have my hair looking great. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. I have also heard a lot of great things from girls who have visited the salon upon my recommedation.

Pump Salon was recommended to me by my boyfriend when I moved back to Cincinnati. I have been cut by and colored by Morgan. Each time I have walked away from my appointment fully satisfied in every aspect of my visit to Pump.
One of the most important things to be when it comes to my hair care is being sure i can trust my stylist. At Pump, that trust comes easily as Morgan has taken the time to talk to me about what hair styles might work best for me, how to achieve the look I desire, and how to maintain those looks in a daily basis. Everyone there is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and FUN! they take a strong interest in making you look and feel great!
From the moment you walk in you are greeted with helpful staff and waits are pretty much inexistent. The decor and music create a very fun and energetic atmosphere. I also find the prices to be very reasonable.
.
I've never walked away form a visit disliking or even doubting my hair style. I would recommend Pump to anyone looking for a great hair salon.
Pros: Everything

I had an appt at 12:30 with Thaddeus and this was the first time I have ever gone to Pump. I was checked in, had a seat, and got a free drink. Flipped through about five or six pages in a mag and then Thad was ready. I was shampoo-ed by his asst. Then the magic began, I brought in a picture of the general Idea of what I wanted. And he started cutting and we talked which was nice, then I watched has my hair transformed into the picture. Then he asked "what do I think?" I wasn't sure about the sides, but he continued styling my hair until I was 100% sure. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I love my hair, and everything was Great!! I Highly recommend it. It is hip cool, and just making an appt gets me excited because I know I will look great walking out. True the best experience I have had at a salon. I have gone twice more and I still get wow-ed every time. A+ I don't normally write reviews, but this one I had to share. THANK YOU PUMP !!!!
Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: NOTHING

By far the best Salon that I have ever been to. I have been going there for almost 2 years now and will never switch. Great people and they are always upbeat and fun to be around. If you want a great atmosphere, great people and GREAT HAIR this is the place for you!!!!!!!!

I've been going to Morgan at Pump Salon since 2002 and I absolutely love it! I've been to a couple other girls too, which were also really great. Even though I moved to Southern Cali 2 years ago, I still plan my visits to Cinci around getting my hair colored with her. The salon is funky and upbeat, and everyone is always super nice too. The price is very fair compared to the amazing talent they provide. Also, they sell all the Bumble & Bumble products you need, which are the best. I've been using B & B products exclusively since I started going there. Overall, I always look forward to going there, and I always LOVE the end result of having fabulous hair :)

I have been to several different salons and by far this was the best hair color/cut I've ever had. The salon is fun and vibrant thanks to the music and colorful atmosphere, while there is always fun conversation. Everyone I have experienced has been kind and eager to make you feel at ease. Prices are very reasonable for the kind of service and you receive. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Male or female!

my first experience w/pump was awesome. kelli (designer) had cut my hair and she gave me the haircut i've wanted for YEARS but could never get from all the other salon's i've been to. cost me $30 for cut&style. would give it 5 stars, but my experience yesterday was awful. i made an appointment for 1pm for nicholena.. haircut is okay but in the middle of my haircut, i guess her food came and she started rushing. i asked her to thin out some of my hair but not the front.. and she left me with some layers in my bangs that are not even a inch from my hairline.. dried my hair for a few minutes (my hair was still half wet when i walked out) put some hairspray in and charged me for cut&style. ($40 for being a director)

If you are looking for "trendy whats in now" salon then Pump is the place for you. Most salons in this area are very quite and seem dead when you go in. But when you walk into Pump not only is the staff lively but the colors on the wall, and the music playing throughout are as well. They even have tvs around the salon that play fashion shows on them. Its unique and like nothing i've ever expirenced before. I've been to pump quite a few times now and i can say that i've never walked out with a bad cut or color. so if you're looking for a great place thats fun and stylists that are the best around then look no further PUMP is the place for you!
Pros: trendy stylist, dress code there is great, great cuts and colors
Cons: wish they did waxing

I"ve been to pump a few times and I really like it. They all seem to know what's in and won't let you leave with something that's out. They are always busy and seem to have fun. So if you want good hair and fun people go to pump. O' yeah---and they stay open till 9 so friday nights are cool to beat the rush!

....visit Pump. I've been a customer for over a year and can say with certainty that if you're looking for a great cut, a fun atmosphere and a professional staff, this is the salon to visit. Each visit has resulted in a great cut and color; I've never once left dissatisfied with the quality or style. The stylists are professional and are great at listening to your requests while offering suggestions and feedback. If you're looking for a new place to try, I highly recommend Pump. You'll leave quite happy with the results!

I'm super picky about haircuts/hair color, and I came to Pump several years ago, nervous to trust my hair to someone new! I lucked out and they gave me ROBIN, who is just spectacular! I go, let her know what I want, sit back and relax - it always turns out amazing. She's a ton of fun, too!
It is pretty expensive, but I consider it a good investment. My highlights are done so well & naturally that I can go a little longer between appointments without looking like a crazy lady. I'd rather spend the money (usually around $125 for cut & highlights, plus a tip) for a job well done than 50 bucks less for something that disappoints me. I highly recommend Robin - she's the best!
Pros: Service, Talent
Cons: Price

Pump Salon in Rookwood is one of the best salons I have been to. The people were the nicest and very talented. If you want the best of the best, ask for Sam. She's younger but she has the skills like she has been doing it for ages. She's the best. It is on the pricey side, but its well worth it.

I've had two different stylists at Pump Salon, and they both did exactly what I wanted. They made suggestions for my color and cut that would work well with my skin tone and face shape. I completely trust them to give me a great looking haircut.
The shop is a little on the trendy/funky side and is sometimes a little loud, so if you're looking for a relaxing spa atmosphere, this is NOT the place to go. I also paid about 50 bucks for a haircut and about 120 for color, so it's not exactly a bargain hunter's dream, either. But for the quality of the color and cut, I think it's worth it to treat yourself every once in a while.
Pros: talented stylists
Cons: expensive
