An Underwhelming Experience

by Roberto J. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,404

We were seriously underwhelmed by the exhibits at this museum. Out in California, you hear about so-and-so being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and you somehow expect something larger and much more impressive. We actually found the painted Fender Stratocasters on display outside the museum (part of some fund-raising event) more interesting than anything inside.

Too small!

by Tenille K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,063

We went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a afternoon of fun. The hall of fame was much smaller than we expected. In fact we did the whole hall of fame in about 1 hour. Also, it was expensive to get into the hall of fame. Because of the size, the expense, and the fact that there is just not that much to see there, we do not recommend the hall of fame. Also, there is very little interactive activites so I would not recommend it for children.

CONS: Cost and Size

Great Place to Visit

by Anabella G. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,110

I went to a concert here a few years back and I really enjoyed it. I loved the stage set-up and the sound system was fantastic. We got to the concert early so we had time to look around and they have some really neat items here. I would definitely recommend taking a visit here whenever you're in town. The Science Center is near by so if you're interested you can make a day of it!

Legendary Musicians

by Megan D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 11,137

This is a really neat museum that should be seen at least once! The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame pays tribute to the greatest legends who shaped rock n roll history as we know it today. A few names that come to mind are The
Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Madonna, but there are so many artists who are portrayed in wax here, and who have personal items (like stage costumes, guitars) preserved in glass cases. This place is pretty amazing.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

by Maria S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,708

The only thing I didnt like about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was that the music the band were playing on a stage in the lobby area was too loud.
The displays were awesome. It was a little overwhelming and I felt I missed seeing some things because of it being crowded.

Musical History

by Jennifer Z. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 579

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is an internationally-known museum that pays homage to the greatest rock-n-roll artists in history. It's a gigantic glass triangle, filled with memoribilia from the legends - Jimi Hendrix's guitar, Madonna's stage costume, Eric Clapton's sheet music, and Elvis's suitcase, for example. It's cool to have a look inside who the artists were beyond their music. The museum is gigantic and filled with rare treasures of this sort - it's always expanding to add new artists, too.

PROS: Fantastic history & trivia
CONS: Gets boring for younger kids

by Lisa L. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,944

If you love rock 'n roll, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must see. There are all kinds of unique items. There's even a phone that was installed by Yoko Ono, and when it rings, whoever picks it up will talk to her live! The gift shop is great. There are just floors and floors of original items from all kinds of famous rock and rollers and musicians.

Great displays

by Jen P. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 569

This is a great place to spend the afternoon if you have any interest at all in rock and roll. There is something for everyone, from the early days to the fairly current. There are costumes worn by a huge variety of artists. There's a car hanging from the main ceiling, as well as one on display. There are audio displays where you can listen to rock and roll history. There are often traveling displays that stay for short amounts of time, just to keep things fresh. There are several floors to the museum, with each area dedicated to a certain era. There is even a Pink Floyd "Wall" area. You can grab a bite to eat at the small food shop, and pick up souveniers in the gift shop. Parking is extra and is down the block a bit, but you can be dropped off by the front stairs. It doesn't take more than a day to see everything that's inside, but it will take a few hours. This is not a stop in and leave shortly afterwards kind of place.

So, you think you know everything bout Rock N Roll?

by lookingformore S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 664

It's hard to believe we have the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame but don't get the award show announcing the inductees. You can spend all day at the Rock Hall and watch the movies, see the clothing and more of the rock inductees and just indulge yourself in the Rock N Roll history.
