The below review is truthful. However, after pondering what to do, I returned to the salon and asked for a "re-do" - a request that they kindly accommodated. My original stylist apologized, and, without acting "put-out" re-cut my hair to my utmost satisfaction. It now looks amazing! I will return a happy customer.
This is the story: My friends - and rightly so - were BEGGING me to get a haircut since it had been several years since my last one. I had taken a scissors to it many times - and, it was obvious. My hair was a wreck!!! I chose Charles Scott because I knew it to be a little pricey, and, I thought that I'd get a really good cut at a pricier salon. I told the stylist that I'd leave it up to her as to the best look, knowing that my current look was definitely NOT the "best look". In fact, almost anything - a mohawk, even - would have been an improvement at that point.
After leaving the salon, I thought that I looked absolutely horrible (of course, the receptionist is trained to tell everyone how beautiful they look upon exiting) and pretty much wanted to not be seen in public, but, I was willing to go home and play with it to see the final result.
With just a slight, teeny-tiny difference in its length, there were no apparent differences in style, shape, fashion, etc. I looked exactly the same. My hair still had that dated 1970's look of which I wanted to rid myself!! For my hard-earned $50, I wanted to look BETTER!
The next day, I saw one of the friends who had been urging me to get it cut. I didn't say anything. Later, she asked me when I was going to do "it" (a haircut). When I told her that I had done "it", she was speechless, not knowing what to say. Everybody who sees my hair assumes that I have yet to get "it" done.
Upon further review of the cut, I have yet to find an even strand of hairs. Frankly, I could have done better with my trusty scissors - and no styling experience.
I'd call and get a "re-do", but I'm afraid of letting a disgruntled stylist touch my hair!
I have learned an important lesson: When it comes to styling salons, one does NOT get what one pays for!
This is my favorite local spa. The spa offers many services and packages from which to choose. A one hour massage will surely help you relax! They also offer all the traditional salon service like cuts and colors. The staff here is fabulous they really do a great job of taking care of you! Check out the website for all the latest info and specials.
This salon is one of the most praised in the city. The owner, Charles, does a great job, although it is quite impossible to schedule an appointment with him. The prices are quite high, but they are in part justified by the great staff with many years in training, and by the great customer service.
CONS: High prices
I had the pleasure of going to Charles Scott Salon and Spa back a couple of months ago, and it was a very pleasurable experience. I really loved it. They offer many things at their Salon and Spa and I would recommend this to any woman out there. They are a little pricey but all in all not bad believe me it is worth the few extra dollars that you pay. I found their staff to be very friendly.
I have never felt sooo relaxed! This was the most amazing massage I have ever had. I am a massage junkie and have had many different massages. But, Karey was able to diminish my longstanding headache completely by working throughout my neck and shoulder areas. Her technique was similar to those of physical therapists I have been to for treatments. The spa is soothing, and Karey also used hot packs on my tight muscles. Her experience & knowledge was impressive. Also, the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Karey for an exceptional & thorough massage!
Pros: relaxing atmosphere
The brow waxes are great! perfectly arched brows every time.
The front desk is, however, not the best. They act put out by having to check you in or check you out. They are usually on the phone and I have to wait to check in or pay. I'm never greeted with a smile or a friendly hello. Also, usually when I call I am put on hold.
I have been going to Charles Scott Salon and Spa for the past 10 years. Every time I am there I am greeted promptly and I have received the very best service!!! Their salon and spa have been fabulous to me and all my friends that go there. The owner Chaz has always made a point to say "Hello!" and go out of his way to make sure my experience is awesome. He is truly a owner that cares about his clients!!
Thanks Chaz for everything!!!
Pros: Everyone does their job well and you feel welcome. They are appreciative of your business!!!
Have been to Charles Scott several times, mostly because it is convenient to where I live. Not impressed with the talent of the hairdressers, receive very mediocre service for the money and the receptionists are rude and indifferent. They cancelled my hair appointment on two occassions without letting me know until I actually showed up at the salon. The receptionist thought it was kind of funny??! Finally decided to change salons. Will not ever return to a CS salon. Their services are too much $$ for the poor quality service and talent.
What a pampering experience. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgable. I had the one hour massage, mini facial, spa manicure and pedicure. This visit was a gift, so the gratuity was not included in the gift card. There was no question from the front desk about leaving one. I did of course, the staff was deserving.
Pros: Relaxing, friendly atmosphere
Just wanted to say the Salon is Great! Had a wonderful pedicure by Beth Try them out!
Pros: Good Coffee, Friendly, Great staff
I was very pleased with my visit as I had a color correction and hairdesign. The front desk was very polite and professional. My colorist was very educational on what to expect and how to care for my color. The owner took care of my hair design. I was quite impressed with his knowledge and approach to haircutting. I am very excited about my new design and color! The staff seemed quite professional in their attire. I was impressed with the front desk image of uniform, name tags, and headsets. Seemed very busy but handled clients well. Loved decor. I received a spa tour and I am anxious to try their spa.
Pros: ambiance, friendly, menu of services
On first impression the front desk staff was extremely rude and unconcerned. The stylist that the receptionist had recommended was sloppy in appearence and impatient and rude as well. The color and cut that I recieved was lesser quality than if I would have gone to the local elementary school, and had the art class do my hair.
Pros: nice building
Cons: talent, attitude
