My family and I found the Favret Heating & Cooling Company to be a valued partner in our recent home renovation project to finish a 90-year-old basement. Coordinating their work with plumbers and carpenters alike, they replaced and repositioned our old furnace, air conditioner and water heater with new high efficiency equipment. At the end of every day, their technician took time to show us progress, taking appropriate pride in his own craftsmanship. He also trained us on the new equipment when the project was complete. And all the work was accomplished according to the original project estimate including all applicable discounts.

We are very pleased with the decision to work with Favret ... we continue to work with them for regular service today ... and would recommend that you include them among HVAC contractors you might be considering for similar type of work.

I would strongly,strongly, strongly recommend Favret Heating and Cooling.

I asked their sale's department to add my name to their prospect list and to keep me informed whenever a good deal surfaced because my system was 20-years old and would eventually need replaced. Their sale's department called me every so oftern with deals and offers, and even though I was never ready to commit, they kept me informed as I had requested.

Sales called one time when a great rebate deal came available, and when I priced their deal against other HVAC vendors, it was indeed a great deal, so I decided now was the time to replace my old system.

When it came time to install (based on my calendar, not their calendar), they came when they said they would, did what they said the would, followed-up after the system ran for a while, and I felt they went above and beyond with their customer service.

They definitely minimized my stress and maximized my comfort.

I would use them again in a heartbeat, and I recommend them to others whenever I get a chance based on my oustanding experience.

I would encourage you to consider them - I am glad I did and you will be too.

We have been happy customers of the Favret Company for over ten years. Over that period of time we have had them replace our old gravity furnace with two new Carrier units, both furnace & AC. They were very creative in designing a custom solution for my 80+ year old home. We have also used Favret to install gas lines and a new hot water tank. In every situation the installers have been professional, timely & courteous. Their pricing has always been very competetive as well. It has been a pleasure to work with The Favret Company, and I would gladly reccomend them to anyone.

I have used Favret Heating and Cooling for both my home and business. They have always performed excellent work but most importantly they have been responsive. My furnace went out on one of the coldest days of last year. They had a technician out to my house within 2 hours.( I have young children and was very concerned when I woke up and the house was 50 degrees). I am most thankful, though, for the time they replaced my water heater. The salesman talked me out of the more expensive option I had been planning for. I spent less than half the money and it has worked perfectly. More importantly, the installer decided to check the vent for the water heater within the wall(which no one had ever done before) and found that the vent was completely blocked and most likely had never been vented properly. It frightens me to think of the amount of carbon monoxide my children could potentially have been exposed to. I recommend Favret heating and Cooling without reservation. They possibly saved my family's life.

I have been a loyal customer and maintained a service contract for 20 years at 3 different residences. However, on 7/3/10 my opinion changed and I will not recommend these folks. My furnace froze up and I had three different guys come out all with different analyses. The last tech told me their sales guy needed to come out to analyze resolution. I called the service manager and asked why sales not service was to resolve.They had no interest in resolve but in selling me a new $10,000 plus unit. It was like the bad radio commercial about the tech who drileld the hole or hid the cat toy in the unit. The sales person failed to show for 3 times prior to the arrival of the new furnace. On delivery/install day, he showed as flippant as he was on the phone only to have the wrong electrical parts and the wrong size materials delivered. Had he even come out to measure and see the finished basement he could have prevented another timely mistake and the techs could have at least installed the new unit. Now we will go another week end before and IF this gets resolved. meanwhile no AC for over a week and the sales manager is not at all responsive or apologetic nor will he call back. This is not customer service nor honest work. I heard from the techs this is not an isolated issue and they said no matter what they say, unless the customers complain this falls on deaf ears. I suspect the service techs get part of the sales commissions to replace versus repair. Even when the sale manager came out he said the airflow problem the service tech told him about was not as serious as he had been led to believe. Then why replace and not repair? Because he would not get paid for a new unit...I tried to stop all of this and he then changed his mind again...Ha dhe even come out before the install date as he should have we could have perhaps gotten an honest answer or whould he tap dance again?

Called because furnace fan was making noise, then stopped running. Tech came out and said it was a bad capacitor used to jump start motor. I questioned his diagnosis because it made noise while running. He assured me and said I was lucky because it was only a $19 dollar part. He offered no cost estimate other than "$19 dollar part" then presented me with a bill for $160. I was not happy, but thought if that was all it cost to fix the problem I was lucky. When I tried to run the A/C 4 days later, the fan would not start. When I called to complain, and ask for a refund the would only refund the $19 dollars, but if I had them replace the system they would give me $160 credit. When I explained that the offer sounded a lot like conspiracy he went on to tell me they were running some great deals. Avoid this company at all costs!

We have had Favret servicing our heating and a/c for many years now. They have been very professional, courteous, and clean. They show up on time with a call to let us know they are on their way. (Our previous HVAC people were always late, or didn't show on the right date.)

Service tech disappeared with a part to our furnace for days. Calls to the Favret customer service line were met with rudeness and uncaring personnel. I was polite to everyone I spoke with because I was afraid if I made them mad they would take even longer to fix my furnace, and even then they were rude, short and unprofessional.
Don't leave yourself at the mercy of these people. It is a frightening experience.

They did some work on our house that turned out to be problematic for us and it was slightly difficult to get them back out here. After that they tried to sell us even more stuff to remedy the problem even though we only wanted original fixed. In their defense they fixed original problem but I think we will stick with smaller companies in the future.

We have had them do routine inspections of our heating and air conditioning twice now, as well as install a whole-house humidifier and install a new furnace filter rack and have been very pleased with their service. All of the repairmen that have been here have been very professional and offered good advice.

PROS: Excellent customer service and workmanship
CONS: Could possibly find a lower rate, but not for the quality of service

I left a message for Favret Heating and Cooling Systens on Sunday, October 3, 2010. Bill W. of Favret returned my call within minutes....I was impressed!\r\n\r\nI told Bill that the fan on our furnace was blowing cold air. No heat. If you remember, Sunday morning the temps were in the high 40's. I explained that the gas meter was moved to the outside of our house. The pipefitters lit the pilot light on the gas dryer and hot water tank. He wasn't sure about the furnace.\r\n\r\nBill walked me through all the steps to re-starting the furnace. He assured me that it would be safe to re-set the (red) button. The smell of heat was WONDERFUL!\r\n\r\nBill made our day! He didn't need to come out and he walked me through the steps! My family is grateful!\r\nAnd Bill said there was no charge.\r\n\r\nThank you so much!\r\nKathy Findlay\r\n
