The ambiance is beautiful especially in the summer, when they open the patio seating. The food is not all that great; their flat bread or Flamekush Paris is pretty good although their other limited items on the menu may be overpriced. Nothing uniquely French flavored. They do have a pretty good assortment of pastries; the best I would recommend is their chocolate mousse!! a must-try.

I ordered french onion soup with my lunch, and the person behind the counter said "feel free to take a cup of cheese and croutons", so I did... and was charged for it!
So let me get this straight... I order french onion soup, but the soup is only onions and broth and I have to pay extra for the cheese? If that's the case, then it ISN'T FRENCH ONION SOUP!
What a rip off!

I have to say that the atmosphere is really the only thing going for this place. The bread and pastries are ok but Panera has just as good and the food there is way better. La Catelaine's food is overpriced and really isn't great! Salads are horrible, entree's are not great either. I was disappointed to say the least!

The prices are reasonable and the food is absolutely fantastic, especially the soups! The pastries are to die for and the decor is elegant. The coffees are always freshly brewed and the service is great.

I love the atmosphere and food at le Chatelaine. The food is well-prepared, and most of all the desserts/baked goods are excellent. If you're looking for a delicious fruit tart you've found the right place!
PROS: excellent food, French bistro atmosphere
CONS: a bit pricey for the quality

I love their french onion soup and pasteries! Everybody agreed that La Chatelaine not only tastes fantastic, it is not really expensive as well. All my french teachers took us on field trips to visit this place!

This is a charming little restaurant with truly delicious and authentic French food, especially pastries. It is fancy enough that I brought my 4-year-old daughter there with some trepidation, only to find a friendly staff and several other families with children there. I have only been there for lunch and brunch, things may get more formal in the evening.
A wonderful lunch can be had for under $8.
