I love Crescent! Yes, some things are higher, but not everything - you have to choose what you want to buy there. They carry items that I haven't seen anywhere else (certain pastas, sauces, homemade items) and they carry a good variety of locally made goodies.

The prices are a little on the absurd side, generally 20%-40% Higher than say Homeland/Walmart/Target/Crest/Buy4Less. The strip steaks were $15/lb. The quality of the steak was what I get from Crest Foods for around $9/lb. For organic foods, there are better options out there for the price, Akins comes to mind. The milk was around $5.00 for a half gallon, it is around $3.00/half gallon at the Belle Isle Walmart for the same organic half gallon of milk. I noticed many of the dairy items were very close to the expiration date. They did have a solid selection of organic breakfast items, however its hard to pay $9.00 for a small box of cereal when I can spend $5.00 at any other supermarket in the metro for the exact same box. The customer base appears to be primarily seniors from Nichols Hills, Honestly if I was 80 years old, I would not want to drive any farther than I need to.

Bought several groupons intending to stock up on some grass fed beef. Selection was really pathetic in the meat department, and while they do offer some organic food (a tad more than super target) the prices are outrageous (6.49 for a box of cereal, with most being over 5 dollars). They write Natural and Organic on their bags, and their intentions are good, but their prices and selection aren't. I wouldn't be so negative, but the employees are rude too. (3 rude employees in 1 visit) I took a friend that was also excited to see some imported food, and she was disappointed as well.

This landmark grocery store is Located in Nichols Hills near The Coach House. So, you walked down the aisle but still can't cook. So what? Married a long time and still haven't located the kitchen in your house? At Crescent, it's a breeze - they even make their own salads in the deli area. Start with the barbecue right in the enclosed entrance. The slow-cooked barbecue perfumes everything and will entice you and there's nary a microwave in sight. The produce is fantastic and unusual items are the norm here. Great cheese selection, too
