Miller and Miller Funeral Home handled both of my grandparents, my husband's father and grandmother's services plus many other people I know. There have always been caring and professional. They helped us deal with a suicide and a relative that died in a fire. They were very caring and down to earth. I have never heard one person complain about their service, except for the comment on here. Makes me wonder if it's a competitior?

I've recently lost my father and I have been dealing with Miller and Miller funeral home. I have dealt with both the Hugo and the Valliant offices, and I'd like to share my experience before anyone else takes their business to this funeral home. Because NO family who has lost a loved one should be treated like my family has. The shortest version I can give, is this: Upon my father's death, there was suspicion by the family of foul play. We were ASSURED by the funeral home that standard operating procedure for someone who dies at home, is that blood and other fluids are drawn, and various tests are performed on these fluids. These fluids were never drawn. However, the next morning, my family was told by the funeral home that all fluids were taken and sent to the medical examiner. That was a lie. No fluids were ever even taken much less tested. We found this out, AFTER the embalming process was performed, from another employee of the funeral home. Since no fluids were drawn, the medical examiner signed off on the cause of death as natural causes. Now, my family has to request a private autopsy, (which the funeral home told us would cost 25000 dollars. Every private practice I called, which was about ten different ones, and no quote was over 5000 dollars). When I had asked for assistance in finding a professional to perform a private autopsy, I recieved zero help from the funeral home, and so I personally stayed up all night researching what to do and who to call to get an autopsy performed. I called the forensic pathologist, made all arrangements for pick-up and transport to the forensic pathologists office. At 10 pm the night he was transported to the forensic pathologists office, I get a phone call from the doctor, at which point she informs me, that absolutely NO paperwork or any kind of identification was sent with the body they recieved, AND medicine, with a DIFFERENT person's name was sent with him, which puts into question did they even send the correct body three hours away for the autopsy to be performed. I then had to endure having the doctor send me pictures by means of email and try to identify my father's body through these pictures, so that she could be certain they had sent the correct person. And this is the SHORT version, and it is not the FIRST time that this funeral home has done something like this to my family, approximately seven years ago, a family member placed something in the casket to be buried with my grandmother, and one of the funeral home employees STOLE the item from the casket, and was caught in the act. Unfortunately there are not many options in the rural area where my family lives, which is why we opted to use this funeral home again. I will NEVER make this mistake again.

No one more wonderful than Linda, Clifton and the Miller family. They've handled many services for family members and I intend for them to handle mine even though I no longer live in Hugo. If there can be such a thing as a perfect funeral, the Millers do everything they can to assure that it is. My family holds a great deal of respect for the Millers.

I have only had one experience with this funeral home, but the arrangements and services were outstanding. The details were handled professionally and with great care for the family. I don't know how they handle death day in and day out, but they do it well and graciously.
