When I first moved to OKC in 05 I had gone to a community cancer screening where I was advised to see a urologist about some lumps in my prostate. I immediately looked up a doctor in the phone book and scheduled an appointment. That doctor confirmed the bumps and declared I needed a biopsy immediately. Since the procedure was a surgical procedure that was going to cost me over $1600 I decided to seek a second opinion. I consulted a couple of surgical RN's I knew and they both said "go see Dr. Danny Barnes." I called to schedule an appointment and they worked me in within a couple of weeks. I found his staff to be caring and knowledgable. Dr. Barnes answered all my questions, since he also noticed the bumps, he ordered a sonogram of my prostate. His further testing, which was paid for 100% by my insurance, proved I didn't need the biopsy. He offered some conclusions as to why the other doctor failed to be thorough which eased my mind. I have been seeing him since and his professionalism and the care he shows his patients put him head and shoulders above any urologist I have seen. His team reflects his caring attitude and they work hard to make you feel at ease in a stressful situation.

I went to UA for Paraphimosis and explained that to Dr. Shelby Barnes. Without confirming MY un-medical diagnosis, he scheduled me for a circumcision. Dr. Daniel Barnes did the circumcision. 2 weeks after the surgery, I had to go to the ER for extreme bleeding from the wound because a few "self-releasing" stitches had released early.

I am now healed, but I now have paraphimosis below the head of my penis and erections are extremely painful due to the constriction below the head. My erect length pre-op was 7", now 3 months post-op, I am less than 4" with a large amount of excess tisssue. Sexual intercourse is virtually impossible.

Am considering filing a Medical Malpractice Lawsuit if they cannot fix this 100% to my satisfaction.

ASK AND SHOW YOUR DOCTOR WHAT YOUR PROBLEM IS AND YOUR CONCERNS OR THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.

Pros: friendly staff, most of them

Cons: Extremely busy, not attentive to patient needs.

After making a midnight trip to the Emergency Room in Shawnee for the severe pain of a kidney stone the ER Doc recommended U.A. (Urology Associates) and since I had a very large stone that was not going to pass the normal way it was imperative I see a urologist very soon. They set me up an appt to see a doc the very next day. Even though I was in quite a lot of pain the Doc was a bit peeved that I would ask for some medicine for pain and I ended up getting a shot of Demerol in his office and then I was sent to the hospital (Deaconess) for removal of the stone, and the insertion of a stent into my kidneys. Again I was not given any pain medicine and had call and request it after the procedure. I was grudgingly give 12 tablets of something and had to make due with those. Not sure why he was so against pain medication but next time I will find another Doc without opiate phobia. All in all it was not a pleasant procedure.

We've had to go here several times the past months, the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The doctor is very funny and professional and his exams are very thorough. My boyfriend has been experiencing some problems that they have not find an explanation for yet so they scheduled him for exploritory surgery next month. He did get some prescription medicine that has helped him but they are not sure what the cause is yet. Everyone there has taken the time to answer all our questions even if we forgot to ask and had to call back in later. They also helped us with our insurance claim and made sure everything was covered. I would recommend these doctors in a heartbeat.

PROS: Professional, friendly, helpful
