When it came time for me to come out of 'housewife' retirement and get a part-time job, I went around putting in my application to all sorts of businesses around town (Norman OK). Even ones that claimed they were hiring (mostly retail) - I never got one single call back from! No, I am not a college student, but I am older and (I believe) more reliable than most college students (in my early 30s). Apparently in this town, though, that is a bad thing.

I remembered that I had once worked through PAB (had no choice at the time, that company had all new employees begin with PAB before hiring), so I went downtown and filled out the application. I was lucky that someone had been asking for my particular expertise (travel agent), and within a week, I was working for that travel agency through PAB. The situation did not work out, however, and I quit that job as my time with PAB ran out.

After taking a small break, I called PAB again and was able to get some work, and have been off and on working through them ever since.

Going in, though, you must know that if you just want a few days a week, you will more than likely be called up in the morning to go to work that very day (sometimes they want you at the place in an hour) - as someone has called in sick or possibly quit and they need someone a.s.a.p. Then again, sometimes a person has a scheduled vacation and the boss will call requesting certain days ahead of time. You just never know.

As for the other reviewer that claims no 'hispanics' will get jobs there and they only hire friends/family/etc....I have no idea what he/she is talking about! Every time I go to get my paycheck, there are always hispanics (usually more than any other race/ethnicity) picking up their checks. I believe PAB to be an equal opprotunity employer for everyone and they try to work within your requests.

Also know that my education background is a few courses completed at the vo-tech and I have high school diploma.

Pros: Called for jobs often, friendly staff

Cons: Must go downtown to their office to pick up check (no direct deposit)

I will never move without movers again. I can't tell you what a relief it was to have someone do all the work for me. They boxed everything, drove it over (with an overnight hold), and put it all in the right rooms. I barely had to say anything to them. They were so nice, and hard working. I couldn't imagine how much time they saved us. With kids, I couldn't figure out how to pack the house. It was so worth the little extra to have that done for us.
