Great Hospital, a little pricey

by Anonymous

I never had a problem getting an appointment, Dr. Caren Baird and Dr. Mary (-------------) I forget her last name are great. Dr. Baird bent over backwards for me many times reducing my bill because I couldn't afford it. Dr. Henson didn't even charge me for x-rays once. Yes they are expensive but I took my 2 dogs and one cat there all for various medical issues with no problems. Only complaints I have is money and they weren't always sure of the diagnosis since I think Dr. Baird is a younger vet. Their techs are incredibly helpful and I loved the fact that they were open all the time. One time they couldn't see me for an emergency (which I thought was strange b/c never had that problem before) and pointed me to another VCA hospital to go to as well as they suggested the Marina clinic once when I couldn't afford treatment. I wasn't a fan of the rude staff at the marina though it was ALOT cheap (only half of what VCA charged!).

Worse than low income placed for pets

by Anonymous

I took my dog into Woodland Animal Clinic to be treated for what we thought was a cough. It turned out to be heart failure. The treatment we received was HORRIBLE! after 2 hours and test and xrays it took them another 20 min after my dog was left there to have test ran all DAY, to bring my meds after dealing with the stress of my Dog being terminally ill. Got home and found that the meds were not all there. 3 hours later and 5 techs later I finally got my meds for my dog. You would think $500 would get you EXCELLENT SERVICE since I paid twice as much as what I would of paid at The Marina. ( Which is a far better place than Woodland Animal Clinic. Cathy was the worst tech there. She didn't say "sorry" instead told me they are doing the best they can.... HOW SAD! A low income animal hospital (Marina) gives better service and cares more about their patients then a "High" end vet clinic. Take you pet to the Marina Animal Clinic don't waste your money on POOR SERVICE.

They killed my dog

by Jerry L.

when I first took my French Bulldog (BART) to them, they were great. The doctors and surgeon were knowledgeable and caring and worked very very well with Bart. They are expensive, but I did not care as long as they took good care of him. Bart was my pride and joy and my best friend, so when he got a sore tail I took him to them for treatment. They had him for about 20 min. and came out and told me that he was dead. They killed him for a sore tail with what I consider to be poor and uninformed anesthesia procedures. I have found out that there is an anesthesia protocol for brachycephalic dogs (Flat faced dogs). Their surgeon had previously followed the protocol with no problem, but this time they stuck him in a hallway on a metal rack with no surgical equipment except a gas mask and mask him down and killed him immediately.I would not expect this from what is supposed to be a top notch facility and will never forgive or forget this terrible treatment of Bart. I will be pursuing legal action, but no amount of money can bring him back. These are all my own opinions and I shall make every effort to let them be known so that maybe someone else might be spared this terrible grief.

Cat Clinic of Tulsa

by shawn m. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,289

The cat clinic is so wonderful. My friend told me about this place when my cat suddenly became very sick. It turned out to be ok but thank goodness we took her in. The staff was so kind and so helpful. The doctor was the best and put us at ease right away. This place is great!

New facility!

by Roseanne Y. | insider Insider | Rank: 22,623

Cat Clinic of Tulsa is now at a new location just a mile east of the old place. The entire clinic has two female doctors who are both extremely good with cats. The new place has separate ventilation for isolation patients, and it has a concrete floor that can be sprayed down and cleaned well. The clinic has a pleasant smell rather than smelling like wet dog dipped in alcohol! The doctors explain anything and answer calls quickly.

PROS: Very good service; knowledgable and kind vets and staff
CONS: Expensive, but worth it. Short hours make it hard to get there.

Dr. Monroe is Amazing!

by Randie S.

I love her! My husband and I think she is the best veteranarin we have ever had. They have take such good care of our kitties. Even though they can run a little higher in price they specialize in cat care so they know what they are talking about.

NO NO NO

by Jayne G. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 654

If you want to over pay you can go there. i got a kitten once and took him straight there on my way home. They charged outragious prices. The dr was nice I will admit that but she was making darn good money. once we took the kitten to our normal vet he told us it would have cost a quarter of what we paid if we would have brought the cat to him. I feel why over pay if you dont have to!
