This place has given me the most trouble I have ever had at an apartment...and that included living over seas.

When I moved in there were several things wrong, including finger nail clippings all over the floor along with dead bugs, and the underside of the stove looked like it had never been cleaned. There was an entire box of burnt macaroni and several dead bugs along with other disgusting goo and whatnot. In addition, I was missing a screen (which was NEVER replaced) and the toilet never wouldn't hold water.
I reported all these things upon walk-around the apartment, but none of them were fixed. Since I had to be out of my old apartment, I had no choice but to move in. The toilet began to secrete a terrible smell and I reported it to them for almost a year before I finally had to call the emergency line to get a maintenance person over there. I had told them ever time I went in that the problem was that the pipe on the roof was blocked. Until I finally got the man in there it see for himself, no one listened to me.
After the toilet was fixed, I put up with the place for a little longer, despite the pot-head neighbors and the other neighbors that like to beat on each other. which I also called about and nothing was done.

Even though all this was bad, the worst part came when I moved out. I was offered a job in another state and had to break contract. The office manager acted like I had killed her first born, even though I already had two people to take the apartment as soon as I moved out. When I inquired about the return of money, she became extremely rude. She was intolerable until the day I left. Then, 80 days after I moved out, I still had not received the money that was due to me. When I called I talked with a new girl (very nice), she checked on my situation and said that "yes" they did owe me money, but that the would have to wait until Monday for the person who handles those kind of check. I went in Monday, since I was in town fro a funeral, and found that the same office lady was there. She gave me more attitude saying it would take longer. When I called back on Tuesday, she SCREENED MY CALL and didn't answer. I had wondered about this before, so I called from another line and she answered on the second ring. She was not happy to find it was me and when I asked again about the check she was curt and said that it should be out in the next week. IT has been over three months.

I will never rent from these properties again, and I will recommend my friend stay away as well.

DO NOT RENT HERE!

The property grounds are ALWAYS dirty! There is trash every where and cigarette butts everywhere.

Every time it rained i had leaks. I complained about them and they were never fixed. (the first leak was the day i moved in and i lived there for a year).

The carpet is nasty. When they show you the apartment they say it will be shampooed and it will look better but it doesn't. Its nasty.

I had a huge gap around my front door which caused huge bills. And every time my neighbors smoked outside it made my whole apartment smell like smoke.

When I moved out I was charged for damage I did not do to the apartment. I even wrote on my move in statement problems that were wrong with my apartment and they still charged me for those problems when I moved out. They have awful at paper work or they would have documentation of damage that was there. Instead they say they fixed something without even looking at it. (this is a really long story if you would like to ask me about it)

The ovens are like 40 years old. Every time I turned on the oven the smoke alarm went off. That cant be healthy.

I lived on the second floor. My 12 year old water heater flooded the apartment below me and they didnt compensate them at all for the damages done.

The quality of people that live at Carleton Crossing are the worst around. They are loud and disrespectful. They have no respect for others and are loud at all hours of the day/night. Parents do not watch their children who reek havock all they can. I got sick of there being little kid hand prints on my car. They also scream instead of talking. In the year I lived in the apartment there were 4 apartments vacated in my building (which consists of 8 apartments) souly because of one apartment's tenets. There are drug dealers in this complex. I've seen it first hand.

If it snows or ices don't expect them to shovel anything for you or even clean the parking lot. They wont. They don't care about you.

Living in this apartment complex was the worst year long experience I've ever had when renting an apartment. They don't care about you and they are just out to screw you out of your money.

These apartments are older buildings that could use more work. This complex I believe is now managed by C-star wich is a good management company. They offer reasonable rental rates here, but they are not very close to campus, but are close to town just the same. Check them out for yourself for very reasonable rental prices, but don't expect much frills here.
