As a dog industry professional, I can tell you every shop I've been to all over the country, you will find someone who yells at animals and holds them in dominant positions. Imagine listening to 20+ dogs bark nonstop for eight hours. Imagine trying to hold them still when they are biting you. There are certain dogs that must be handled that way or you might get torn to shreds. As for the yelling, cursing, it's honestly something I can't stand, but I've seen it at every shop I've visited. My advice would be to find one groomer in the shop you like, take the time to meet them, give them a small tip for all their hard work, and use them reliably. Never just drop your dog off ANYWHERE without meeting the one who will be working on your baby. Long story short- I wouldn't call Puppy Love the best, but I would consider it to be average to its competitors. Anything's better than Petsmart!

I started taking my poodle here because of the location and have been very happy with them over the past year (it is May 2010). We have been six times. I asked for a non standard cut for my dog (not a poodle cut) and requested that the inside of her ears be plucked and they did a great job. My dog has never had nicks from shaving from this groomer or been soiled when I have picked her up. The store location is neat and clean. I have been happy and always had a great experience with Puppy Love. You do need to call ahead for an appointment but can usually book the next business day unless it is a weekend. They call me when my dog is ready and I didn't know you were supposed to leave a tip for a groomer and never have - still get great service. The price is in the same range as my old groomers 30-40 dollars. I have never seen dogs for sale there nor witnessed any cursing or yelling at animals.

That has to be the worst place I have ever taken my dog!! He had clipper burn and knicks all over his body. How could it take them 8 hours to shave a 35 lb. medium hair dog. I will never go to that place again. While waiting to pick up my dog I saw a blonde haired older woman I think was the owner beating on a cage with a roll of paper towels and screaming to "Shut Up" at some poor little dog. Do your self and your dog a favor and do not go there.

I am definitely not the type of person who complains about anything, but my recent experience with Puppy Love was so horrible that I want to get the word out. When I dropped off my dog, I was told that he could be done by about 3pm and was quoted a price by the front counter person for a bath. I called them at 3 to see if my dog was done, and the woman who answered the phone sounded confused about even knowing if my dog was there or not. She put me on hold, then hung up on me. When I called back, the same woman answered, still not sounding sure who my dog was or if he was done, and she never apologized for hanging up on me. Finally, she told me that my dog should be done at about 4:30. When I arrived to pick up my dog, I noticed that he wasn't entirely dry, and when I jokingly commented on that, the counter person rolled her eyes at me and said: "Well, the girl who did him isn't here anymore. She left for the day." She then told me that my price was almost $12 more than what I'd been quoted. When I pointed that out, the woman argued with me and basically said she couldn't do anything about it. While I was waiting, I also witnessed one of the workers handling a small dog very, very roughly. The dog was crying and struggling, and the worker kept shoving it around and manhandling it. Also, it sounded like some staff were arguing, because I kept hearing them using profanity and yelling at each other. Very unprofessional. And another thing that really bothered me was that the front person was talking to another customer about a bunch of puppies that were out in front of the store (the owner was trying to sell them), and she said that the owner was going to dump those puppies at the pound if they weren't sold soon. That really made me sick. Not only will I never recommend this place, but I honestly think they should be shut down completely. Just awful!!

I do not write reviews I normally just read them and make my own judgement. This time I took 2 of my dogs to puppy love, 1 for a bath and trim the other to clip his nails and a bath. When I picked them up the dog with the trim looked good but the dog that went in for a bath had dirtied himself. When I was handed the leash it had crap on it. I looked aT THE LADY AS WHAT NOW AND SHE SAID "HE HAD AN ACCIDENT"
Ok was my reply she asked would you like for me to clean him up? I said yes thank you he needs to bet in the car. She took a paper towel and wiped his but and said there you go.
I grabbed the leash and started to leave and noticed there was also crap on his head! I walked him back in and asked the lay to clean him more. He was taken to the back and returned 5 minutes later clean but still smelling like crap!
I gave up and just took him home and gave him a bath myself. Hard leson to learn after paying 82.00 with tip. I know I should have never tipped without seeing the dogs first.

I have brought my dog to Puppy Love for years, and was always happy with the services. Two visits ago we were given a "bait and switch" price...I thought there was a miscommunication between my husband and me, so I paid it and went on. Last time when I went to pick up my dog (they always say they will call, but I finally have to call them to find out she is done), one of the workers yelled into a cage of a small white barking dog, "SHUT UP!" twice while I stood there at the counter. I won't be back. I'm not sure what has changed at Puppy Love, but it is NOT for the better.

This is the first time I have ever written a negative review of anything. But I feel I must warn others who love their dogs. I have two abused rescue dogs who are terrified of the groomers. I wanted to get both shaved for the summer since they have a long thick coat. I was referred to Love On A Leash by my vet but they were booked for weeks. Come to find out everyone was booked except Puppy Love. This should have been a red flag. I was told to drop off my dog between 8-10 am. I dropped off at 9 am and was told my dogs would be ready for pick up between 12-2 pm. At 2:30 pm I called to check on them, I was told around 4 pm to pick up. Around 4:30, I was told 6. At this point I told Puppy Love I would be picking up my dogs finished or not at 5:30. I was then told that some customers pay more and get priority treatment! I was already paying $75 per dog and didn't know about the "priority treatment"! It took over 8 hours to shave 2 dogs. During that 8 hours they were not given any water or walked for bathroom breaks. Puppy Love also preceeded to clip their nails until they bled. I had already had their nails clipped a few days before at the vet. I paid my $150 and felt totally ripped off and terrible for my shaking dogs. Next time I will know to book an appointment with Love On A Leash in advanced.

They quoted my wife $32 to groom our 9 lb Maltese. When I showed up to pick him up they charged me $40.50. My wife had removed mats prior to bringing the dog. Nothing on the invoice could have even added up to $32 so I guess they are deceptive from the beginning. $40 to run clippers over a dog is rediculous.

PROS:
CONS: Hidden Charges, Bait and Switch pricing.

I agree. They do a great job grooming and pampering pets. I took my golden retriever here, and they did a great job grooming him. They also have a great selection of pet care products.

I love puppy love they do a great job at grooming your dog and they dont charge you an arm & a leg! They are nice to the animals and my dog jessie just loves to go there! They all have supplies and things there for your convenience. I think it cost me $25 for my long haired weenie dog.
