We are right now awaiting delivery and after reading the complaints on several blogs I am more worried than ever that tomorrow morning our nightmare of buying what we thought would be a lovely living room suite will not end. The buying process has been a series of ill fated ''mistakes'' that seem more and more like lies. We were quoted the price of cloth when we had specified leather. The salesman MARK BRAZILL quoted not once but twice the price of cloth when we had specified leather. Both times he wrote the wrong price. He specified the availability as deliverable in 2 weeks time. I have that on my answering machine. He totally denied this. When I spoke to the ''manager'' AMY, she offered to do her best and we have arranged to take a showroom recliner so that they could deliver on time. She offered a $100 reduction. This was July 29th. Sofamart had already charged my credit card for the entire purchase on the 24th of July. I asked for written confirmation of this reduction by fax or email. AMY refused and said a ''hard copy'' would be much better and she would mail it Friday the 30th of July. We are now the 5th of August and I have no hard copy. AMY was supposed to call me Tuesday the 3rd of August to tell me what day I would be delivered this week. I waited until Wednesday evening to ask for an update. When I reached her she didn't seem to remember anything. Than she said she would have the delivery people call me Thursday. SURPRISE SURPRISE the delivery people called and seem to be the only competent people in this store. I called the store today at 4pm to remind AMY of my $100 refund which she had never made and DERRICK informed me that she was busy. I left a message and awaited her return call. At 7:30pm I decided to call them back. She was still BUSY and DERRICK said the ''hard copy'' was mailed today. What a coincidence. Why so long I asked? He said they couldn't find my credit card number to run the refund. Funny, I said, that AMY didn't think of calling me to ask me for my card number to run the refund without wasting too much time in her busy day. I must say I can't wait for tomorrow to see the furniture because I'll not be astonished if it is not delivered, or if it is the wrong model. I will keep you posted in the saga tomorrow

I was told my furniture would be delivered in about 7-14 days. I thought Wow, that's a lot faster than I thought it would be! After three weeks and not hearing anything I called the store. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of the person on the phone. She told me the loveseat and recliner were there but they were still waiting on the couch. She never offered any extra information. I asked how much longer? She replied that it would probably be the next week. I called again a little over a week later and was told it was in transit so it would be there either the next day (which was a Friday) or Monday. I would definitely be called around noon on Friday either way. That must've been the first thing the person on the phone thought of to shut me up, although the truth would've done the same thing! Anyway, I still don't have my furniture and am hoping to hear something on Monday. I'm tempted at this point to ask for a refund and go somewhere else!

Although shipping is supposed to take 6-8 wks to get here, Julie helped me find what I liked. I wasn't told this until we actually sat down and started the paperwork. Apparently they don't keep their items in stock. Anyway, I have my old furniture so I said no problem. A couple weeks later she calls and says it is in the distribution center and it sounded like it would arrive soon. I later called the store and asked someone at the desk and she mentioned it wasn't a the dist center yet. It wasn't even made yet (Sofa/Loveseat)! The lady added that it would be on a truck, making stops along the way to Tulsa. Makes me wonder how this type of business stays afloat. I also purchased the 5 yr repair/replacement warranty. It makes me wonder about it in hind-site. So I am currently waiting for these items. All the other pieces of the suit are there. Overall the suit is great for the price, but if you want it fast, your best bet would be someplace that has a local warehouse.

Ok, now I am back with my furniture in-house. So, after Julie says all she says, in my original post, I get the furniture. I look at the sofa/love seat. Looks great! Then the movers that I paid for because my saleswoman (Julie) says they put together the furniture, leaves the end/coffee tables in boxes. So I ask them about settting up the furniture. They tell me they don't do "custom setup". I have to request the warehouse to construct the items.

All this makes me wonder, does the sales department just try to make a sale and not be truthful about what they say? I probably will never go back and I plan on making it (and have been) a point to make sure the people I know the experience that I have been given at furniture row (and I know many)...

I just wonder if my warranty is what Julie explained to me be true...

I am changing the title of this post from "Not a bad price for the wait" to " How can you be certain?"
